  1. The ritual really isn’t that hard. I usually attempt it after under dark, at which point you’re op, yes, but you also still wanna think about what you’re spending gold on, due to the many places there are to spend it (especially modded). It’s even pretty easy without cheesing, so disagree on what was written, but that said, I suppose all it would take is just removing most of the dropped items, or random items you are given before the ritual itself…
  2. Another comment I’d make is maybe the obscene amount of loot from Ritual. I usually abstain from looting anything from that mod component as it’s one of the ones that distort gold balance the most in late SoA, which I enjoy especially with all the item upgrades available from other popular mods! Looking forward to this anyway, it all sounds very exciting!
  3. There certainly is plenty of interest (at least from me) to see some of those original fights improved! Especially: - Irenicus - Bodhi - Twisted Rune I would also suggest some of the following as possible improvements too: - Drizzt party (they’re laughable by the time you come out of underdark, and the best part is hes optional!) - Heart key guardians - Nyalee in Forest of Mir - Most, if not all Bhaalspawn fights in TOB Looking forward to seeing the finished product regardless!
  4. One tweak I *always* wanted; non-rechargeable items (eg. Wands, necklace of missiles). The main rationale behind this was that it encourages a diversity of strategies, rather than spamming 100 fireballs/spellstrikes and recharging by selling and buying a wand back. Instead you’d be more conservative with your wand charges, and maybe even take the spells in your spellbook. Limiting the charges would in effect make these wands feel more valuable, given they could only be used the set amount of times designated by the game/modder. The fix could be as simple as disabling these items being sold to vendors… I’m sure there’s a more elegant way tho.
  5. Thanks for your swift response! Don't get me wrong, I love that you made us have to choose between items (really, that's the beauty of it!), and I actually did find myself opting for yours in some cases (even after mulling it over for a while in some cases). However I think some can still be tweaked as there's no contest (mostly illusory cloak and backwhacker)! I'll definitely try the Sundermaul +5 then; just reinstalling my mods as we speak! Another aspect I feel that this mod really helped with, was that it made a lot of semi-redundant/unfavourable item types kinda seem pretty viable by porting and empowering SOD versions (shortswords etc). This greatly expanded the choice and variation in my playthroughs, which I couldn't appreciate more. Thanks again for an excellent mod - and perhaps expect more feedback soon. All the best!
  6. I truly love this mod and was super excited to see it was updated again so fast (which I will be testing ASAP). I had a few suggestions below that I thought might help... Minor bugs/errors: Holy Ring of Purity; excellent item, but I'd like a description on what Mass Exaltation actually does! Trollkiller's Ioun Stone +1; the activated aura effect never worked when I tried it Vexation; whenever I backstabbed with this item, it would give the message "Strengthend" which is a typo of "Strengthened" While I really liked certain upgrades, I felt their powerlevel had waned by the time I got them upgraded, or just weren't worth using due to competing upgrades: Crown of Truths; I liked the idea behind this, and it's pretty logical as an upgrade from Crown of Lies, but I just felt like it could have been something better; truths could imply some charges on divination spells, like Oracle for example? Illusory Cloak of Arcana; I do really like this upgrade, and its well worth it at the early point in the game it's offered to you; however I find it unlikely that people would give up the chance of getting a Sorcerian Ring (from Westley Weimar's Item Upgrade) as both items require the Amulet of Metaspell Influence; another option could be to add another of these. Nasty Backwhacker +4; I really like this item upgrade, but anyone also using Westley Weimar's Item Upgrade mod is very very very likely to favour taking Fulcrum +4 over this, due to its insane ability to add +5 proficiency points to club... Another gnasher could work, or just using a different item instead... Quicksilver Sabatons; As much as I like this effect, you get this upgraded way too late... costing the Liquid mercury! Also I would usually just favour a flat boots of speed over this really; perhaps merge this with boots of speed, or give it as an earlier item; nothing really casts grease, entangle, web or slow at TOB; move silently is not really too worthwhile at this point. The worthwhile protection here is stun, but I'd still favour being able to move faster and reposition from stuns that I see coming (that I'm not already protected against)... Sundermaul +5; This item has crazy potential to be a really interesting one, but waiting till starting Sendai's enclave for a Rune of Clangeddin for the ability to cast Earthquake at will really does not seem worth it... I would suggest empowering this in a different way altogether... Perhaps immunity to Earthquake, but higher chance to proc, or a chance to knock things down or back? Vexation +5; Epic item upgrade... but there's barely anything to even backstab at the point in the game when you get Heart of the Damned; you could either add another Heart of the Damned earlier on in the game (I'd suggest sth like from Demogorgon), or you could just change the requirement... Items that I would suggest adding as they have great potential with the sorts of upgrades you've made: Blazing Glory +3; great item, could be merged with skullcrusher or starfall ore for example (although I just noticed you've used that for severence and crimson dawn)... The Bloodied Guardian; BG2 needs better shields! You've added some great ones and I love that I have a choice, but this is another must! Bracers of the Shuttered Lid; could merge this with Gauntlets of Crushing for example as an upgrade? Chill Axe +2; really powerful item, and could be excellent into a later scaling item, perhaps two upgrades: first with frostreaver +3, and secondly with balor's claw... Fractal Blade; although I understand omitting this one too since it's pretty hidden - also it might be a bit insane to instagib high level illusions - but I would love to see this merged with Shortsword of Backstabbing, Ilbratha or Kundane for example Locket of Embracing; would love to see an enhancement to clerics (always thought they were low-tier), and this is an easy one to incorporate upgrades to I'd say, merging with amulet of power for example Martyr's Morningstar; This just seemed like a really cool item that was almost on the usable scale... I'd love it if it was just that tiny bit better... Sable Cloak; This is a cute cloak, could be merged with cloak of reflection for example, as cold and lightning are pretty rare damage types I'd say. Spectacles of Spectacle; probably a lot more work than the other items to do, but I can think of a handful of places where you could fit interesting encounters with this... Planar sphere, Spellhold (near the girl who sees into the planes?), Hell - to name a few... Regardless, I found this to be a near-perfect mod, and a must-install for my following setups.
  7. Well I've kinda always wanted to see a mod that implements a kit that I designed a few years back - but I never got around to making it (or even knowing if it was possible tbh). It was designed with Rogue Rebalancing (mod by AvengeR) in mind too. Thought it might be fun to leave it here after I saw your thread: Echo (Bard Kit) Advantages: + Bard Song 25% chance (per round of Bard Song being active) of spawning a Reflected Image for the Echo only. The Reflected Image effect lasts for 6 rounds. Note: This Bard Song does not affect party members. Additionally, the Bard Song cannot give the Echo more than one image at a time. + Displacement Whenever the Echo is under the effects of any illusion magic (such as that from the Bard Song), they recieve a +2 bonus to armour class, hit and movement rate. Note: This bonus is not cumulative with itself; the Echo cannot gain twice the effects by having multiple bard songs or illusion magics active. Additionally, the Echo does not benefit from Displacement when affected by Blindness, Deafness or Nature's Beauty. + Echoing Strike From level 5 onwards, all images will also perform melee attack rolls at 25% physical damage and will apply arcane/sonic weapon effects. This includes: Chill Touch, Ghoul Touch, Phantom Blade, Lich Touch, Black Blade of Disaster & Resonating Weapon. This excludes: Melf's Minute Meteors. Note: Mirror Image will scale differently: Level 1-14: 2 images Level 15-29: 3 images Level 30+: 4 images + Gains one use of Reflected Image at level 6, gaining an extra use every 3 levels thereafter. + Gains one use of Mirror Image at level 15, gaining an extra use every 6 levels thereafter. + Unique HLAs + Black Blade of Disaster (x1) + Enhanced Bard Song (x1) 75% chance per round of spawning a Reflected Image for the Echo only. The Reflected Image effect lasts for 6 rounds. + Illusory Assault Spawns 8 images, which perform melee attack rolls at 25% physical damage and will apply arcane/sonic weapon effects. Lasts a total of 1 round. + Refraction (x1) Whenever the Echo is damaged by a physical attack, they have a 25% chance to spawn a Reflected Image. This effect cannot give you more than one image. Note: You will be asked if you want to opt for Rogue-Rebalancing HLAs instead of vanilla HLAs. Snare-based HLAs will be removed in favour of the above regardless. Disadvantages: + Hit die: d4 + -2 to STR and CON upon character creation. + Bard song does not affect party members. + Bard song does not improve with levels (with the exception of Enhanced Bard Song at HLA level). + Only has one-quarter of the normal Lore value. + Weapons restricted to those available to a thief. + May not assign points into Two-Weapon Style.
