  1. There is somewhat bizarre bug with 8.8 version of this mod installed on TUTU which left me baffled and took me couple of minutes to properly process. :p So, when you set your familiar script to return to backpack when seriously injured when you encounter Xvarts instead they miraculously materialize in your backpack when killed or seriously wounded in the form of Quasits.   :rotflmao:

Workaround is to release them ( nothing happens, just clean backpack ) and change familiar script before you engage them in combat I guess. I'm very curios if this happens with some other opponents as well.

  2. Well, I wouldn't go as far to say that you are crazy Doc, but mistaken you are and  you are EE to the core besides. :p

Don't see +1/2 for  vanilla  classic version for grandmastery .

    But EE changes that apparently:Untitled.thumb.jpg.1eea445be7980970bf766b63236bb8ef.jpg

In short old BG2 doesn't give you half or full attack at grandmastery only 1/2 at spec.

P.S. Sorry for all the editing but it seems I almost exceeded my attachment upload limit, must erase something ASAP.

  3. I meant plasma grenades. :) And while I agree with you on principle I find that I'm not particularly inclined to mess up with engine non logical quirks especially when I will not use non proficiency weapons with anyone in my party (except well maybe in those extreme cases like clay golems and skeleton warriors if I will have misfortune of running into them ). :kungfu:

    Yes, and yes.

Also, maybe, just maybe, you should zero out the non profficiency line. Cause I am pretty sure that no matter how good fighter one would be, attacking with an unknown weapon would not make you faster if you just are better at fighting. Say like with plasma grenades. 🤣

Well in that case I believe non proficiency penalty would apply and I am pretty sure I won't come across it in TUTU. I think I will pass that but thank you for answer and happy Easter pal. :)

Maybe neither here nor there, but this sounds like you favor the unmodded BG2 rule? In which case rather than being bothered by that mod, you can just not install it.

It is Doc because if I favored old vanilla BG2 rules I would not install grandmastery patch which I find lesser evil. I like idea of extra attacks, dmg and THACO for fighters because that is  what they excel at after all in comparison to other classes , I just wasn't completely satisfied how it was implemented and now I found alternative to my liking. Can't blame me for trying. And happy Easter U2 Doc.

  5. One of the things which always bothered me with True grandmastery patch from CDTweaks  is how steep is climb from high mastery ( 4 stars) to grand ( 5 stars). In addition to +1 to damage and -2 to speed factor you get whooping +1 APR! I believed long time that this is mistake from patch authors and that grandmastery  should give only 1/2 attack on top from specialization for total of 1APR instead current whole attack for grand 1.5 APR . While I'm still not sure what interpretation is correct I decided to change wspatck from CDTweaks for personal use aiming to bring more balanced progression in which each hard won pipe should bring some obvious benefit without huge gap occurring between 4 and 5 stars. For starters I just changed wspecial to give just +2 to hit and 3 dmg for mastery for more balanced progression but discarded that idea in favor of taking half attack from grandmastery and giving it to high mastery. My two questions are is this table right for my intention of giving high mastery extra half attack on top of specialization and grandmastery one more half on top of it:

and second and more important would it be compatible with BIG TWEAKS component " WSPATCK for all (Taimon) -> Everybody gets ApR from proficiency, only Warriors from level" if installed before it, as part of CDTweaks?

  6. Well, after roughly half an hour of installation newest SCS 33.7 yet again refused to install on my easy TUTU. Initialise AI components (required for all tactical and AI components) failed with following error:

You have excellent translator there mate. So much so that your english is way better than mine. :p Oh, and kudos for all your work so far, of course. :)

For reference, I'm working on an overhaul to the trilogy dialogue so romances refer to your PC by the correct gender should you remove gender restrictions (I couldn't find this out there anywhere).

It was about time that somebody finally do this. :p Now, if you could just incorporate NPC flirt pack in your work it would nicely round it up.

The question has been answered, but I will add this: it may be a pretty good mod idea to nerf the party. -2 to every stat above 8 for all of the NPC would be a good start. Possibly -1 to the main class stat, though the values would still be excessive. Take the wizards in the first Baldur's Gate: Xan has Intelligence 16, Xzar 17, Edwin 18. 18 is the physical maximum for the human species. Edwin is Einstein with an energy bar. Those two other characters are Bohr and Plank, and hey hoy, they all happened to meet on the same fifty miles of coast. Imoen's Intelligence is 17 also... "Heya!" Slash stats, and the painful labors to balance out the BG series with ingenious hacks will recede from necessity. The power of personages like Shandalar will also seem less outrageous.

Not bad idea for someone who care about this. I know some mods which do opposite but I have yet to see mod which nerf NPCs. I'm personally power gamer who uses every advantage I can think of on tough mod setting ( currently playing old BG:TotSC with Vault, DSotSC, Drizzt saga, Stone of Askavar and Mysteries of the Sword Coast, among others ) so I'm afraid I will not be so keen on this idea. From reality point of view bards in BG1 have believable stats ( Eldoth and Garrick with their crappy intelligence which is pain to learn arcane spells reliably without potions). On the other hand it is not such stretch of imagination to believe that Xan actually would have 17 intelligence ( not 16) as elves will not send some dumbass to investigate iron crisis ( he seems like smart guy because you know " we are all doomed " really :p). Xzar can pass as mad genius ( Bumi from Avatar :D). Imoen is jewel waiting to be polished street smart girl and Edwin... Well, you got me there as I can't think of one reason why this arrogant jackass would have 18 intelligence ( although I'm finding him funny and sometimes outright hilarious with addition of some mods).

I'm actually suprised it even installs on it. I didn't test on classic ToSC. Submit an issue on github, with steps to reproduce.

Heh, issue is that with this component when I meet basilisk ( or in my case medusa) and use this potion I get instant crash and black screen. Without it everything is OK. Here are components I use in my current game:

     Brief overview:

    1. causes CTD, 2) working, 3) didn't encountered any problems, but will see, that upcoming green dragon fight from DSotSC will be excellent test, 4) didn't check yet, 5) same as 4, 6) same as 5, :p 7) seems it works, little too good perhaps, among another things I noticed that sword spiders lost that ring which granted them bonus to movement speed, 8- seems it doesn't work, 9) doesn't work, never met the guy in Candlekeep.

  11. Component "Potion of Really Mirrored Eyes: v8.4"  from TNT mod cause CTD in my BG:TotSC vanilla game when used. From my humble experience CTD on one version of the game is usually indicative of problem encountered on all of them so maybe it wouldn't be bad idea to check and fix this ( for all versions ).

@Greenhorn I have no idea why this would be botching up in BG:TotSC. If I install it to my local copy, the additional reply option about the "Fan" will be in the greetings state as planned (the one with all the reply options). There is no reason I would know of why it would influence Garrick's "Let's go" line after he was asked to join. :(BG:TotSC engine is a fragile thing, though, and I didn't look at this ingame. But from the dlg, this is not supposed to happen for Garrick's original (i.e. unchanged) kickout dialogue.

@jastey It seems this work on BG:TotSC ( although without ring, which I sold beforehand, but I still got amulet, nevertheless). My earlier message ( and links with pictures on SHS) was related to TUTU version.

I read your post and i am not exactly sure what you are looking for. I do have tgc1e, v1.9 if that will help. Let me know.

Thanks for kind offer but I got it thanks to another helpful fellow member. Oh, and the site is back it seems.

  14. Now, this is a bummer... or convenient exploit. :p So, after I recruited Eldoth and dropping him to Jovial juggler after he gained 1 level next time I entered that inn he walked straight to my party requesting to join in... with Skie in tow. :laugh2: It is still chapter 2 and I hadn't been anywhere close to Baldur's gate.
