  1. Barring using a mike with built-in noise reduction, paper will work, as will other material such as thin foam or mesh, a la a real microphone wind screen. If you have thin foam padding, maybe some that was once used for protection around a computer part during shipment, that should do the trick. You can also try placing a piece of pantyhose/stockings between your mouth and the microphone. I recommend asking your mother/sister/wife before stealing a pair.
  2. That's my sister Imoen?!?! Hubba hubba!
  3. I'm afraid this would be out of the question, because often times recording a show is spontaneous even for me. Plus, I wouldn't want modders to rush through their work just so they could make it in time for the next IER episode. In all honesty, no matter when they finish their mod, it will be announced on a future episode. Therefore, they can take comfort in that fact.
  4. Chev, I appreciate you posting the latest episode of IER in the Latest News at sorcerers.net.
  5. There is no "it depends" option in the poll, but that would be my answer. Some female dwarves I picture with beards, some I do not. Honestly, it's up to the creator of said character.
  6. Thanks all. Yeah, a few people commented that spelling out every URL was a bit tedious. I was hesitant to shy away from that method, since I want to be sure all authors receive due credit. They still receive full credit, as everything is in the show notes.
  7. For those of you that have been waiting, you'll be pleased to know that Episode 15 has been released. http://ier.iegmc.com
  8. Infinity Engine Radio Rejoice! After a long hiatus, IER has returned! Countless detailed news stories are in Episode 15, plus some feedback about the Question of the Week. 9. The Modlist may be able to help. Have a look, I already saw links to IWD soundsets, as well as some I converted from IWD/HoW to BG/BG2. Scroll down on the page linked below to see my stuff. http://modlist.pocketplane.net/index.php?a...8&cat_id=38
  10. Ahh, Linux! Pico is my favorite text editor (and for HTML too) for *nix. I digress though, since this thread is not about text editors. So, to bring it back on topic, what happened to HotDog? It used to be popular back in the day.
  11. A blunt, yet honest answer to last episode's Question of the Week is of one many things in Episode 14! http://ier.iegmc.com
  12. Infinity Engine Radio A response to the last Question of the Week plus a slew of news and happenings in IE Modding Community headline Episode 14 of IER! 13. To add to the name game, you may want to let Ascension64 know of any issues you find with Mulgore & Xavia since he has ported a version to BGT-WeiDU.
  14. Holy schnikies! $90 for a DVD burner?!?! True, there is no point buying a CD burner since a DVD burner can burn CD's as well, but there is also absolutely no reason why anybody should pay $90 for a DVD burner! Your boyfriend must have bought it at a retail place like Circuit City or Best Buy. Sadly, I think that was mistake #1. From time to time, retail brick & mortar stores have cheap DVD burners, but only after sending in a mail-in rebate. That's how they get you. If you want the same burner that you can buy at Circuit City/Best Buy for (in this case) a third of the price, buy it online from a reputable vendor such as Newegg.com or Zipzoomfly.com. Since you live in Jersey, berelinde, you will pay sales tax when purchasing from Newegg, but there are lots of other reputable vendors out there which sell DVD burners for cheap. Pricewatch.com and Resellerratings.com are your friends. You can also buy hard drives for cheaper online than in brick & mortar stores. As for Spinrite and Steve Gibson, well, has there ever been a person or product that has *not* received bad press? There will always be people writing about how a person or product stinks, but it is only their opinion. Chances are, they were personally disappointed with the software, but are only a small minority of the population. I say, form your own opinions about the man and his product. Listen to him on Security Now or watch him on Call for Help on G4/TechTV in Canada.
  15. Ah! Spinrite! Steve Gibson at grc.com is the man! A little long-winded, but he knows his stuff, including hard drive tools and recovery. I definitely recommend Spinrite, although, your hard drive is still readable...for now...but hey, it never hurts to have the software "just in case."
