  1. Ok, it appears I was probably wrong. This time around I'm offered the XP cap component. I'm pretty sure my install options for cdtweaks (everything before is exactly identical) are probably a little different than before, so it could theoretically be a bad interaction between components somehow.
  2. I have the thing in a VirtualBox VM and I think I have a snapshot from just before starting to install cdtweaks, so I'll give it another go tomorrow just to make 100% sure. (I'm using BGT just for clarification.)
  3. Am I just going mad or is the prompt for changing the XP cap no longer happening in v8? Install Component [Delay High Level Abilities]? [I]nstall, or [N]ot Install or [Q]uit? Skipping [Delay High Level Abilities] Install Component [Change Experience Point Cap]? [N]o, [Q]uit or choose one: 1] Remove Experience Cap 2] Level 20 Experience Point Cap 3] Level 30 Experience Point Cap Already Asked About [Change Experience Point Cap] Already Asked About [Change Experience Point Cap] I'm 99%+ sure that I was actually never prompted about the XP cap. I'll attach the WeiDU log, but the debug log is too big for the forum. Let me know if you need it and I'll find somewhere to host it. (About the WeiDU.log: I did continue past the 'expected' place for the prompt for changing the XP cap, but I was never actually prompted.) WeiDU-V30-borkbork.log
  4. This may be a bit of a feature request, but it's been bugging me since v21 (or thereabouts): Could the Genie summoned by the Efreeti bottle be excluded from the "Smarter Genies" component? The "improved" AI makes it completely useless because it'll just override direct orders given to it to e.g. cast fireballs (you can sometimes force it, but it requires lots and lots of pausing and "re-casting" if that makes sense). The genie is already pretty useless, but at least you could use the "dumb" version tactically by using positioning and casting its spells "deliberately". For now, I've gone with just not installing the component, but I'd actually like enemy genies to be as annoying as possible :).
  5. @DavidW I'm seeing the same error as @Buzda , but with when installing the Spellcasting Demiliches component. Is this also addressed by your fix for their issue? (I have stashed away copies of the debug log and WeiDU.log so far, but cannot upload due to the forum's size restrictions. Let me know if you need them, and I'll try to find some other way to get them uploaded.)
  6. I can confirm that installing Strawberry 32-bit and setting use_perl_natively=1 appears to work! I haven't played a full game or anything, but the install proceeds past the first SSL-requiring bit and starting a fresh game looks like it works.
  7. Ah, OK. Sounds like it won't be usable for creating a packaged up EXE, but hopefully it'll be sufficient for doing your suggested workaround. I'll try it later today.
  8. Hm, just had a look 'round and apparently the "Strawberry Perl" distribution for Windows still has a 32-bit version. I'll try your "use_perl_natively" workaround tomorrow! (http://strawberryperl.com/) Just in case it could be used to compile a 32-bit ssl.exe which you could include in the download: What's your command/method for turning ssl.pl into ssl.exe? (I'm assuming it's some sort of bundling mechanism, but I know next to nothing about the Perl ecosystem.)
  9. Here's another one. I believe this one wasn't in Weimer's version. (I pressed 'X' while hovering over the trap.)
  10. Thanks for giving it a shot. It suppose I'll finally have to update my VirtualBox guest machine away from Windows XP :).
  11. If it's not too much bother, I'd very much appreciate it. It should be quick enough for me to test that it can at least start inside my WinXP if you could try to compile for 32-bit and just attach the executable to a post. (Of course, I fully understand if it's too bothersome -- after all WinXP is incredibly out of date at this point )
  12. So, I'm trying to install the latest (RC7) on a Windows XP virtual machine, and I'm getting an error that "SSL.exe is not a Win32 application" during installation. Am I right in thinking that SSL.exe no longer supports Windows XP? (I'm guessing it's a perl interpreter which embeds ssl.pl? Is there any workaround I could try e.g. by installing a Perl interpreter on system-wide and associating with the .PL extension or similar?)
  13. Oh, yes, thank you, I'll add that shortly. (Just heading out the door, but I'll be back in an hour or so.) For now: The game is a classic BG2 + BGT install and I've attached the WeiDU.log to the OP.
  14. SPOILERS BELOW... obviously. I was doing a solo mage run through with a rather underpowered Mage (L19) and decided to try the cowardly "blanket Irenicus' spawn point with Incendiary Cloud" tactic. It works as far as bringing him to Near Death (he takes damage in human form first, then transforms to the Slayer if that matters)... and then he runs away through the portal! Pretty funny, but it results in a game that cannot be finished . For now, I've just done the old Ctrl+Y to move on, but I'm curious if anyone else has seen this? (I've attached my WeiDU.log.) EDIT: Oh, forgot to say: The character is a dual-class with 10M XP (L48) in the primary class (Kensai) and currently about 3.6M (L19) in the secondary (Mage) class -- just in case there might be some sort of level or XP-dependent calculation going on that determines whether enemies flee through doors. WeiDU.log
  15. I've noticed that there are two instances of traps that are not removed by this component. (AFAICT these are not "special" traps and so probably shouldn't be excluded on that basis. I'll also note that the original No Traps or Locks component from BG2 Tweaks v16 did remove these traps.). I've attached screenshots of the two containers. EDIT: (added area codes) x=871, y=267, Area: AR1301 x=1265, y=1331, Area: AR1303: WeiDU.log
  16. If lag causes the forum's JS code to fail then it's a problem in the forum's code, not JS. (I'm no fan of JS, but blaming JS for things like this is absurd since other forums obviously don't have the same problems.) EDIT: ... anyway, sorry about the off-topic-ness. I'll stop complaining now.
  17. Or you could just be a bit web nerdy and make sure you won't ... by selecting all the text and CTRL + C for ones in your life. And you'll never loose a thing again, as it's easy to get it back with CTRL + V. It is not the user's job to preempt errors in forum software. The software could maybe just not... contain obvious UX errors.
  18. It's not lag... there's a JavaScript error when posting: "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'getType' of null". What a PoS forum software[1]. EDIT: Should add: This was with Chromium 45 [1] It also allows you to start typing a post before logging in and then promptly losing everything you've typed when you attempt to actually post it.
  19. @DavidW: If you ever release a new version... 1. Could the Djinn from the Efreeti Bottle please be turned back into its vanilla version (AI-wise)? The current AI makes it all but useless: The first two turns the Djinn is "out" it almost invariably spends casting Invisibilty -- thus making is useless as a distraction and preventing the player from ordering it to cast some more useful spell[1]. It also seems to cast Fire Shield which it does not have in the original game. 2. Could you please add an option to disable the "follow player" behavior of summons -- or just disable it permanently? It wreaks absolute havoc when you require careful positioning of the summons and/or the player (summons can displace the player). It can also interfere rather badly with pathfinding. EDIT: Seriously, these issues are so bad that I sometimes have to abuse closed doors against my own summons! (I'm playing no-reload, so I really don't want to die.) [1] For example, it used to be great for finishing off trolls for characters without access to fire/acid damage. Now... not so much. Hopefully yours,
  20. I'm getting an assertion on entering the MNOoTRH (gah!) on v12. (I don't have the Ajantis mod installed, but a few other mods, among them SCS1/SCS2 v21 which include TobEx.) Any idea if this is something that could conceivably be solved by Tweakpack v13? Let me just add that it's not really a big deal -- although I'm no-reloading it's not a paladin, so it's just about getting a little extra XP for the "fallen paladins" quest.
