The standard base attack rate is 1 attack per round, because most people have no training whatsoever.

2 ** as a fighter would increase that from 1 per round to three per 2 rounds, which is quite frankly a huge improvement over regular people

Another half comes at level 7 which is 2 per round, and I thnik that would be like an elite fighter or some kind of champion gladiator.

Beyond that I think the scaling becomes a bit crazy because ***** at level 13 and the fighter can with a single weapon attack three times as frequently as an untrained person. dual weilding to go from three to four.

It takes a magical weapon to go from four to five which is fine I guess because magic isn't real.

And then it goes totally off the rails once high level magic and whirlwin attacks come in doubling it from 5 to 10. One fighter able to hit with the fury of 10 fighters? Really? It's crazy even by comic book standards.

The answer of the question in this title is only one possible and obvious Jimmy:

Try updating your weidu.exe to version 247. It looks like it's trying to parse tp2's with v247 syntax (e.g. Bardic Appraisal using RESOURCE_CONTAINS) and choking.

edit: You can just rename setup-cd_appraiser.exe to weidu.exe, since it's already v247.

It worked like a charm, thank you! :)

  3. Strange, this mod prevents running of change-log utility while it is installed:

When uninstalled Change-log works normally. Any workaround beside installing this mod last and installing/uninstalling according to need?

I need a little more info--I'm assuming oBG, but what components are installed? Eldoth (and Minsc) both use a simple !Dead check before sending a JoinParty to their partner, which AFAIK is ignored in oBG if the partner's not in the same area.

Little more info it is. I suspect main culprit is allow NPC pairs to separate together with send NPC's to inns. And I run into this particular bug on TUTU and oBG BOTH . Situation is that I got Eldoth early ( whether through CDTweaks or Anomaly's BG1NPC's at beginning). I keep him around usually until he hits level and party overcome initial challenges. Then I dismiss him to Jovial Juggler ( rendezvous point in Beregost) . When you enter second time in the inn Skie is there as well by some miracle. I think only other mod which affect Skie is one of components from BG1RE but I deeply doubt this is cause of it. One more thing I remembered from my last TUTU install is that dialogues for separate NPCs pairs are not working on it while on oBG everything is fine.

Now, this is a bummer... or convenient exploit. :p So, after I recruited Eldoth and dropping him to Jovial juggler after he gained 1 level next time I entered that inn he walked straight to my party requesting to join in... with Skie in tow. :laugh2: It is still chapter 2 and I hadn't been anywhere close to Baldur's gate.

Yeah, lack of a min HP opcode makes this difficult. What I've done for oBG is temporarily up her HP for the fight, and then lower it back down when she joins. It's still not perfect, but adds a little bit of a cushion.

Glad that Shar'Teel will be fixed but that bummer with Eldoth and Skie is even more severe. Last time I played oBG Skie summoned guards in Jovial Jugler which become battlefield right before CTD. :p

No, I don't think so, especially on Chrome.

I have to be honest, I couldn't figure out what you were trying to say when you mentioned the "SR button". Maybe I should've tried to figure out what you meant before going off and testing stuff, :p. So the specific problem is actually with editing, not posting?

Ah, abbreviations do more harm than good in this case, yeah, that stands for "Send reply". As for the problem, I'm at lost here, usually if I send quick, short message without quoting it gets through without problems, with quoting replies start problems. Anyway, this post have quotes of which first one is edited AAND:

EDIT: made it on second try, it definitely has something to do with vertical text cursor and clicking on it. Oh well, I will manage somehow, thank you very much for your help Bartimaeus.

Well, I'll test it again...and make a video out of it this time. ...On a completely separate note, why do avatars look so crappy with Chrome?

Firefox vs. Chrome. That's a...significant difference. What kind of ratchety-crap scaling method is Chrome using that my avatar looks that bad?

idk, seems to work fine for me. Do you have any add-ons or that might be a problem...script-blocker, maybe?

I will concede that Firefox is probably better choice, I'm just slave of habit in this matter. I appreciate all your testing ( and relaxing music in the video :)) but you forgot one important detail, to actually quote ( which actually is source of my problems especially if I copy and paste text in that quote ) before  SR. I will test this one  more time,  AAND:

EDIT: success after sixth or seventh try, it has something to do with the position of vertical line of cursor, really have no idea why this keeps happening :undecided:

Well, maybe I just need to clear my browser history of all those cookies and whatnot, maybe it is just temporary thing.

Checking to see is it working after disk and browser history cleanup.

EDIT: Things are getting better, I succeeded already on fourth try.

  9. 4 minutes ago, Bartimaeus said:

Well...it worked on the first try with Chrome for me. I guess technically that could've been luck and it might not work a hundred times after, but I feel like if there was a major problem with Chrome, someone else would've said something, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Well, maybe I just need to clear my browser history of all those cookies and whatnot, maybe it is just temporary thing.

Device/OS/browser you're using when this problem occurs?

PC, Windows 7, Google Chrome. It usually happens when I quote.

P.S. Like just now for example. Always the same thing: Your previous content  has been restored

    and then freeze.

EDIT: Couldn't do with Chrome,  switched to Firefox to finally post this message.

For these components, weapon type is generally determined by checking the weapon proficiency at 0x31 and (if it's a shared proficiency) the weapon animation at 0x22. So a 'bastard sword' is anything that uses proficiency 89 on BG2/EEs. In the case of scimitars, ninja-to, and wakizashis (which all use prof 95), it goes to the animation: s1 (long sword) are ninja-tos, ss (short sword) are wakizashis, and anything else is a scimitar. So if something else is messing with the profs or animations, items are going to be mis-detected.

Yeah, you are right, although it was sometime ago I still remember that those scimitars ( from DSotSC and Dark horizons on TUTU ) mostly used long sword animations. I corrected it with NI

Ah, that's my fault. oBG lacks a Player1 dream script, which is where the mod does all of its work.

Sadly oBG engine lacks many essential things needed for good modding,  like for example in "unkillable Shar'Teel" in CDTweaks, although component itself is available in this ancient engine it does nothing as apparently minHP item doesn't exist in it. Anyway, can I hope for quick fix and upload of new version or I'm better off saving pleasure of playing this mod for some other time, on more advanced platform?

,'Tis the season and I have failed my Will Save miserably, so I am now in the process of setting up another hibernal Baldur's Gate playthrough.

You too? :D Without too much elaboration I would go with Melkor here, if only to save yourself some time if you intend to install whole bunch of mods which is my style usually, you know, play BG EE as soon as possible and simultaneously building second part at your leisure. I was tempted to try EET, but I gave up since I didn't even properly finished BG EE and I was afraid I wouldn't finish EET install till New year. Fortunately my will save didn't betrayed me when I even briefly considered to use BWS like I used to for my Godzilla sized old BGT installs back in older days.

Turns out the mod finally made it to GitHub. I must say I like those much better than PPE, all things considered. Or maybe I have just grown used to them over the years.

Really nice find Isewein although I have no idea how you managed to stumble on it and find it. It is somewhat frustrating that so many older, less known but nevertheless quite good mods disappeared forever or lay deeply buried on some obscure sites unknown to 99,5 % people who still play these games ( in all their versions ) .

  15. @HotaruPL if your dialogue is messed up even after you started new game I'm afraid your best option is to uninstall all your mods one by one ( yes, huge inconvenience and waste of time but I did that for installations 3 or 4 times larger than yours to set it right ) . Then you can look at the guide for install order even if you don't want to use BWP.

  16. First of all, did you continued from some of your old saves or did you start new game? Secondly, do you still have crashes in in Nashkel after removing Aurora? Thirdly your install order indeed leaves much to be desired, your best option is to download this comprehensive guide and use it as a reference for any mod you wish to  install: http://www.shsforums.net/files/file/534-big-world-english/
