  1. That's a pretty talkative combination. I'd throw in Xan and Amber, since they will be my 'perfect' choices for mage and thief. Though we sure have no shortage of mages.
  2. Don't count on it. ToB has its own quorks.
  3. Good to see you back. I started losing hope, but hey, it's one case when it's cool to be wrong!
  4. And done! Well, take it with the grain of salt, of course, because the mortal enemies can have a brief moment of understanding and the best friends quarel
  5. This is a very simplified description of NPC-NPC relationships. It does not take into account romantic polygons with PC romances. H - hate, D - dislike, A - ambivalence, L - like, R - romantic feelings, S - special Diriel: Hildury (H), Jaemal (D), Nikosh (L), Nord (H), Peony (L), Prachi (D), Rizdaer (A), Salomeya (H), Valeero (H) Hildury: Diriel (D), Jaemal (L), Nikosh (L), Nord ®, Peony (A), Prachi (L), Rizdaer (D), Salomeya (H), Valeero (L) Jaemal: Diriel (D), Hildury (L), Nikosh (A), Nord (A), Peony (L), Prachi (A), Rizdaer (A), Salomeya (S), Valeero (L) Nikosh: Diriel (A), Hildury (S), Jaemal (L), Nord (A), Peony (L), Prachi (L), Rizdaer (D), Salomeya (H), Valeero (L) Nord: Diriel (H), Hildury (L), Jaemal (A), Nikosh (D), Peony (A), Prachi (L), Rizdaer (D), Salomeya (H), Valeero (L) Peony: She likes everyone and has a crash on Rizdaer Prachi: Diriel (A), Hildury (L), Jaemal (D), Nikosh (L), Nord (L), Peony (A), Rizdaer (S), Salomeya (A), Valeero (L) Rizdaer: Distrustful of everyone, puzzled by Peony, amused by Salomeya Salomeya: Who knows! 6. The progress report is half-a-year old, unfortunately
  7. I wish you to keep your sanity through it! It sounds pretty complex, but it could be very lively too.

    It was a different Cam
  9. Well, you left a few clues behind, like mentioning being a proponent of voicing Seriously, it's great to see you around, and good luck on breathing new life into Rowan! Give my regards to Brielbara of Baldur's Gate then
  10. Heh, I was much more modest than that - 20 votes for all romances combined, but it is awsome to see 20 for just one of them in particular. I am glad that the mod proved to be fun - I think that it is exactly the experience we were aiming for to give a player - the sense of choice and, hopefully, a romance that worked the best for their PC. So, thank you very much for taking your time and writing this - it's what makes a mod-maker's work worthwhile when we see stuff like this. And now I just have to ask - you are not by any chance the FW Wynne, Rowan's Wynne? EDIT: deleted the stuff pertaining to what was culled into a separate thread. Also (slaps herself on the forehead) I forgot I wanted to comment on this: Coran's romance is a game of chance, so he can prove the player right or wrong on this account or leave it as a question mark, depending on the dice....
  11. It's good to hear, and yay for this simple and beautiful concept
  12. That's how Tioma's TP2 looks to me - that he is overriding step-by-step the original game files. Thank you for confirming it.
  13. I was wondering if the Kit Creation Tutorial can be applied directly onto IWD2? If not, did anyone of the more advanced coders ever review Tioma's added Cleric Domains for IWD2: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD2/index_mods.php Is his updates "flexible" or does he override anything inflexibly? Is there a possibility of somehow adopting this model for adding just one cleric domain and will such an add-on conflict with Tioma's mod if installed before or after it?
  14. That's v.strange. Can you see a small blue "PM" button in the right corner under Cmorgan's spiffy avatar picture? Because I can definetly PM you

    IWD2NPC FAQ

Heh, I think it's more like it owns me... Damn, no rest for z wicked.
  16. 1) What is IWD2 NPC Project? IWD2 NPC Project adds talkative joinable NPCs in IWD2. 2) Will it be Just like BG2? Not exactly. IWD-series are coded differently than BG-series, so there are certain pluses and minuses for character development. Please, read on as I list the differences. 3) How the Party will be handled? You will have two options – either importing the full pre-created party of 6 NPCs which will appear in your party selection menu as “Nord’s Company†or you can select “New Partyâ€Â, create your Protagonist and add 5 NPCs. You will handle NPC join in and drop out via Import/Export. 4) If I create a Protagonist, will I see banter with him/her? That’s the whole point. Yes, your Protagonist will be treated just like Player1 in BG series. However, unlike BG series you will need to keep him or her in the first slot in order to see the PC dialogues (ie you can move him back for a while if it's needed to win a battle, but for dialogues to trigger s/he has to be the First) 5) Will the Protagonist have a Biography? Yes, your Protagonist will have a background that the NPCs will refer to. IWD2 being IWD2, you can over-write it, but it will not sway the stubborn cast. The background is not overly intrusive though. 6) What kind of Banter will I be able to see? The main four types of banter: inter-party generic banter (NPCs talk to NPCs); scenery banter (NPC commenting on the events or interjecting into existing dialogues); Friendship Sequences with PC; Romantic Sequences with PC. 7) Will the project be Phased? I am not sure how I am going to release it – I would prefer to release the whole thing, but I work in Phases to better manage the workload. Phase I are NPC-NPC Banter and NPC-PC Friendship Sequences; Phase II are Scenery Dialogues and Phase III are Romantic Sequences. 8) How many characters are/will be added? Ten characters. 9) I have a wonderful IWD2 NPC idea! Can you add it into your mod? I’d like to finish the basic pack of ten before talking about any other NPCs. But please feel free to take a look at how the project works, and create an NPC that will banter with my characters as a separate mod. 10) Do you need any help? Very much so, and of all sorts. Please refer to the Help! Thread. 11) When it's going to be publically available? It's available now from G3 downloads page. 12) Will there be an IWD1 NPC pack after IWD1TUTU is finished? I personally have no plans to develop it, but if IWD2NPC works, there is no reason why someone wouldn't want to develop something similar for IWD1, either TUTU or vanilla. 13) Can I create more than one custom character? Not without tweaking. The dialogues with Player1 unfortunately only works if you have one custom created character (or tweaked another custom created character with NI to have a different script name) and he remains in the first slot. 14) Can I use custom content (soundsets, portraits) for my own characters? Yes, you definetly can. Two quorks though: -you cannot preview a voice set from the character creation screen (though it will play in-game) - installing the module causes lags on some systems in some areas.
  17. I'd think so. Dyna's quest will be the the big unknown, but you don'rt have to initiate it if you are worried, or just save before initiating it and reload if it starts breaking down on you.
  18. Yes, Dyna's quest is the lucky one that got into the game. No, TRA'fying itself won't take long; it's fixing and testing that is the time-consuming thing. There is a lot to test because apart from the old trustworthy bugs Cmorgan is squashing, codes were updated by Cmorgan to a newer stuff, and he did some shuffling that in the long run will improve the performance, but in the short run can cause new bugs to crop up. Seeing how it is testing for a jolly bunch of 25 NPCs and since the aim is to release z "final-final" version, there is no real way to guesstimate when that release is going to be.
  19. Yes, Cmorgan coded the quest for Dynaheir that I wrote some time ago. It's one of the 5 quests that we did not have manpower to implement. The other new components (appart from loads of bugfixes are): -NPCs when dismissed will now have an option to wait for you in a particular "safe" location - a few inss are used for that purpose -Tweaked a bit "happiness" file to make neutral NPC make "happy" sounds in mid-reputation range (before they always bitched, no matter what rep you had) -Added new timers for romances - 1.5 hours -Shar-Teel got an additional talk reacting to Ranger or Paladin "falling", that will now initiate her romance -4 NPCs (Quayle, Tiax, Eldoth and Alora) moved to new locations accessible in Chapter 2 -To accomodate that move we are trying to add more interjections, but so far only did some progress on Tiax, but it might or might not be included -Jastey also wants to add new flirts for Ajantis The big thing that was not realized yet, but needs be done is TRA'fying the mod, that will make it possible to translate it into different languages.
  20. ZOMG! BG1NPC is dead! JK. Cmorgan does incredible amount of work with Yeslick's devotion and Alora's enthusiasm. Bugs are being fixed, new stuff added, old codes updated to newer and shinier ones. Thanks to the Bigg and Cam a couple of lovely extras were added. As for release date, this time, guys, it will be done when it will be done, seeing how we've commited to TRA'fy this version. I think the quick summary of things that are being tested now are Bug reports corrections and codes improvements; Move to the inn; Alternative starting locations; Enable neutral NPCs "happy" sounds in the mid-reputation range; Dynaheir's quest; Shar-Teel's additional dialogues for fallen ranger/paladin. And yep, you've all heard it before, but the more testing help Cmorgan will get, the faster the release will come....
  21. Thank you. Many things went into Shar's romance - Kish' groundwork, Cliffette's brilliant sense of humor, and Turkish' amazing research for the background, and yours truly stubborness to see it through. I'm always glad to hear that she does find her audience, despite spines and grime and all. It's awsome to read a post like yours, and remember all these things that were discussed, and written, and coded, and tested, and played.... As for votes, if you checked the results of the poll before casting a vote, the forum software registers a 0-vote. But who knows, you might try another one of the romances and we might yet hear back from you
  22. Just wanted to say ma-a-a-ny thanks to the Bigg for helping with the nifty code for moving 4 NPCs to the new starting locations. A bit more patience, beheading... er... working with Alora, and it should be ready for testing as well. Again, this component will allow you to find Alora, Eldoth, Quayle and Tiax before Chapter 4.
  23. No problems. Btw, not sure if it's going to help any, but in the interest of full disclosure, lol, we have an alternative for Branwen's in game portrait by XVIII included in the BG1NPC portrait pack, where she looks softer and more womanly: http://www.gibberlings3.net/portraits/disp...p?album=2&pos=2
  24. Heh, her BioWARE biography. Tempus, the god she wanted to serve so much, that she left her native village Seawolf (were the position was reserved for males) is a pure diety of Battle, who wants his priests to inspire and lead charges, for glory and victory. Battle, battle and battle. Hence, amazon, a Valkyre, a woman drunk on the battlelust who cherishes the company of warriors. She will talk with the PC, I trust, in the romance about both Tempus and his doctrine, and why she had to leave her village.
