  1. LOL!! No, I like Ajantis a lot. It's just when the Protagonist dies, it's GAME OVER. When Ajantis dies, I can just have him Raised. And if he has above a certain hp threshold, the Nereid's kiss doesn't actually kill him, just hurts him a lot. A huge lot! Actually, I always thought that Shoal the Nereid might go for the male with the highest CHA. So maybe when she went for Ajantis, my Protagonist was a female Gnome Illusionist/Thief, so Ajantis had the highest male CHA in that party anyway.
  2. So it's based on Party leader. OK, I'll remember that. My Protagonist is a Fighter-Druid with 19 CHA due to the Tome, but I sometimes put Ajantis in charge, like when the Nereid uses her Death Kiss, or when fighting Basilisks, in case they aim for the leader first. Cheers!
  3. Thanks for all that! I appreciate it! So high CHA, as well as reputation, does actually affect prices? Excellent! Is this based on the character who speaks to the shop keeper, or just the Protagonist? Cheers!
  4. Do all the shops generally buy and sell for the same price? I have noticed that if I sell a bunch of the same item, and later sell another bunch of the same item, their buying price has dropped. But to get the most gold, should I move back and forth between Friendly Arm, Beregost, High Hedge and Nashkel to sell my booty? I have the Bag of Holding now, so it's easy to stack up 40 or 50 Composite Longbows and Halberds and so on. Is there a resource for the best prices at the in the game? Cheers!
  5. Yes, I know how it works. But the first two Rangers are Minsc and Kivan and they start with Specialisation in Two-Handed Sword and Halberd respectively. In one game I gave Minsc Specialisation in Mace and then Mastery of Two Weapon Style as he levelled up, so he wielded the Stupifier and a Mace +1. Great for skeletons! A Single Class Fighter is cool as, in BG, Two Weapon Style does not required a lighter and shorter weapon in their off hand. So a Fighter can have Two Weapon Style +++ and Long Sword +++++ by level 12. The only problem is they have to fight in melee all the time, and things like Web and Fireball can be a little dangerous. Anyway, I just met Coran in Cloakwood. He is an Elven Fighter/Thief, not a Ranger, but he was Mastery of longbow, specialisation in long sword and better DEX than either Minsc or Kivan. He just has pretty crappy STR and CON. Anyway, I dumped Minsc for Coran, despite his poor STR, as we don't need to hump Ankheg shrells anymore as we have 5 suits of Ankheg armour.
  6. Cheers, guys, I'll store that for future reference. I started a new game, anyway, so all's well so far.
  7. OK, thanks, I'll try that on an older save. I already dumped her at the FAI. I saved before hand, just in case, as the BACK button does not work at all when Dual Classing. So you can't go part way just to see what happens. You have to fully dual class, or not click on Dual Class at all.
  8. No, the only mods I have are from The Tweaks Anthology. But Illusionist and Transmuter are not "kits". In First Edition they would have been subclasses of Magic User (although Transmuter did not exist), in 2nd edit they are Specialists in the Wizard Schools of Illusion and Alteration Magick. A "kit" would be something like the Blade, which is a Bard with some special bonuses and some penalties, or a Ranger Savage or Fighter Wizard Slayer, or something like that. But Imoen is a Human Thief, and she has at least 15 in her prime requisites (DEX 18) and at least 17 in the prime requisites of the Transmuter and Illusionist classes (INT 17 and DEX 18), so she should be able to dual class into either of those, not just a Mage. I do recall that the base BG game only allows dual classing into a viable demi-human multi-class, so no Paladin/Sorcerers or Bard/Sorcerers! And it thinks that Illusionist/Thief is allowed only to Gnomes, even as a human Dual Class. Anyway, I left her at the Friendly Arm when I realised she would not be just a weak Thief but also a weak Mage. I'll give Dynaheir a go when we rescue her, although her vocal responses are second in irritation only to Jaheira, at least as far as I remember! Cheers!
  9. 90% is a bit excessive. I notice that sling bullet damage is also resisted. My Fighter/Cleirc mashes them with his Mace +1. Why can I not dual class Imoen to Transmuter or Illusionist? She has 18 DEX and 17 INT. And I installed the modification for dual-classing, but it seems I can still make her only a Mage. Cheers!
  10. I made a Dwarf Fighter/Cleric, but now I wish I'd made a Half/Elf Fighter/Druid. I have EE Keeper, but I can't see the race and class. Is it possible to change race from Dwarf to Half-Elf and class from Fighter/Cleric to Fighter/Druid? I also cannot see where the Lore value is recorded. We only got as far as hiring Ajantis, saving Dynaheir and getting Minsc and Branwen, so I could start a new game again, I suppose. Cheers!
  11. Ah, OK. Is the BoH in Tweaks Anthology? I started a new game with my own custom portraits from other games. I mage a Gnome Illusionist/Thief and a Dwarf Fighter/Cleric. Now I wish I'd made a Half-Elf Fighter/Druid instead! I have Ajantis and Minsc and we rescued Dynamohum and then sent her off onto the Nashkel Carnival map to fight kobolds so I could get Branwen. I wish Minsc or Kivan used two weapon style, though. It seems daft to have rangers that use bow and two-handed weapons. I usually let new NPCs join to get their gold and any decent gear and then kick them. I stole Neera;s Gem Bag and got the Scroll Case and bought the Potion Case. But I bypassed Kivan at High Hedge. when the party is level 1, there's were only two skeletons. I don't know why they have such high damage resistance, skeletons usually take half damage from piercing and slashing, full damage from blunt. I don't know if I did anything to change the NPCs, as last time Dynaheir had dagger proficiency, and this time she had sling, which is more useful. Cheers!
  12. Yes, I meant when actually installing it. It asks if I want it to display this or that but doesn't say during installation what each set contains, and the indivdual mods don't say in much detail. EG it might say XP Cap Remover, which is pretty obvious and self-explanatory, but some are more vague, say, something like "Helmet Fixes". But I daresay I will read the ReadMe thoroughly at some point!
  13. Cheers, thanks for that. There's a huge number of mods in that pack, and I said NO to those that didn't look like they had the XP Cap Remover, which I think was in Rules Changes. And it still took ages to go through it! I picked a few others as well, of course, like Grand Mastery fixes. So I'll get on to it ASAP! Cheers!
  14. Oh yes, I recall now, ITM files. I'll try with the Tweak Anthology. But which component is it in? It took long enough just to get to the XP cap!
  15. Yes, I could add more mods, although the plethora of mods in that Anthology doesn't really say what they do. But the question was, how do *I* edit stack size? There was a time I could just edit the relevant 2DA file, but now they all seem to be compiled in BIF files. Cheers!
  16. I recall back in the day, arrows, darts, throwing daggers and sling bullets stacked to 20. In BG EE, they stack to 80 for arrows and bullets, and 40 for the others. How do I edit them to stack to 100 each? I have the EE version of Gate Keeper, but that only lets me stack to in-game max or max possible, which seems to be 64k. I also want Goodberries to stack to 1000, if at all possible. Stacks of 10 take up too much bag space! Cheers!
  17. I think the earlier suggestion, that putting him on that map is poor design, is more accurate. They may be "near worthless", but they are worth something. And at the beginning of the game, something is a lot more valuable than nothing. I now have a good stock of Bullets of Fire, Darts of Fire, and Arrows +1. So we went back to the Bergost Temple and killed the Vampiric Wolf. But most of my cash has come from selling scrolls and gems. A pearl necklace goes for 500 gold! So now I tend to leave the heavier stuff behind. Bows have a decent weight to gold ratio. I already have a Scroll Case, a Gem Bag and a Potions Case. Two dropped from somewhere and the third I bought at, IIRC, the Nashkel Carnival. I forget where to get the Bag of Holding, as I've not played for more than 10 years. But it's good fun so far!
  18. And how does one go from High Hedge to the Bandit Camp when we have yet to set foot in Nashkel?
  19. Yes, I wonder why he's even on the High Hedge map. I tend to go there before even going to Nashkel, to see if there are any goodies I can afford and so on. It would make a lot more sense if he was in Peldvale or Larswood, or somewhere in the Wood of Sharp Teeth. I came across Viconia and Shar-Teel somewhere around there. But I'll know next time! Another thing I learned was having Branwen is pretty important for killing Mulahey. A judicious use of Chant and Silence, 15 feet radius, made all the difference. So I later dumped Jaheira at the Friendly Arm.
  20. I downloaded cdtweaks-v15.exe, extracted in it's own folder, but how do I install it? I just want the XP Cap Remover so my Fighter can dual class to Druid at Fighter 9 instead of Fighter 8. I tried putting the loose 2DA files in the Data folder but they have no effect. I tried putting the XP cap fixes in a 2DA folder in Data. but that still has no effect. It seems I am supposed to use setup-cdtweaks.exe, but there is no such file. I do have setup-cdtweaks.tp2 EDIT: My own stupid fault, the exe was one step up in the directory structure. I seem to have installed it now! Cheers!
  21. Yes, that's where I got the 2DA files, but how do I install them? I downloaded cdtweaks-v15.exe, as the other two files looked like they were for Macintosh and Linux, but I cannot seem to install the XP changes. It seems I am supposed to use setup-cdtweaks.exe, but there is no such file. I do have setup-cdtweaks.tp2 EDIT: My own stupid fault, the exe was one step up in the directory structure, I seem to have installed it now! Cheers!
  22. How do I remove the XP cap from BG1? I want my Fighter to get to level 9 before dual classing to Druid, rather than level 8, so he needs 250,000 XP I vaguely recall TeamBG tools for extracting BIF files from Chitin.key, but Enhanced Edition has Chitin.key and a bunch of BIF files in data. The XP cap.2da is in Default.bif. I tried adding loose 2DA files to data, but it's not working. It works for games like Skyrim where extracted, loose files take priority over bsa files, but I can't seem to get this idea to work with BG1 EE. Cheers!
  23. Not really, I was clearing the maps on the way to Gnoll Fortress and going back to town to sell loot.
