  1. This is one particular quest that I especially wish hadn't been cut out. To me, it fits precisely with Viconia's character as portrayed throughout the game, and does indeed portray at least a little view of her drow nature and the more 'evil' side of Viconia. In my opinion, Viconia's relationship with the PC (whether male or female) could only benefit from more interactions where Viconia shows more of her character and unique (at least among the Bioware 17) upbringing. She IS drow, she IS neutral evil, and taking away from this is, in my opinion, detrimental to her character. This isn't to say that I'm at all against her alignment change in ToB, though I do think that should have been handled differently. ToB's just too damned short. Don't know. I guess I just see Viconia's neutral evil alignment as being very fitting of the characterizations she displays in SoA. NE people are often hedonistic, self-centered. To me, Viccie just epitomizes these qualities. Ah well, don't mind me too much. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I would hate to see Viconia's temperment changed in the SoA relationship. I am most certainly glad to see this mod being worked on; I've long thought Viconia should have been a romance option for characters of either gender. Good luck with the mod!
  2. Just looks like there should have been another PC response somewhere in there. Not a line that gets seen very often, I imagine, as it's a romance ender anyway.
  3. As another victim of computer death, I can sympathize. I tend to keep hard copies of everything, though..so glad I did.

    Portraits

nods, the second one is the one I've done the least work with thus far. I'm not really happy with her breastplate yet, and as you mentioned, Bri, the mouth's off a bit. I did look at Karse's Jolie pic, but it just didn't fit well with my mental pictures for Tabiya. These will, I think, when I can get them adjusted to suit.
  5. It's certainly good to be back! I've so much reading to do though! The creativity of the BG2 community just astounds me.

    Portraits

nods, the portrait portal's tutorial is how I got those as decent as I did. They're far from finalized, but I'm happy in the general direction they're going.
  7. As usual, looking wonderful, Bri. I, too, love the way you've captured the inner conflict of Delainy's upbringing and very heritage versus her attempts to make herself as unobstrusive as possible. This could be worded slightly better..something like "It was hard for me to grasp the idea that females would do such a thing just to try and attract a mate." Just a nit-picky thing; as a whole, it's beautiful.

And this second portrait is used if Tabiya is completely corrupted to evil. Poor girl. Anyway, how can I make them better? And yes, I do have a 'thing' for Angelina Jolie. I saw the picture I used as a base for this second portrait and just couldn't pass it up.

    Portraits

Well, my time since getting a working computer back hasn't been completely idle. Here's the latest portraits I've been working on for Tabi. They're not perfect, as my Photoshop "skills" are far from the best, but I'm kinda fond of them. Here's Tabiya's starting portrait:
  10. Ohmigod, this has been a rough six months. The Gibberlings Three looks more like the Gibberlings Twelve now...wow. So many interesting new projects. I *am* very much so still working on Tabiya. My computer died a dramatic death as a result of one of the moves I've done in the past months, though fortunately most of my material for Tabi is all on paper anyway. It's very good to have a functional machine again, though. I am currently in the process of finding out just how little I know about scripting. It's scary, but I figure if I can make the scary script-thing do what I want it to do, then converting my dialogues into Weidu-ese should be (relatively) easy. Famous last words, right?
  11. For anyone that likes fantasy and doesn't mind a little spicy reading, the Kushiel's Legacy trilogy by Jacqueline Carey is probably the best I've ever read, and I read a *lot*. The writing and storyline are just incredible, and the characters are unique and unforgettable.
  12. Alright, so I was working a bit today on one of the new areas, and I started thinking. What, exactly, would you guys like to see in a mod? A long romance, or a shorter one? Lots of quest-y goodness? Tough battles, easily won battles? Just looking for some opinions here, as the current scenario is yet quite flexible within its arc.
  13. Exactly, Bri. Right now I'm leaning towards there not ever having been a special someone in Tabiya's life. So there's probably no serious relationships in her past, and almost certainly nothing sexual. Her paladin order is vastly different from orders such as the Radiant Heart, however..Sune's followers would naturally be a bit more..open-minded..in all things romantic, I imagine.
  14. You know, this is one of those details I've not completely decided on either way. I can think up plenty of reasons to justify her being either experienced or a bit naive. Each has its own merits. What do y'all think makes more sense, keeping in mind her somewhat confined upbringing, yet also the fact that she's a Sunite through and through..

    Stats and Such

TAB-ee-yah. As far as stats go, I'm quite flexible with them. I *may* up her con a point or two, but paladins already tend to be statistical powerhouses, and I'd like to avoid that, if possible.
  16. Alright, sorry for having been awol for a bit. Between some personal goings-on and then my hard drive deciding to crash, my life's been..interesting..of late, to say the least. In short, yes to both of these questions. I plan to do full voicing for Tabiya, as well as several of the key actors in her subquests. I hope to have her fit as seamlessly as possible into the Bioware meld. It's no secret I'm a Kelsey fanatic; I can only try to make my Tabiya mesh as well as Kelsey does. Oh yes, UU, if Tabiya is completely corrupted by the PC and company, her class will most definitely reflect this. She'll have a unique kit designed for this circumstance, though this will only be available to those dedicated people who are bound and determined to corrupt poor Tabiya to the fullest of her evil potential. In other words, getting the alternate kit isn't an automatic thing just because Tabiya's alignment is evil. You'll have to work at it a little. Her epilogues will also reflect this, certainly. Yes, I'll post something when I finish getting my computer sorted out. It's still not behaving properly. All hail blue screens of death every other hour or so.
  17. Aye, I know it, but really, would you think a man and a woman WOULD be wooed in the exact same way? I think not. Besides more options are always a good thing in my book. Actually, I have read both the Eleniad and the Tamuli trilogies, but I'd not thought about looking to them for ideas. I'll have to run off and peruse my bookshelves again. Thanks for the tip!
  18. In my opinion, not really. Kelsey's banters, at least, haven't seemed overly awkward.
  19. Yes, though the PC and his or her companions may encourage her to seek and eventually obtain redemption for the actions that cause her fall. Well, first off, Sune is the *one* chaotic diety that does indeed have paladins. The order she is a part of isn't the Radient Heart, but rather the Brothers and Sisters of the Ruby Rose, an organization of Sune's followers. It's composed of not only paladins, but also warriors, priests and bards. Tabiya's father is a member of the Ruby Rose, and also a paladin. Tabi grew up among them, and wanted nothing more than to follow in her father's footsteps as a paladin. I've currently got her kitted as an undead slayer, a kit that I can see working for a paladin of Sune, as she is dedicated to wiping the vile undead from the beautiful face of Faerun.
  20. Ew. Ew ew ew ew ew. That is all.
  21. I'm willing to voice as much of Delainy as Bri would like, provided she thinks I sound suitable and if I can differ Delainy's voice enough from Tabiya's, as I do plan to do her voice as well. Still, though, it's up to Bri, and if she'd prefer to retain some of the story-like quality of Delainy, that would make for an interesting mod as well.
  22. Pretty sure the game would go on regardless. Kelsey had a lite version out for a while with no voicing other than the soundset, and I don't recall panicked postings every other day of that crashing at unhealthy intervals. I'm far from an expert, though.
  23. I could probably be persuaded to attempt a soundset for you, Bri, when you need one. I'm very much looking forward to getting my hands on Delainy. You're doing an awesome job thus far.

    Stats and Such

Alright, the current idea for a portrait is (hopefully) posted below. Her bio: When asked about her past, TABIYA smiles radiantly, her amethyst eyes sparkling with happy memories.  She relates that she was raised by her father, a paldin of Sune Firehair, in a chapterhouse of te Brothers and Sisters of the Ruby Rose, an order dedicated to promoting love and beauty.  Tabiya grew up the pampered darling of the Brothers and Sisters, and spent many years training to join the order.  A note of pride enters her voice when she mentions that she was chosed by Sune herself to serve as a paladin, following in her father's footsteps as the fulfillment of her life-long dream.  Tabiya's ready smile falters a moment as her fingers brush across the three faint parallel scars upon her cheek, seemingly of their own accord.  Hesitating a little, she states that she has nothing more to say at the moment. The stats: Strength: 15 (You can't be a wimp to wear heavy arms and armor) Dexterity: 16 (She's young and agile) Constitution: 12 (She's not the most hearty person, but not below average) Intelligence: 11 (Neither brilliant nor a dolt) Wisdom: 15 (Being raised among the order has imparted a measure of their wisdom) Charisma: 18 (She's quite charming, and Sune's followers are quite the vain lot besides) Total: 87 I know that's a touch on the high side, but I can't justify lowering anything in particular by much.  I'm always open to suggestions, however.
  25. First off, let me extend a huge thank you to CamDawg for providing this forum space, and to Bri for nudging me into asking for it. Now let's see. What is this Tabiya project? It centers around a new NPC, called Tabiya, a female paladin who would be a romance option for either male or female protagonists, with the romance track varying for either gender. Don't get me wrong, Solaufein is all well and good, but I think a male and a female should be romanced quite differently, and I intend to portray this in my mod. Now, I don't like the standard mindset of thinking of paladins as self-righteous tin-cans that think with their swords and not their hearts. Tabiya will break that mold rather well, I think. She's a paladin of Sune Firehair, which should shake things up a little. I do dearly love stirring people up a bit. No stuffy suit of armor her, no sir. Secondly, and perhaps the most defining trait of all, Tabiya will fall. I want to fully explore with her module what happens to a paladin who loses her faith, the struggles and anguishes that she will go through as she seeks redemption. Or perhaps, if the protagonist is truely an evil person, he can choose to further corrupt Tabiya, turning her into an antithesis of her former self, a creature who revels in the darkness of her nature. As an aside, I'm also of a mind to have Tabi be an NPC/NPC romance option for Viconia if she (Tabiya) is twisted to evil, and possibly Anomen (or a different NPC should a suggestion be made; I do like the idea of the girl getting some lovin' even if the PC doesn't feel up to the challenge of romancing her) if she retains her good orientation.
