  1. Shouldn't be enough to just remove the scripts WITHOUT installing the tweak, so? I tried uninstalling the tweak, but the cutscene played anyway, even without the scripts
  2. Here's what I did: - Uninstalled the tweak; - Used Near Infinity (for the first time, lol) and removed the whole block from the files you mentioned; - Reinstalled the tweak; - Started a new game; - Got in party with Imoen, sent CHARNAME to be killed; - Gameover didn't play, I could normally control Imoen, - You're the man Now, can I assume that applying the instructions you gave me, the tweak is working throughout every area of the game? I mean, is it working in the (buggy) way it was intended to work? Thanks, argent77
  3. Will try as soon as I'm able and report here, thanks
  4. K4thos, can this be a problem during install? weidu_external/lang/english/setup.tra file not found. Skipping...
  5. Hello everybody, I opened the following thread to try and resuscitate this tweak:
  6. I didn't change my mod selection that much over time, so I'm quite sure this is to be excluded. I started a new game right after a perfectly clean and errorless installation, so neither this can be an explanation. Maybe the problem is that I installed the tweak manually after the EET Install Tool completed its work? Maybe I had to set a pause somewhere, manually install it and then make it resume? I can make some tests if you have some useful suggestions.. a complete EET Install Tool installation requires only 1:30 hours with my desktop computer, so it would not be a problem. If you tell me how to do it, I could also manually check if the area flag is present or not. As for your last sentence, this is also what I was hoping for when I opened this thread
  7. Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I'm not looking for a solution to the issues I reported. It is fine for me as it was: cutscene doesn't play, I immediately resuscitate CHARNAME so the problems you mentioned never even appear. The problem I'm searching a solution to, is the fact that with the tweak installed, the game over cutscene plays anyway. Being more specific, the only thing that I'm interested in, is that ALL areas in my EET game are correctly flagged to allow CHARNAME death, nothing more.
  8. Hello everybody, as many of you might remember, there once was a tweak in TobEx that allowed CHARNAME to die without the game over cutscene playing. Then, with the coming of EET, it was replaced by the "Protagonist can die" component of EET Tweaks. I reported some problems emerged while CHARNAME being dead, and the author of the mod, K4thos, chose to remove this component and to stop mantaining it. He however provided the installation files: https://www.dropbox.com/s/79d9mh5i0o0riop/Protagonist_Can_Die.zip?dl=1 I tried yesterday a mega mod install with EET Install Tool (mantained by Roxanne), installing the tweak after the installation concluded. It didn't work, the gameover cutscene played on CHARNAME death. I think (and I've read) that this mod is appreciated by many of us, and it could be a common interest to be able to use it again, so, I'm asking, is there a modder that would be so kind to solve the problem? As far as I know, the tweak changes every single area flag to prevent gameover cutscene from playing, so it's rather mechanical. Probably with the passing of time and the various patches, the tweak is not able to successfully do its work. I would take care of the problem myself, but I know nothing of modding. Protagonist_Can_Die.zip
  9. I tried a megamod install, the "out of memory" error is completely gone, without having taken any action whatsoever Probably thanks to 64 bit WeiDU, as DavidW wrote.
  10. I just completed a mega mod install. Then, I manually installed this tweak. Everything seems to have gone fine. I tried it outside Candlekeep, but the gameover sequence triggered Have you any idea about why? Maybe an error in modifying every area's flag? I really want to be able to play without the fear of my main character dieing I opened this topic out of desperation : https://www.gibberlings3.net/forums/topic/30562-modders-wanted-protagonist-can-die-tweak/ Those interested, please participate.
  11. Got it. I understood you give no support, but could you specify just a few things? 1) As far as I know, the simple precence of this tweak in a game has ZERO impact. Issues could emerge only WHILE charname is dead. Is that right? 2) Roxanne suggested to install this mod after the install tool (former BWS) ends its installation. Can you confirm it? Or do I have to pause the installation at a certain point to install it? 3) I see the tweak consists in an .exe file. Do I have to run it from inside a specific folder? (Edit: solved) Thank you!
  12. I hope K4thos hears our plea
  13. Thanks! Unless.. in an EET game, I kill Dynaheir in the BGEE part of the game.. then I should get only Minsc in SoD. Nevermind, I already got the answer here:
  14. Just for confirmation.. will I be forced to keep both Minsc AND Jaheira during SoD, even if I got there with just one of the two?
  15. Is the "out of memory" problem still there? I mean this:
  16. Hello @K4thos. I'm the one who reported the issues with the "Protagonist can die" component. I personally play no-reload games, and being able to play without the constant fear that the end-game cutscene could trigger was really invaluable. Besides, the issues take place only if you move to another area. If you immediately resuscitate the protagonist, there is no problem. I was reading around about making a new EET install, and noticed this very bad news. Could you please reintroduce the component, just with a big warning? I would be very grateful, thanks
  17. Why not simply switch to Alien's Project Infinity?
  18. Aw Looking forward to being able to play the entire EET with Charname/Minsc/Jaheira/Viconia/Imoen/Edwin, without any unwanted character during my travels.. Seems I'll have to wait for DavidW to play SoD Anyway thank you man
  19. Hello, any news about this component in SoD? Thank you very much.
  20. Well, as the topic says, any news from him? It's been a long time..
  21. I personally would re-install everything, carefully choosing the mods you want.. In my experience, I found out that this is the best course of action, since sometime we include mods we're not interested in, and more mods = more chances of error.
  22. Ok Roxanne, now it is 100% clear Anyway, just for the record, the mod seems to not be getting updates since a while (last is from 2014), and the mod topic on www.baldursgatemods.com is abandoned. The topics on Beamdog forums are not getting any answer either. I wouldn't count on future updates, so *MAYBE* the patches could be integrated in the Fixpack and BWS should point to the present version of the mod, to prevent a new hypothetical version including compatibility to be downloaded together with the patch. But these are just ideas and pieces of information, I know that things will be done in the best way as always As for myself, I'll try to stir the waters in the Beamdog forums topic
