Echon
I tried using all three modifier types (Inc/Dec, Set, Set % of) with a value of 100, and only Inc/Dec (0) had any effect. Spells were never miscast with the other two types. -Echon Link to comment
devSin
They should be spell type (wizard, priest, innate). I wouldn't be surprised if BG didn't support innate, but it should at least support priest spell failure (1)? Link to comment
Echon
Where were you told that? According to both IESDP, DLTCEP and Near Infinity there are only those three modifier types, and not any spell types. I have not tested whether the spell types work yet, I will do so tomorrow. Modding while drunk is propably not that productive. -Echon Link to comment
CamDawg
I can corroborate devSin's findings in the BG2 engine, at least. The IESDP, NI, et al have this parameter wrong. 0 is arcane, 1 is divine, and 2 is innate. Link to comment
devSin
I'm pretty positive igi would have updated this for at least the ToB effects description. Nobody cares about Tales. And my NI should kick all kinds of ass in effect fields. Link to comment
Echon
Nobody cares about Tales. Really? Spelltype 0 and 1 have the same effect in BG as in BG2, but 2 does not affect innate spells in any way. -Echon Link to comment
igi
Spell/Priest/Innate is the description for ToB, the other games still have the old description, as no-one ever confirmed how the opcode works in the other engines. I'll sort if for the next update (before the end of the year, for sure - I've been pretty busy with other stuff recently). Link to comment
Avenger
60,1,"Stat: Miscast Magic [60]","Percent Chance","Type","The targetted creature(s) will fail to cast the type of spell specified by the 'Type' field, 'Percent Chance' percent of the time. Known values for 'Type' are: 0 Mage Spells 1 Cleric Spells 2 Innate 3 Mage Spells 4 Cleric Spells 5 Innate 'Type' values of 0,1 or 2 display a message -'Spell Failed: casting failure' The modified stats are #51, #52 and #194 respectively. 'Type' values of 3,4 or 5 display a message -'Spell failed due to dead magic' These latter effects set Stat #196 to 1 too." 0 and 1 (mage/priest failure) are definitely in BG1, PST and IWD1. IWD2, SoA has 0-2. ToB also has dead magic zone induced failures. (3-5) Link to comment
Echon
No message is displayed in BG:TotSC when the spellcasting fails. -Echon Link to comment
