Error during Step 41 BG2 Fix Pack.exe

I am running into a problem with the BG2 Fix Pack.exe.

 

It gets to the question asking if I want to install the core fixes and I click I.

 

Then it gets down to the following and ends:

 

Compiling 1 dialgue file and 17 scripts ...

ERROR: BIFF [./DATA/BG1DLG.BIF] cannot be loaded: Unix.Unix_error<20, "stat",

"./DATA/BG1DLG.BIF">

ERROR: preprocessing APPEND_EARLY [bg2fixpack/compile/soa-dlg.d]:

Unix.Unix_error<20, "stat", "./DATA/BG1DLG.BIF">

stopping Installation because of error.

 

ERROR Installing [bG2 Fixpack - Core Fixes], rolling back to previous state

Will uninstall 75 files for [bG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2] component 0.

Has your game been biffed? The debug file is full of unlink errors.

What do you mean by "Step 41"?

Step 41 was in the list of how to install this with the big picture.

Just to clarify, when you reach step 41 in those instructions, you've not yet installed anything, correct? You should either have no WeiDU.log in your Baldur's Gate II directory or you should have one listing no mods installed.

 

Everything on the list up to that point is just "download this file and put it in a directory to install later".

Did you install BGT before fixpack? If yes, you shouldn't have.

 

If no - wipe your BG2 folder completely and do a clean install.

I installed the Fix pack first, then BGT second.

 

The instructions say to "extract" several of the files and then in steps 41 you finally install the Fix Pack first. I tried running the patch again and this time it went through.
