1. I've been planning to get back to BG and have been studying the Ease-of-use AI party script to tweak it a little bit to suit my style so here's what I propose: fighter/mages should not cast their melf's meteors automatically; I memorize it for special occasions and don't want it cast immediately after resting: !Class(Myself,FIGHTER_MAGE) !Class(Myself,FIGHTER_MAGE_THIEF) !Class(Myself,FIGHTER_MAGE_CLERIC) Any chance of automating the use of Erinne sling after resting like the belt of fortitude and cloak of the stars? idle thieves should try to look for traps with, for example, something like this: IF CombatCounter(0) !Detect(NearestEnemyOf(Myself)) ActionListEmpty() CheckStatGT(Myself,40,TRAPS) !ModalState(DETECTTRAPS) !ModalState(STEALTH) !StateCheck(Myself,STATE_INVISIBLE) Global("DMWWNoMelee","LOCALS",1) THEN RESPONSE #100 FindTraps() END Also, I found that in every block where there's a see() condition, it is duplicated: IF ActionListEmpty() CombatCounter(0) !Global("DMWWBuff","LOCALS",0) !Detect(NearestEnemyOf(Myself)) !CheckStatGT(Myself,0,SPELLFAILUREPRIEST) HaveSpell(CLERIC_IRONSKIN) See(Myself) See(Myself) CheckStat(Myself,0,STONESKINS) THEN RESPONSE #100 ApplySpellRES("wesalac",Myself) // Improved Alacrity Spell(Myself,CLERIC_IRONSKIN) END Do others have this in their script as well or did something glitch in my installation?
2. I made a mistake. In my unmodded game (except fixpack) he's a dude as well but in my modded game he's female. Strange. That's where the bug lies. It's a +3 weapon and whether description or the weapon should be changed is an open question.
3. - Gromnir's female battle mage and the female mage in Kiser's basement (gromg05.cre and sargrd06.cre respectively) have male voice sets. - bow17.itm (longbow +2) only gives +2 to hit which is inconsistent because other generic longbows and composite longbows +x give +(x+1) to hit. It should give +3 and it's description should also be changed. I've already wrote about the following two in the outstanding fixes thread but noone seems to have noticed: - Azuredge doesn't inflict it's listed +4 damage to undead (tested on a vampire). Spotted in Near Infinity; the effect supposedly granting this damage (unddam4.eff) doesn't exist. Also Azuredge's description doesn't list it's +3 dmg and +3 to hit. Just a cosmetic bug but still. - Roger the fence from sewers under temple district can be asked about Denis' gong after the quest has been completed even if you asked him before. Puts entry in your journal again.
4. You can experiment ingame with ctrl-q to verify this. I've actually done this (though not extensively) and the former seems to be the case i.e. enemy mages play fair and square and use their memorized spells when prebuffing. Except when they're using sequencers/triggers/contingencies of course.
5. I've already tried installing SCS2 with my tweaked spell memorization tables and it handles them very well; SCS2 uses them and adjusts memorized spells of wizards and priests to the tweaked values. However, will it also adjust to a more radical change? I'm talking about changing tables so they give wizards 6-9th level spells one experience level sooner; 6th at 11th, 7th at 13th, 8th at 15th and 9th at 17th experience level and possibly doing the same with 7th level priest spells. Will, for example, 11th level mages understand that they have 6th level spell(s) available and use them?
6. Nothing but fixpack installed. I discovered what appears to be 2 bugs: - Azuredge doesn't inflict it's listed +4 damage to undead (tested on a vampire).
7. Nothing but the following components of fixpack are installed: ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #100 // Party Gets XP for Sending Keldorn to Reconcile With Maria: v8 ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #101 // Improved Spell Animations: v8 ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #102 // Cromwell's Forging Actually Takes a Day: v8 ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #107 // Remove Dual-Classing Restriction from Archers and Stalkers: v8 ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #108 // Remove Second Attribute Bonus for Evil Path in Wrath Hell Trial: v8 ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #112 // Wizard Slayers Cause Miscast Magic on Ranged Attacks: v8 ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #113 // Additional Alignment Fixes: v8 ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #0 // BG2 Fixpack - Core Fixes: v8 ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #1 // BG2 Fixpack - Game Text Update: v8 ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #2 // Super Happy Fun Lucky Modder Pack: v8 ~BG2FIXPACK/SETUP-BG2FIXPACK.TP2~ #0 #3 // BETA Core Fixes (please check the readme!): v8 dart05.itm (asp's nest) has a wrong description. It states that the damage from poison is 1 per 3 seconds but it's actually 1 per second. Teleport field description states that a save vs spells must be made to avoid the effect while in reality no save is allowed. The panic effect from creeping doom seems to be broken. It doesn't affect anyone.
8. If BG2 Tweaks component 'Add Bags of Holding' is installed after Sword Coast Stratagems 2's 'Party's items are taken from them in Spellhold' it will produce a bug; the bag of holding sold in Sorcerous Sundries (c!bag04.itm) will contain helpful hardware that SCS 2 puts in bag04.itm (the bag found in spellhold). I don't know if this bug exists in Tutu as well.
9. There's a bug in X#Andart.bcs (which is a BG1 NPC Project script). So with SCS installed we have this culprit: IF !Allegiance(Myself,ENEMY) Global("DMWWNoNeutralPrebuff","GLOBAL",1) THEN RESPONSE #100 NoAction() END It causes the critical blocks that are at the very bottom of the script to never fire. Moving these lines to the top of the script fixes the problem: IF Global("X#JaheiraHealsB","GLOBAL",5) Detect([PC]) InMyArea("jaheira") !StateCheck("jaheira",CD_STATE_NOTVALID) InMyArea(Player1) !StateCheck(Player1,CD_STATE_NOTVALID) THEN RESPONSE #100 SetGlobal("X#JaheiraHealsB","GLOBAL",6) END IF Global("X#JaheiraHealsB","GLOBAL",6) InMyArea("jaheira") !StateCheck("jaheira",CD_STATE_NOTVALID) InMyArea(Player1) !StateCheck(Player1,CD_STATE_NOTVALID) THEN RESPONSE #100 StartDialogueNoSet([PC]) END IF Global("X#JQBeadorDead","GLOBAL",2) Detect([PC]) InMyArea("jaheira") !StateCheck("jaheira",CD_STATE_NOTVALID) InMyArea(Player1) !StateCheck(Player1,CD_STATE_NOTVALID) THEN RESPONSE #100 SetGlobal("X#JQBeadorDead","GLOBAL",3) END IF Global("X#JQBeadorDead","GLOBAL",3) InMyArea("jaheira") !StateCheck("jaheira",CD_STATE_NOTVALID) InMyArea(Player1) !StateCheck(Player1,CD_STATE_NOTVALID) THEN RESPONSE #100 StartDialogueNoSet(Player1) END IF Global("X#JaheiraQuestAAttack","GLOBAL",1) THEN RESPONSE #100 SetGlobal("X#JaheiraQuestAAttack","GLOBAL",2) ActionOverride("jadruid8a",Enemy()) ActionOverride("takiyah",Enemy()) JumpToPoint([874.2175]) FaceObject(Player1) CreateCreature("_WOLFDR",[-1.-1],0) CreateCreature("_WOLFDR",[-1.-1],0) Enemy() END Obviously they should be at the top and the blocks added by SCS should append the script at the bottom. Other possible bugs: - Genthore (the guy in plate +1) from Drasus' party ran away and entered the guardhouse when affected by Slow. Is this intended behavior? - I managed to lure Lakadaar (the guy north of the cloakwood mine) away from his group; they didn't seem to respond to his shout.
10. You're correct, sorry, I posted this in a wrong thread.
11. I'm feeling like such a geek for pointing this out but there's a teeny tiny bug in tweakpack's xplevel.2da in thief and bard rows, column 40; instead of the usual 220 000 xp required for levelup, they require 320000 (from 6 380 000 to 6 700 000).
12. How about randomizing trap locations as well? After beating the game 20x one can easily remember the location of every single trap in the game. Something like this has already been done for a flesh golem cave in BGT tweak pack and one can even choose whether to have traps randomized per game or per installation. Here's the description from readme: Random activated traps in the pirate cave: Ever thought that tromping around in the cave guarded by Sil’s and her sirines was too easy? This component randomly activates existing inactive traps so that you will never know what to expect each time you re-install this component, unless your stupid thief disarms them all! Note that this component will have no effect if you load a save game where you had already visited the pirate cave before. There are two options for this component: - Install-time randomisation: Different traps are set every time you re-install this component - Game-time randomisation: Different traps are set every time you first enter the pirate cave in your game
13. There are 2 files that are causing this; bgbishop.cre and dopkie.cre. I tried opening them with NI and couldn't (nothing happens when I click on them). Searching for them in backups of installed mods revealed a few results the latest of which is component #6070 of SCS v9 (Imp. Durlag's tower). Replacing these faulty files with those backups solved the problem. Something in Imp. Durlag's tower must be corrupting them. Edit: more CREs seem to be infected. Trying to CLUA any of them results in ctd and they can't be opened in NI: bgknight bgpawn bgrook dopdur dopdur1 dopdur2 dopdur3 pridem Again, replacing them with the ones from scs/backup/6070 "solves" the problem. Edit2: Opening them with dltcep reveals that the problem lies in an invalid spell memorisation count. Unfortunately I was unable to fix it as the editor crashes whenever I try to edit faulty values. There's not much more I can say as my understanding of the game mechanics is limited.
14. Nonsense, it's perfectly in line with any guide I read. I installed mods in this order many times and what little incompatibilities I found (such as tactics+fixpack and ar1700 CTD) I fixed myself long ago. Before SCS v9 and BGT v1.06 this never happened to me (now I have BGT 1.07 but it also happened with 1.06). Now that you mentioned it I remember that I quit installation process before installing all but one of these "faulty" tactical components (I don't remember which one but I already had smarter mages installed). I quit because I changed my mind and decided to remove it but after doing so I was unable to install any of them. Strange isn't it? All of them are in my override. Edit: Well, well I uninstalled SCS and installed it again (everything in one go as Taimon suggested) and it works.
