  1. Sorry it took me so long to reply; I've been busy.

I really need to overhaul the ranger stronghold and release an updated version at some point.

For the fighter stronghold problem, I'm more puzzled; the code for it is generally better. I need a list of what mods you have installed.

  2. If Roxanne is right about what the difference is, I can think of a few different possible answers.

If there's a simple way for the game to check for Chapter Six if you're playing BG2, and for Chapter Fifteen or whatever if you're playing EET, sure.

If adapting it to EET would mean chapter triggers don't work except in Trilogy, no.

If the mod already works on EET, moot question.

  3. Unnecessary files removed.

Looking at Refinements code sounds like a good idea.

For the others, Big World isn't my default; I'm not even sure what fixes you're referring to, but if they're not here they haven't jumped out at me as anything that should be part of this mod. I don't play or test on EE (which means, I realize, that I'm crazy and am still modding an old game after a newer version is out), so figuring out HANDLE_CHARSET is uncertain.

  4. Most likely the result of that will be that no one will poke you to go to their strongholds for their quests (because their scripts will think you're in Throne of Bhaal areas). As long as you check in at the strongholds regularly without prodding it shouldn't matter to the quests--though the strongholds that accumulate money or have similar timed effects (de'Arnise Keep, Thieves' Guild) may not do so.

Edited to add: This is not a promise though, just speculation based on Roxanne's description of the difference; "I have no idea" remains my official answer to how NPC Strongholds will combine with EET.

  5. I'm glad you like it.

She won't lose the stronghold. Money won't accumulate if she's out of the group for an extended period; Jariel will probably have some for her right away when you invite her back, but it won't be as much as she would have gotten over the same time period if she'd been in the party.

  6. Thanks! I'm glad you like it.

Now, some spoilers for the Viconia part of the mod:

When you take Viconia to the Temple of Talos, she says:

~I do not know why <CHARNAME> brought me here, but I have no interest in working for you, moronic rivvil. Shar is the only deity I serve, and will remain so.~

    and your journal adds this:

~Investigate and destroy the Cult of the Eyeless.

Viconia is quite adamant in her refusal to work for the Temple of Talos, and the Stormherald of the Talos temple didn't even look at anyone else in the party. We could still investigate the cult, which is apparently found in the sewers, but it seems unlikely that there would be a reward in it. Perhaps one of the other temples would be more likely to offer a reward for investigating the cult.~

and you can, right up until you've turned in the quest at the Temple of Talos and gotten the basic "no cleric" reward, take Aerie or Anomen to one of the other temples instead, so it seems to me that the mod already does do what you ask.

  7. It sounds like your game code is corrupted in some way that may have been caused by installing this mod but isn't about anything this mod is designed to do, because the mod doesn't touch Viconia at the de'Arnise Keep. I would actually recommend you uninstall the entire game and reinstall it.

(Edited to add that I can, probably, place what might be causing the game to crash when you open the Docks District map: it's the bit of scripting that renames Mae'var's guild when he dies and a member of your party gets the guild, and there is no good reason for it to crash the game, nor even a bad reason that I can think of.)

  8. Strange that it worked when I was testing it (though I really need to go over the ranger stronghold pretty thoroughly one of these days). Anyway, it's good that you found a way to fix it.

  9. I should emphasize that I certainly own no copyright on the idea of an NPC getting a stronghold. Whether I ever write/code something like that for a specific mod NPC or not, the modder who made that NPC might do so.

  10. I'm glad you like it.

Things I am definitely not going to do:

    1) Track down every mod NPC and write/code for them getting a stronghold.

    2) Write/code generic bits, "PLAYER2, I see that you're a fighter so I'm offering you my Keep."

Things I likely will do: Include some mod NPCs in this mod, at some point.
