About rtl42

  1. yeah, i talked to Tranzig, and it's properly noted/recorded in the Quests section of the journal. (By the way, in my experience, if you go to Peldvale and Larswood before talking to Tranzig or even killing Mulahey, the bandits and Black Talons won't even spawn.) i'm not sure if it's relevant, but after dealing with Tranzig, I then dealt with Deke (the bandit in the Coast Way area map) before going to Larswood/Peldvale. AstroByGuy: if you know which variable controls the storyline appearance of Raiken and Teven, would you be able to tell me how to console it? I tried consoling Raiken and Teven using the CreateCreature command, and they talked to me with the correct dialogue, but after choosing the "let's fight" option, they turned hostile and ran away, and their bandit cohorts stayed neutral, so it looks like a simple CreateCreature won't fix the issue.
  2. not BGEE, and no, I haven't gone to the Bandit Camp. thx for mentioning Teven, I also checked Larswood, and he is not there (although his bandit crew is).
  3. i'm not sure if this is SCS v30, but i encountered a bug where the bandit Raiken (in Peldvale) doesn't spawn -- but his bandit crew does. (they just stand there, neutral, and you can chat them up.) sorry if this isn't SCS, but I couldn't find another mod that i used which seemed related.
  4. ah, i forgot to mention it in my last post: I continued on with the Balduran's Isle quest, with no problems with the paws, and made it back to Ulgoth's Beard for the fight with Selaad and his lackey. But just like when I went to Balduran's Isle, when I was transported to Ulgoth's Beard, I lost my paw (and the game re-positioned me after about 10 seconds). I then cast the "Werewolf Shapeshift" innate ability and equip the paw, but while fighting Selaad, the paw disappears again. What's more is that, even after I kill Selaad and his lackey, and rest a few times, the paw just won't stick around. I re-installed the "improved shapeshifting" component from SCS2, just in case it might work, but like you said, it doesn't, so that's why I asked for the item code.
  5. would you happen to know the item "code" for the various shapeshifter paws (so that i can create the paws via the console)? looking forward to seeing the fix, thanks for the speedy responses!
  6. At the very bottom of my post, there's a line that shows that I uninstalled Weimer's "Shapeshifter Rebalancing". But after reading your post, just to double-check, I ran the BG2 Tweaks setup EXE and when the Shapeshifter Rebalancing component came up, it gave me the option to "Install, Not Install, or Quit", so it looks like I only have "Improved Shapeshifting" from SCSII installed. edit: just to clarify, what I saw occurred after having already uninstalled the Shapeshifter Rebalancing component, not while it was installed. (I was careless during my BG2 Tweaks Pack installation and accidentally installed Shapeshifter Rebalancing, so I uninstalled immediately afterwards.) After having re-installed all of my mods, it also occurred to me to check different save files, and compare. I'm in the BG section of the trilogy, and just got to Balduran's Isle, but I happen to have a save before leaving on the boat, and just afterwards. Here's what I found: - After re-installing everything, if I load up the save file where I'm already on the island and have talked to Kaishas, then the paws always disappear when I rest. (I haven't tried timing how long it takes for them to disappear if I just stand around; I still have the save file, and could check, if it's relevant.) This is what prompted me to post here. - On the other hand, if I load the save file from before leaving, and try resting, then the paws don't disappear. (Maybe this is independent of re-installing the mods; maybe not.) Moreover, when I leave Ulgoth's Beard for the island, it's nighttime, and when I arrive on Balduran's Isle, it's also nighttime, for about 10 seconds, but then the game suddenly decides it's daytime, it slightly re-positions my party, and my paw is suddenly gone. If I rest, create a werewolf paw, and then rest again, the paw will disappear, but if I then rest again, create another paw, and rest once more, then the paw doesn't seem to disappear after that. I'm not really familiar with the "intricacies" of the game's engine, so if there's anything else that I should try out that would be relevant, please let me know.
  7. I've searched older threads, and there didn't seem to be a clear conclusion as to why this occurs in non-BGEE versions of the game, so when this first happened, I took the advice given in older threads, and re-installed the Improved Shapeshifter module. This fixed it... but then the paws disappeared again two chapters later, so i re-installed, and it worked... until it happened yet again. In total, I think I've re-installed about 4 or 5 times, and this last time, it didn't work, so I re-installed all of my mods. Unfortunately, that didn't help at all, and now I'm stuck Any help, even just the item code for consoling it, would be much appreciated m(_ _)m To summarize the mods I've used, they are (in the following order): BG2 Fixpack, BGT, BG1 Unfinished Business, Unfinished Business, Sword & Fist, Song and Silence, BG2 Xan, Sword Coast Stratagems + Andris Hotfix, Wheels of Prophecy, Sword Coast Stratagems 2, and BG2 Tweak Pack. 8. pardon for the double-post, but i hadn't noticed that v8 was available at the time i made the thread (sorry!...), so i downloaded that and re-installed everything with v8 of the fixpack... so now, i can confirm that the game is still adamant that my assassin should have a max backstab multiplier of x5, and up until i hit level 40, it was trying to increment by multiplier by -2. fortunately, after exiting the "level up" interface each time, my multiplier managed to stay at x7, so perhaps there is a typo somewhere in the scripting? anyways, not a big deal, but i thought i would follow up my previous posts as best i could.
  9. thanks for the response; as far as i'm aware (and i just double-checked my character's inventory), i don't have any weapons that change my backstab multiplier.
  10. Hi all, I'm a new poster on the forum and I had a very small question about something that came up in a playthrough with an assassin. I was at level 17, so i had a backstab mult. of x6, and upon levelling up to level 18, i was informed that my backstab mult. had incremented by -1... but then after levelling up, my backstab mult. was still at x6. Has anyone else seen this before? http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/rtl42...asedby-1wtf.png anyways, as the thread title says, it seems more of a curiosity (or rather, a cosmetic glitch) than anything serious, but i wanted to ask in case someone else might know something more about it.
