December 17, 2007: G3 Welcomes Domi's Mods for Neverwinter Nights 2

Our resident modder Domi has completed and released mods for Neverwinter Nights 2, and we're pleased to offer support for them here at G3. There are currently three mods available and a fourth in development:

  • Bishop's Romance: This is a fan-made modification for NWN2-OC that adds romantic dialogues to an existing character, Bishop.
  • OC Companions in MotB: The OC Companions in MotB is a simple hack that lets you add any companion from the OC to your MoTB party. No role-playing capacity, just purely pack-mule and combat thing.
  • The Requiem: The Requiem is a tiny add-on that adds a number of dialogue options to Ammon Jerro’s conversation about the OC companions in MotB.
  • A Deathstalker (in development): 'A Deathstalker' is a tongue-in-cheek short prequel mod for BG (made for NWN2 - MotB ) for an evil non-cleric character with Bhaal as their deity (the Deity will be re-set for you).

A new NWN2 modding section of the forums has been created for technical support and development of these mods as well as project pages. Downloads will not be available at G3, and will instead be handled offsit (download links are available from the project pages).

February 19, 2007: Version 2 of The Gibberlings Three Debugging Suite Released

In the course of BG2 Fixpack development, several errors kept cropping up repeatedly--so much so that it became time-efficient to write some automated checking tools. With some polish, these tools are now ready to be released independently so that modders can use them to diagnose issues in their own mods. This suite is not designed for players. Note that the suite doesn't actually alter any game files and leaves no entry in the WeiDU log, so that it can be used at any point in the install order, as many times as needed. Version 2 fixes a handful of bugs and enhances some of the error reports for the area checks. You can learn more about the Suite and its capabilities on the project page or in the readme. Discussion and feedback can be directed to the forums and the mod is available from the downloads page.

February 18, 2007: The G3 Anniversary Mod Hits Version 5

Version 5 of the G3 Anniversary mod is now available. The G3 Anniversary mod was created by the resident modders on the site's first anniversary as a way to thank our wonderful community. It features one long (and admittedly somewhat silly) quest that can be initiated by speaking a Drini, a half-elf in the Copper Coronet. The new version features many bug fixes from version 4. More information about the mod is available in the readme or on its project page. You can download the mod or come and join us on the forums.

February 12, 2007: Version 4 of the BG2 Tweak Pack Now Available

G3 Tweaks, Tutu Tweaks, and Wes Weimer's Ease of Use mod have been combined into BG2 Tweaks--a single mod designed to work on Tutu, Baldur's Gate Trilogy, or regular Baldur's Gate II games (with or without the expansion Throne of Bhaal). Version 4 features some new components and installation options as well as bug fixes from the previous versions. The BG2 Tweak Pack is a WeiDU compilation of fixes, cosmetic changes, and tweaks. Some of these were fan requests, others are needed fixes, and others simply make dealing with the more irritating aspects of the game engine easier. Each component can be installed separately so the player can pick and choose only which ones they wish to install. Grab BG2 Tweaks from the downloads page or learn more about the mod on the project page or in the readme. You can provide feedback and discuss the mod in the Tweak Pack forums.

January 29, 2007: Version 2 of the BG2 Fixpack Released

The BG2 Fixpack is a WeiDU compilation of fixes for Baldur's Gate II. With the disappearance of Kevin Dorner and the cessation of activity of the Baldurdash fixpack for BG2, several modders form many modding communities began working on a new WeiDU fixpack to address the numerous bugs that have been identified since Baldurdash. This collaborative effort, including the work of modders from several different modding communities, has resulted in a fixpack that currently includes all of the fixes addressed by Baldurdash (including the Game Text Update) and several hundred new bugfixes. The project is ongoing, and we're working through a substantial list of bugs culled from various sites, the old Baldurdash forums, and our own research. This release adds a new Korean translation (courtesy of web2air), addresses the errors from the first release, expands existing fixes, and includes a new optional-but-cool component for additional alignment fixes. Several new fixes have been added to the BETA Core Fixes component. The Fixpack is available from the downloads page or you can browse the readme. You can learn more about the mod (including complete documentation of the bugs fixed) from the project page. Feedback is strongly encouraged; please join us on the Fixpack forums.
