Yes, I am using it, both spells still fry the caster. Can't make the Aurilite Holy Symbol appear, may have to console it in. I uploaded a new save file at the first post in this topic. I choose one PC to trigger a cold trap when opening one of the doors, any attempt to then select the numbed PC will freeze the game. Casting Heal on the PC will remove the problem. Pressing the = button will tell you whether it is safe to select the PC.

Now onto AR4100, no crashes at all so far. Delayed Blast Fireball blasts the caster only, does not harm foes at all. Sunfire at least damages foes as well as the caster.

XP leak may not be a bad thing, IWD2 is so linear (Swastika) that it needs the leak to keep it interesting. None of the options to choose where you go, as in BG2 Chapters 2 and 3. Levelling up code should not be too hard, it is already handled in DaleKeeper and Near Infinity. All you need to do is take the DaleKeeper code and translate it. Time permitting for you of course.

I now suspect there are no trap crashes at AR4000, the crashes are coming from the creatures in the north east. In levelling up, practice makes perfect, it is a pill though. Fortunately you have the original game as a reference, you can level up the party there at will. You need both DaleKeeper and Near Infinity to alter the Gem save game. GemRB-win32-v0.8.0-121-gd08c7d5: now I can play all of AR4000 without a crash. There is still a problem with multiple versions of Illium Ar'Ghrenoir. None of the Aurilite Druids cast spells, not even when in normal form. (Unless they have all shapechanged and this is not clear.) Ditto, AR4100 has no introductory crash.

    some bugs

Mod starts with assigned NPCs, one of them is a Halfling Fighter/Thief named Maztica. She has thief skill points spread all over the place, she is all things to all people and nothing to anyone, it is like an Aesop fable. Hence her Open Lock and Find Traps skills are not maxed out, she fumbles all too many traps. She wiped out half the party when she did not detect an Ice Storm trap. I used a hex editor to concentrate all of her points in the Open Lock and Find Traps skills. Now she usually gets it right with traps. Scrolls have a hit or miss performance in setting global variables, fortunately this can be done via the in-game console. Completed the first two missions easily enough, now I am doing the third. Edit: Icewind Dale 2 is now functional in the northeast of map AR4000, so I will have to stop testing this mod and go back to IWD2.

    some bugs

While further progress in IWD2 is blocked I will have a go at Epic Endeavors. Completed all of the first level apart from the area that is Ellesime's bedroom in BG2. This mod is different. When you see an Ogre, cast Resist Fire on someone and send them forward alone. Said PC will aoak up all the nastiness from the Ogre's crossbow bolts, which cast Fireball.

That is good for the game, I will just use the console. Edit: Downloads of GemRB may be higher than they appear. I downloaded v8.0.49 and the page still shows 0 downloads. (I am a total nobody or an unperson?). Does it only register a download if you are logged in?

    some bugs

Trying to open inventory containers (Potion bags, gem bags, Bags of Holding) causes the game to freeze completely, this is the log commentary: [Python/ERROR]: Traceback (most recent call last): [Python/ERROR]: File "./GUIScripts\InventoryCommon.py", line 769, in OpenItemW indow [Python/ERROR]: ResRef = slot_item['ItemResRef'] [Python/ERROR]: TypeError: 'NoneType' object is unsubscriptable I am not sure if it is all containers or only some of them. It is true for both SoA and ToB. Not enough upload allowance left for the save game.

AR4100 crash, what I have noticed is that just before the crash two PCs are moved elsewhere for no apparent reason. PC5, PC2 found at: [GameControl]: Position: ar4100 [1953.2532] [GameControl]: Position: ar4100 [1589.1534] Four PCs remain in the lower left corner while two are moved for no reason that I can see. Log is not mentioning the cause of the crash from what I can see.

I was able to complete AR4000 in a manner of speaking: Make one PC Invisible Have him go to where the Aurilites are I then used Ctrl+Y to kill all the Aurilites. They could not see the PC hence they did not commence combat, hence the crash comes from them starting combat? I was able to loot all the bodies and containers, then go onto the next area. AR4100, another crash when combat starts...

I am not finally sure where the crash is occurring. Go to the NE corner where all the Aurilites are. There is an archway with Andora written over it, crash may occur near there. Start fighting Aurilites, sooner or later the game crashes.

I uploaded the latest edition of the Quick Save so people can hopefully see what is wrong, it can be found on the first post of this topic, on page 1. I don't have any idea of what a backtrace is or how to create it. I only have the GemRB log.

    IceWind Dale 2

This reminds me of all the bad crashes we used to experience with BG2! GemRB Log has nothing of any relevance. The following error seems to be common and not uniquely connected to the crash: [GameControl/ERROR]: Invalid Window Index ActionsWindow:12345 I can't pinpoint the cause of the crash.

    IceWind Dale 2

Crash, crash, crash! In the upper right corner, near Illium, the game just keeps crashing for no apparent reason. GemRB log seems to show nothing of importance. I uploaded the latest edition of the Quick Save so people can hopefully see what is wrong. I can try Ctrl+Y on any monsters as soon as they come in sight, see if this stops the crashes. Edit: There are three Illiums on the one space! I suspect that only one should exist at any one time. Crashes seem to be connected to party approaching his location. I used Ctrl+Y to kill all the Aurilites one at a time, there were no crashes. Problem is that there are three separate versions of Illium, they differ in difficulty level, Challenge Rating: -Difficulty: ( Level 1(0) ) Character: 40ILIUM.CRE (Illium Ar'Ghrenoir) -Difficulty: ( Level 2(1) ) Character: 40ILUM2.CRE (Illium Ar'Ghrenoir) -Difficulty: ( Level 3(2) ) Character: 40ILUM3.CRE (Illium Ar'Ghrenoir) This is presumably a device from IWD2 to make monsters match the difficulty level of the game, as set in the Options page. Gem will need to sort monsters according to their location and eliminate duplicate monsters. As a patch, see if this code works: IF OR(2) Exists("40ILIUM") Exists("40ILIUM2") THEN RESPONSE #100 Kill("40ILIUM") Kill("40ILIUM2") END Edit: This game is linear! If this was BG2 you could go explore elsewhere while problems at AR4000 were fixed...

The boy and girl are already dead, the wrong animation may be called, I don't know. Altering the relevant Cre files to remove their Dead status sure worked in stopping the console spam! Now exploration of AR4000 is moving along smoothly. Battle with the first group of Aurilites featured 3 Odea Whitelaws!

Oswald dialog discusses items that we have not ordered: Party only ordered two items, both made from Winter Wolf Pelts. Dialog has party asking him if he has finished Yeti pelt items, which were never ordered by the party. This is the log, after I cleaned out all the spam: [ResourceManager]: Found 'cemw3g1.bam' in 'chitin.key'. [unknown]: Performattack for Harbesh the Carver, target is: Wolf [Attack/COMBAT]: (Main) Left: 1 | Next: 1200595 [Hit] [ResourceManager]: Found 'chmt2a5.bam' in 'chitin.key'. [unknown]: Performattack for The Watcher, target is: Wolf [Attack/COMBAT]: (Main) Left: 1 | Next: 1200596 [Critical Miss] [GameScript]: Displaying string on: charbase [GameScript/WARNING]: Aborted action due to death spam = [CharAnimations/ERROR]: Couldn't load animation: NGRLLG1, cycle 40 [CharAnimations/ERROR]: Couldn't load animation: NBOYLG1, cycle 40 Edit: The boy and girl in AR4000 are both dead, they are found in the area of the Tundra Yetis. Maybe I could try to resurrect them?

Oswald dialog discusses items that we have not ordered. Disarming the trap to the east of the broken bridge causes a crash. Basically there seem to be random occasional crashes in this area. They may be connected to this problem: [CharAnimations/ERROR]: Couldn't load animation: NGRLLG1, cycle 40 [CharAnimations/ERROR]: Couldn't load animation: NBOYLG1, cycle 40 this error is generated all the time, even when the game is paused, you can see the GemRB.log growing in size. All this printout achieves is spamming of the log file, around 1MB every 2 minutes and 10 seconds. An alteration is needed that will shut off the console when the game is paused. It is exactly like the problem I had in March with ToB in AR6003...
  18. My copy of McAfee Site Advisor red-flagged one of the 232 downloads linked to this site: spell_rev-v2.exe "FOUND: Generic trojan, Artemis" Site Advisor won't give the results for 220:229.

Chapter 2, in AR4000: Command Prompt is being spammed with this: [CharAnimations/ERROR]: Couldn't load animation: ngrllg1, cycle 40 [CharAnimations/ERROR]: Couldn't load animation: ngrllg1, cycle 40 [CharAnimations/ERROR]: Couldn't load animation: nboylg1, cycle 40 [CharAnimations/ERROR]: Couldn't load animation: nboylg1, cycle 40 You find Followers of Beodaewn coming to the party, assuming their true Werewolf form and attacking. He has not yet been exposed as a Werewolf either. Is this right? Latest edition of the Quick Save has been uploaded to the first post in this topic. I don't know if my party is set to Heart of Fury mode or not. Party is just starting Chapter 2 and everyone is level 14.

Outer Courtyard of Horde Fortress, Ctrl+W came in handy. Now party has arrived at Chapter 2, game is playable. I could not get the sound in the Western Pass movie to actually play. But the words are just a paraphrase of the second paragraph of the Chapter 2 text, string reference 14,452. A quick alteration to icewind2.ini enabled me to play the movie on IWD2 [Movies] BISLOGO=1 INFELOGO=1 became: [Movies] BISLOGO=1 MIDDLE=1

Problem is only found with heaps, stuff dropped by dead monsters. Heaps are being obscured by the bodies of said dead monsters. Ctrl+W I never use.

    IceWind Dale 2

I think the piles, "heaps", only come into existence when the monster is dead. The Sav save game file shows the heaps in each AR area as being independent of the "actors", creatures. Goblin Warrens, Invisibility is cast upon the party Thief, then he wanders around the dungeon and removes all of the traps. One fun trick is to open all of the doors in a dungeon. Mutually hostile groups of monsters bump into each other and mayhem results.

Really need to have icons for items in heaps of bodies on top of everything else, or you may miss treasure. Items are on ground, beneath all the bodies, this is the case even when you hit Alt. This is a long running hassle. One remedy, when you hit Alt, you can have the blue item selection field appear on top of everything else.

IESDP, let someone get killed, then raise them Ctrl+R. The small portrait should be grayed out. To get rid of the graying-out you need to alter offset 0045. This seems to be a discovery of mine. "I think Trugnuk runs into the castle if you don't manage to intercept him after alarming the camp. No idea how he behaved in the original." That could collapse the game unless Knock gets you through one of those two doors in AR3000. You don't get his key, you can't get through either of those doors.

The latest save is now found at the first post in this topic, on page 1. Area is AR3000, party is now level 12. Killing a monster south of the NE bridge leads immediately to the death of the first still-living PC! Fortunately this only happens near the bridge. I see no cause for it. I am using GemRB-win32-v0.8.0-7-g9ec555c A Shaman named Trugnuk is supposed to drop the key to the Goblin Warrens, but I can find no trace of him. Create Creature enabled me to summon him, creature code is 30OrcTru. From the IESDP description of the iWD2 Cre file: 0x0034 8 (resref) Small Portrait (BMP) 0x003c 8 (resref) Large Portrait (BMP) 0x0044 1 (signed byte) Reputation (minimum value: 0) 0x0045 1 (byte) Hide In Shadows (base) 0x0046 2 (signed word) Armor Class 0x0045, in my latest save file it is found at offset 20BF for Harbesh. Generally this is found in between Reputation and Armor Class, IESDP calls it "Hide In Shadows (base)". Harbesh was dead, I raised him with Ctrl+R but his small portrait was still obscured by ugly gray masking. But changing the value of 0E to 00 caused the gray masking of Harbesh's portrait to go away.
