Wounded_Lion
What's the story with the 'Can Rest' area type flag? It seems as if the party can rest whether or not the flag is set (in dungeon and outdoor areas, at least; I've only experimented with changing the flag on two maps). What is the purpose of the flag if it doesn't really control resting? What is the area considered if neither the dungeon nor the outdoor flags are set? City? Or... what? - D Link to comment
Smoketest
AFAIK, the Can Rest flag ignores the Sleep Interruption (Rest Spawns in older editors) structure in ARE files. Resting can work in areas without the Can Rest flag set because they don't all incorporate Sleep Interruption (no creatures in the list, etc.) Also, Sleep Interruption structures specify a percent chance of occurring while the party is resting, so they don't always trigger. CamDawg
The presence of Can Rest, City, Forest, Dungeon, or Outdoor flags will allow resting. If none of these flags are present, you'll get the 'you can not rest here' message. Link to comment

Thanks, Cam. Exactly the information that I was looking for. - D Link to comment
Avenger
I don't think the can rest flag disables sleep interruption. But i fully agree with Cam's answer. Link to comment
