  1. One more thing. Is it normal that, after doing all of this, ALL of the files in Override have ONLY root ownership?
  2. Great, I will. I guess I mostly use the file manager's wine plugins, but sometimes it's better to just dish it out in the terminal mode. Thanks again! I was afraid I wouldn't have anything to play over the weekend.
  3. Yes, that did the trick. Thank you very much, Wisp. I have one additional question, if I may. In my previous (failed) linux installation of BG2 (BGT, actually - but I forgot about the fixpack) I noticed lots of mods that use the Weidu framework have no problem at all being run under Wine. Should I continue to use the Linux Weidu commands to install them (WeInstall), or is that not needed? I should point out that incase this question sounds weird, I have no firm grasp of what Weidu is or does. I read the documentation about it a long time ago, but I had to give up on it. All I know for sure is that it's required for everything to work.
  4. Thanks. I thought I read somewhere that the linux version of the fixpack was pretolored. I'll take care of that right now.
  5. Yes, they are set correctly. Read and write for the admin and my user account. Edit: I just sudo-ed the command, to be safe.. but as I thought it made no difference.
  6. There does not appear to be a cd1 directory in my bg2 directory, so I removed that line pointing at it. I figure that CD1 ended up in the main directory anyhow. Linux .ini now looks like this: CD1:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/ CD2:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD2/ CD3:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD3/ CD4:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD4/ CD5:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD5/ The error remains unchanged though.
  7. Well I changed (the entire) linux.ini to look like this: CD1:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/ CD1:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD1/ CD2:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD2/ CD3:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD3/ CD4:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD4/ CD5:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD5/ .. and then I ran weinstall bg3fixpack, which failed to install right away with the core fixes: ERROR: error loading [bg2fixpack/copy/iscrl5a.bam] Stopping installation because of error. ERROR Installing [bG2 Fixpack - Core Fixes], rolling back to previous state Will uninstall 467 files for [bg2fixpack/setup-bg2fixpack.tp2] component 0. 8. I'll give that a shot, since I did run into an error trying to weinstall bg3fixpack. Thanks.
  9. Hello G3! I've followed the installation instructions for the Linux version of the fixpack to the letter, but I'm getting an error. I was hoping someone could help me. I get stuck at the tolower part. I type in tolower in the BG2 directory, select Y to both questions, but then I get an error. disarm@disarm:~/.wine/drive_c/BGII - SoA$ tolower Do you want to lowercase everything? (run if you extracted some mods since the last time you ran this utility) [Y]es or [N]o n Do you want to generate linux.ini from baldur.ini? (needed once per installation) [Y]es or [N]o y Fatal error: exception Not_found disarm@disarm:~/.wine/drive_c/BGII - SoA$ I don't know if the fatal error applies to the first, second or both questions, but I took a look at the directory to see what happened. Everything seems to be lowercase, so that's good. There's also a linux.ini.. but it seems a bit.. small compared to baldur.ini? If I open it, all I see is this: CD1:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/ CD1:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD1/ CD1:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD2/ CD1:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD2/ CD1:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD3/ CD1:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD4/ CD1:=/home/disarm/.wine/dosdevices/../drive_c/BGII - SoA/CD5/ Is that what the linux.ini is supposed to look like? Can I safely proceed with the installation from here on, or do I need to redo something?
