You mean make a bunch of alt accounts and bad-mouth people and mislead players? (How do we know you aren'y my alt and this isn't a conversation I'm having with myself? :groucho: ...Er, okay, let's not go back down that road.)

Wait, I'm honestly not sure what you mean! Are you talking about her abominable mod?

Hey, you actually forgot that Roxanne “renovated” a bunch of mods without the creators consent - and sometimes against the express wishes of the creator. The “many alts” thing had its charms, which the first thing mentioned did not…

In all I would say that the SubtleDoctor seems very far from the “covers Queen” aka Roxanne. If you ever wanna go that way SB, you have to put in much more effort.

on topic. The ideas looks great. If you ever got to add some stuff - besides dialogue - it would be much appreciated.

  2. welcome back @CoM_Solaufein

I have no modding experience my self, but I have read a great deal about them….. One of the subjects that really comes up often is cross mod compatibility. These last years have seen a great deal of new mods. Many of the mods use the same areas.

Since a whole lot of people do mega installs like BWS (but in a EET setup), the players often spend hours trying to figure out in which order the mods should be installed. So making sure that a mod patch things correctly and not interfere with other mods has become very much a hot topic, since it could save a great deal of time, and the bug reports would be more precise. But I dont know for sure, since I am not a modder, and mostly just wanted to say welcome back.

  3. I have SoD for iPhone, and it can be modded just like the BG:ee version can. But I cant help you with the ressources thingy…. Luke or Subtledoc will surely know this.

But there is a general problem with the App in general - with or without mods. The game does - as intended - allow you export/import your game from BG into SoD. Not just the character. It works as intended.

And if you import your game, your BG companions will be there in the first crypt area - all with inventory, stats and prof. points in order.
But when you leave the crypt, you cant reload the game until you have picked up the NPC. Otherwise the NPC will be replaced with the ingame version of the NPC. It seems like it overwrites all progress, inventory and stuff? While Minsc and Dynaheir are easy to get as they where, Khalid and such are something else. Dont know if it will affect mod introduced NPC’s, but if it does and any NPC is not present in the first one or two areas, it may be problematic. Just a heads up.

ETA on a fix is uncertain….

  4. It is certainly nice, that new and younger people try the game out. Some of them even turn out to be helpful modders or otherwise contributing to the community. That is neat.

I think spoiler tags are obligatory in threads on Reddit and many threads on the Beamdog Forums. I just think that spoiler tags on a Forum that hosts the popular “toss your semi useful weiDU Marcos” isnt to be expected. But I will not be a spoil sport, so I will try to keep it spoiler free from now on.

  5. I have another one:

backstabbing with a large or and odd weapon should not add strenght multiplier to the attack.

Its fair enough that thieves know the weak spot on most enemies. But ut hardly seems posible to be hiding in the shadows and do a precise and forcefull attack with a katana or staff. A dagger, club or short sword seems more suitable for making the attack with full force and with precission.

so how about removing the strenght bonus for back stabs not made with a club, dagger or short sword

  6. Would it be possible to boost spears a bit?

Halberds can apparantly deal both piercing and slashing damage. The rationale is that the user can use the weapon 2 ways… Fair enough, but what about spears? Couldnt a spear deal some chrushing damage?
I am not a spear master, but have had  training with the bayonette, and in close combat you will deal chrushing damage as well - if you see fit.

I know DnD and esoecially the BG Series is something of its own, but I would like to use spears more. My suggestion would be 2d4 piercing damage and long reach or 1d6 chrushing damage at close range - Or something like that

Sorry, I missed this one, but honestly, I can't answer if it goes weird storywise. I've abandoned the aforementioned run where I had both BP-in-BG and Black Hearts installed before finishing the mines (I tend to spread out Ch2 a LOT) and BH doesn't really start before you clear the mines. I did check the files in both mods though, so they shouldn't affect each other much.

Not to worry Graion, I know you ser busy. Thank you for the feedback. I think I will give both a try in the same game - at some point..

  8. I always feel the urgency.

You are targeted by assasins in cabdlekeep, on the road and in city - somebody really want to see you dead.
As a low level adventurer I feel the urge to find out what causes this in a hurry; before they send a high level party to dispose of me.

Once you get to the main plot of the game, the urgency still remains - for the reasons Jastey points out.

The feeling of urgency is also one of the reasons why I hate the Balduran/werewolf quest: Hey we are about to get into a war, but lets take a month off to go on a archaeological trip….
