  1. And yup, finished Elhan! Now it's just the outcomes left on the writing front. I wish coding was as successful. Heh, I expect it will be really tough to get back into it after 2 weeks. Oh, well.
  2. Thank you! Now I can divide and conque- er. Have it all edited.
  3. Heya, everyone. Well, I am back, though I didn't manage to do as much writing as I hoped during my vacations I am almost done with the romantic scenes though - finishing up the last one, Elhan's.

    Party advice?

Thanks, and good luck; that would be a fun party

    Party advice?

Heya. You can import as many characters as you wish at any stage of the game. The main thing is to keep your 'main' character in the first slot (you can export and reimport him or her), and make sure s/he is the only custom character. Each of the mod NPCs have creatures at different levels, so you can play with it. Make sure to initiate conversations from your player-initiated menue with all the characters to 'catch-up' on their stories that would have come up earlier in the game. With a same sex party, you will get a male same-sex romance, but you won't have the romantic conflicts, as the girls are the conflicts for Jaemal's romance there. Another thing with the same-sex party is that lots of interesting relationship are actually cross-gender (romantic or not), ie Nord and Hildury, Valeero and Diriel, etc. To max out the girls bickering betweem each other you actually will need the male lead, a half orc, then all the eligible ladies will interject: Hildury, Prachi, Salomeya and Peony. If you add Jaemal to it, then you will have an insane amount of hormones going wild there. By the same token, Jaemal, Rizader, Diriel and Nikosh for a female halfling or a gnome character with either Salomeya or Peony thrown into the mix will give a maximum romantic content for a female PC. I hope that helps!
  6. LATEST EDITS: Another attempt at fixing the scripts and dialogues: I have uploaded 2 fixes on the Vault: one for dialogues (Veedle, some small corrections) and one - for the scripts (Marcus, SIx Sisters, etc). If you chose to use those, I would like to hear back if it fixes any problems. I am particulary worried about the LT5 (after the Trial). Please, let me know immediately if it causes the cutscene to 'never end'. I like this talk, but it could be that I will have to let it go or 'push' it into the Player-initiated dialogues. OLD: I have made a quick update to the module: 1) Main module download is upgraded to V1.1 and includes the fixed dialogue files. ReplaceDLG is still available for those running V01, so no need to re-download anything. The new users will now only have to dl one file (V1.1) 2) Saved game now includes Merchant Quarter Z file, so keeping my fingers corssed that it will help you to play through Chapter 2 if you are trying to use the save. 3) Both large downloads are changed to 7z compression format from rar. OBSOLETE: I finally managed to get clued in into an issue a few people reported earlier - sorry for being so dense!- and uploaded a hot fix to make sure that 4 dialogues are working properly. I also tried yet again to address the issue of the flirts - hopefully they will work much slower now. Please, if you are playing with Bishop's romance, upload the fix at the Vault: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2M...tail&id=201 The file is called Replace_DLG and the instructions are there in the file description.
  7. After a few hours of hitting the snags, I finally get my first intro cutscene working - well it's difficult part, with actions and movement. Now it's just a question of time to finish the non-companion related dialogues in the first area. Figured out how Journaling works in NWN2. Not very difficult, thankfully, I was worried. And once the finger work is done, I will have to embark on the amazing adventure of exploring the companion and influence system NWN2 style.
  8. Anyone's interested in editing an arachnophobic drow's texts?
  9. Yay, finished the last short encounter. And I've got Alianna's dialogues back from Ycvflute.
  10. I took some time off of modding in the past week to play a little bit more of MotB, because, well, it is a good game and it is no good to stew in your own creation for too long. So, I did not quite move far on the coding front. Not farther than finding things that don't work at any rate. Other than that I did a fair bit of writing: Finished Alianna's stuff and soundset, wrote two encounters - Mother Keys and sort of an ironic take on the prophecies, and am now making my way through writing the last of the encounters. Hey, once I am done that I can actually strike out the item 1 off the to do list at last!

    IWD2NPC FAQ

Added Q14, covering custom content use and the voice work quork reported by the bigg.
  12. Oh, thank you! I've sent Alianna's file to ycfluite, but it should only take me a couple of days to pull together a couple more short files, like soundsets and the one or two small encounters texts.
  13. Heya, folks! Is anyone kind enough to take a look at my most evil female character yet?
  14. Wee! Finished Alianna's main dialogue cycle! I think I will actually do a couple of the comic relief characters before doing the romantic scenes. Alianna was really on the dark side.
  15. Heya, so the romance is there, you don't have to double back (unless you want to see PC's comments.) Basically, when you see him in Flaggons before he joins the party, he has a few typicla smart-ass remarks to the female PC who'd talk to him, and I added come backs for the PC to some of them. It's not much, really. You probably haven't triggered the previous dialogues because you moved the party or something like that. It helps sometimes to let party cool down for a few seconds after the dialogues that have Bishop's reactions to them. unfortunately, the only reliable dialogue triggers in NWN2 are the area triggers, and since I can't modify the areas I have to use the 'second best'. I hope the rest of the mod is trouble-free for you.
  16. Jackie, if it's before he joined the party, you can return to the Flaggons from it and check if the barkstring additions show up (juist go through the whole offensive cycle and see if your PC gets any come back options). I will test on 1.11.053 or whatever I have tonight to see if your problem is local.
  17. Okay, if you have a pre-Blake Lake save (please, keep it until we make it work), then your trial point can be the Gnomish Artist. Bishop should interject where the Gnome praises Shandra's unearthly beauty. If he doesn't then by whatever reason the Override doesn't work. Try placing it into the other Override as well, to see if it helps. Which version of the game are you using? (I keep living in fear that Obsidian updates one day to prohibit OC editing).
  18. No, the content consistently doesn't trigger, so it looks like the files are not over-writing stuff properly. The only time I have seen it so far was when the installation was wrong. Do you happen to have a save either before going to Flaggons before he joins in or prior to saving Shandra in Gith base? Those saves will help you test your installation the easiest. In the Flaggons, you should be able to see PC's answers to some of his barkstrings. In Gith Base, there will be additional subdialogue with Shandra after he invites her to bed him. Can you, perhaps copy-paste for me the path to your BishopRomance Folder that will show up in the browser window if you open the folder? (If you don't want to do it on the forum, just PM it to me).
  19. No, that shouldn't matter. As long as it is in the Atari Override folder, it should work. Also, as long as it is un-rared it should be fine, it can remain in a folder. Have you seen any content at all yet, ie did he comment on the first convo you initiated with him and paid for his thoughts, or you've gotten any additional options to reply to him in the Flaggons?
  20. Have been trying to set up my first two areas, and starting to run into my first problems with not really being familiar with the Toolset. Got a dialogue that unexplicably crashes, and a character that gets attacked by everyone instead of attacking the Protagonist. I guess, I am into the new learning phase (after having had one with the area building.) I hope it will not be awfully long.
  21. If the romance is not running at all, the first thing to check if your un-rared the file in the My Documents/NeverwinterNights2 folder's Override or the Atary/NeverwinterNights2 folder's Override. It HAS to go in the Atari's Override unlike the 'regular' mods, because it modifies the OC. If you don't have the RomanceInactive, that means you have not done anything wrong. Can you expand on the nature of your problem if it's not the issue above ie installed in the wrong Override or you did not un-rar the file.)

    Party advice?

Nope, not really. My goal was to design a set of NPCs that people can pick and chose from to derive the maximum enjoyement from their run through IWD2. Seeing which parties the people end up with, and which characters they hate and love is the pay off for making this mod. And sometimes the best way to decide is to make a short trial run switching the NPCs around.
