  1. Good luck if you decide to do it and have fun
  2. Coran is definetly a great character to write for with a very wide range and possibilities. I think that only Shar-Teel/Faldorn were more fun and easier to write for than Coran. If anyone ever does Coran-BG2, they are welcome to use any of the ideas and background offered in BG1NPC Kivan is the 'swan song' as far as my own involvement with BG modding is concerned.
  3. 1. BG1 Banter Sequence (Initiated from PID); most of them happen at night and before going to bed. ~The stars were falling. A rare and precious sight, yet it fills my soul with sadness and longing.~ ~I wanted to ask you, <CHARNAME>... What are you thinking of when you are watching sunsets? There was an emotion written on your face I did not quite understand.~ ~Do you know what "Shilmista" means in Common tongue?~ ~We parted abruptly, <CHARNAME>, and I never got a chance to tell you, how terrified I was for you...~ ~'Quel undome, a'maelamin Deheriana. Good night, my beloved Deheriana.~ ~I have noticed that you are the only one who does not try to change the subject when I mention Deheriana.~ 2. Catching Up Friendly Cycle ~You have changed, <CHARNAME>.~ ~How did the mage manage to capture you, mellonamin?...~ ~I still cannot come to terms with Khalid and Dynaheir's deaths. ~ ~Tell me, <CHARNAME>, what occupied your time in Baldur's Gate, after my departure for Shilmista?~ ~I wonder what have become of our other companions. Do you know their fate?~ 3. Event Related Longer Conversations - bundled in cycles if depend on one another ~<CHARNAME>, I have noticed a handful of acorns in your pack.~ // PC has Driad's Acorns ~It might be helpful if you could recount as much as possible about your captor, <CHARNAME>.~ //if talked about acorns ~One thing you have said about your captor troubles me. To heal this monster?~ //killed avatar in UE quest ~Immortality… why does it beacon humans so that they are ready to commit any crime for it?~ //Lavok is dead, PC is Human before Ch5 ~(Kivan walks over to Tazok's dead body and stares at it for a long moment. A chilling look comes into his eyes.)~ //Killed Tazok ~<CHARNAME>, we have forgotten again to buy dried fruits. It must be the thirty-seventh time -~ //allowed Kivan take Tazok's heart in previous ~When had you first realized that evil was not a thing of stories, but was present in your life and very close?~//same as previous ---> starts PID talk about Snowflakes ~<CHARNAME>, I need... Hurting?~//PC lost his/her soul, at rest ~(Magical rope or not, the climb down the endless shaft was no easy feat.) // got to Underdark via Suhaugin City ~It is the full measure of your captor's vileness that he came this way and that he would treat with the drow.~ // after spending some time in Ust-Natha ~And yet another one of my guild falls. CREDITS

It sounds really nice for continuity purposes. I'd say go ahead, and credit the project
  5. I think that the new public release needs to have a beta tag for a while, to give a warning that the mod is fresh and could have a missed bug, or a grammar glitch. Especially if the # of beta-testers is not high. Which may not be the case for Aklon, but will be for Kivan.
  6. Hey, Rob, glad to see you working again. You might consider what I am thinking of doing with Kivan: 1) Finish SoA and put the SoA into closed Beta. 2) Work on ToB part. 3) Put ToB into closed beta 4) Fix all the stuff reported in SOA portion. 5) Fix the stuff reported in ToB part 6) Release the whole thing open beta.
  7. OKay, I confess to writing some five talks in Xan's romance. But I hope that nobody can identify which ones, since the goal was complying with Kulyok's Xan romantic voice
  8. I am glad to hear that - we are really lucky to have that last minute, brilliant romance in And yay! we are only 8 votes away from my standard "it was worth it" rate of 20 approvals.
  9. Yep, I think that's what Herd said. Rabain, I think that his left ear still needs to be erased further to hide behind the bow staff. The left one - and I don't know if it shows up on the smaller version of the portrait - looks like you did a vertical cut, so imo there need to be some lighter flesh around the darker portion to make it look more natural
  10. Hi, Rabain, thank you. I think that the left ear will be behind the bowstaff kincky or no. The FR drawing seems to have the ear point of departure from the head at about the browline and the tip extends to about the hairline - I have the reference drawing attached to the 'blonde elf' thread
  11. Oh, grooovy. I think, I will put it aside for now, untill I have finished all of SoA.
  12. heh, well, we have had a girlie chat and 'twas decided that cute but not elven enough, so I tried my best in ear-showing. Seems I need to leave it to the professionals. Mebbe he is a long-hair, short-ear kind.
  13. I was playing with showing some ear on it. Better, worse, ambivalent?
  14. Dorotea joins BG1NPC project to do a component which was discussed before a few times, and never made yet: adding the option to send the joinable NPCs to a standardized meeting place and the alternative starting locations for Alora, Quayle, Tiax and Eldoth. So far, the plan is that depending on NPC and chapter it is going to be a FAI, Elfsong, Blushing Mermaid or a special location.
  15. That sounds interesting Wow, Rob, you are really thorough.
  16. 'Tis no problem, our computer room is in shambles with only one system accessible, and it runs vanilla BG2.
  17. Oh, gosh, of course not! The things that will interest me off hand are Kagain's Caravan subplot, Dynaheir's and Imoen's dream reactions. Don't forget that you will need to up the value on every script and D file for Global, GlobalLT and GlobalGT.
  18. I simply don't know, and I would not untill a few people would run a compatible alpha on 6/16.
  19. I will wait till TUTU team will be officially recommending TUTU 6 for the install for a new player. V11 was tested on TUTU4+13 (and, I guess, 15), so after I have the confirmation on 6+16 being stable, I would bite the bullet, reinstall TUTU and run at least one game under this configuration before releasing a public version with the upgrade to TUTU6 and the bug fixes.
  20. Please, see a pinned thread five steps down
  21. heh, thank you and I am glad that you've enjoyed the romances. While I was thinking of Moiraine Damodred a few times while writing for Dynaheir, there is only one open reference in a PC option to the Wheel of Time in the texts that I remeber of. The rest of associations is there because Wychlaran, Aes Sedai and Bene Gessarit have many things in common. And, to be honest, I think that the first two are to a greater or lesser degre the rip-off of the latter.
  22. Kivan's original portrait is lovely and I am very glad to use it as the default, but for people who like to have a bit of a new look for their old characters I will be including Herd's custom alternative portrait for Kivan in the next version of the mod. So that you know what to expect and make your choice, here it is
  23. JPS, it depends on how you are handling the quests; if the romance just reffers to them, then yep, I am all for a separate release. If, on the other hand, the connections are much stronger, such as extra options, or romance depends on the advancement of each quest, I would suggest not to test it until you have the roamcne ready, since you would have to retest it anyway once the romance is added. Moreover, it's extremely annoying to add changes into the complex quests' coding retroactively.
  24. Yet, it would be nice to have the Globals transferred to know which talks the PC had seen in BG; it would be nice to have your own party, not the usual dungeon company; Imoen can be always explained away, unless you did slaughter her, by Irenicus finding her on his own. If Imoen was killed, I'd introduce the another-Bhaalspawn-imprisoned-who-was-not-Imoen character, who came to you and your party help. Then saving him/her is sort of a payback. (Shrug) Anyway, I'd prefer this, however lame, to the current 'You have had these 5 along with you...' set up.
