EiriktheScald Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 No snow, but plenty of ice. Unusual for this time of year.
berelinde Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Ice storms are beautiful, as long as you don't have a 58-mile commute each way...
Miloch Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Nice. A bit slippery? Looks like you work on or near a farm.
EiriktheScald Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 Lots of rolling hills, fruit orchards and dairy farms. I see them as I drive into work everyday. But there's alot of hi-tech companies around as well. Best of both worlds, I guess.
BigRob Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 It's a beautiful scene... not sure I'd like to be crouching down in the cold to take that shot though.
EiriktheScald Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow.... no wait, that's the postman; or was it Herodotus?
Kulyok Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 It definitely was in Pratchett's "Going Postal", I remember - so it must have been postman. Beautiful, though I am really, *really* thankful that here we've been having temperatures above zero for quite some time. Yay for the global warming or whatever it is, for -30C last winter had been hell.
Western Paladin Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 It's 38 Celsius (~95 Fahrenheit or some such) outside right now. Wish I was there.
Guest Guest Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 The ground beneath my feet sounded like I was walking on cornflakes!

EiriktheScald Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 Yay for the global warming or whatever it is, for -30C last winter had been hell. What about those big, furry coats? Don't they keep you warm?
Kulyok Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 They do, but personally, my fingers aren't too happy about the cold weather, despite any and all protection. On the worst days, it took me ten to fifteen minutes before I could type after entering the room, and that's considering two fur pairs of gloves...
Rabain Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Today I noticed in my front and back garden that the daffodils are about 2 inches (5cm) out of the ground already. This is wrong, I am in London and it's January!
