  1. What does that variable do exactly?
  2. Come on, I launched a mega mod install 3 hours ago XD Do you think that there are critical changes that should make me launch install again, or it's not worth it? Thank you for the continued work
  3. I checked that mod long ago, and I read about bugs that never would make me put it in a BWS install
  4. I didn't try the custscene (or more funny fighting faldorn) with a dead charname, but most of the time, your party member speak for charname if he is dead. Moreover the engine carry the body of charname during most area transition, and sometimes your team member must get tired and let charname body drop, and he probably get eaten by wild animals (it's not a surprise if the resurrection fail if the body is missing) But K4thos don't remove this component, let the player reload a little latter if there is a problem, without this component you must reload anyway if charname die I agree. I must say that when I made some tests with the ToBEX version of the tweak, I remember dead charname speaking in cutscenese while dead, lol.
  5. If i win a fight which will immediate trigger a cut scene, it's possible to break the game? I'm pretty sure this is a strong possibility.. Anyway, @K4thos, rather than removing that component, I would suggest adding a notice that it is likely to generate bugs, crashes and unexpected situation, so one can install it at his own risk. I'm suggesting in the BWS thread to mark it as "expert".
  6. Wait! So you actually CAN make Imoen a multiclass thief/mage with just that dialogue, right? You said just "dual-class" in an earlier post.
  7. Perfect, so removing the single mod is the right choice for an EET install anyway.
  8. So, in an EET install it already gets integrated into EET Tweaks and doesn't have to be installed separately?
  9. What I noticed is that this strange behaviour is exactly the same I noticed with the old TobEX tweak in BGT. P.S.: With "all areas of the game", you mean "ALL", all the ones introduced by mods too?
  10. https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/43305/mod-npc-ee-non-player-characters-enhanced-for-everyone Found. With this, I would be able to make Imoen a multiclass thief/mage. Roxanne, would I have access to the content you mentioned earlier anyway? And moreover, anybody knows what "Make Neera a (wild magic) sorcerer" exactly? It's in the BWS options.. maybe a sorcerer with wild surge chance? The answer is yes (found readme).
  11. Yes. All choices are Paladin kits except fighter/cleric (of course).
  12. Yes, I was going to tell you. From what I understood, changing to fighter/cleric causes problems, changing Paladin kit does not, so only one option should be made unavailable by BWS in EET installs.
  13. A hint - with Sandrah you will have the chance to dual-class Imoen to thief mage from the beginning via an option in the first talk with Imoen in Candlekeep. This adds far more contents and also two large extra quests for the Imoen/Sandrah pairing in BG1 - just in case such stuff interests you. Sure, but who will detect and disarm traps? Unfortunately I don't have any alternative to bringing Imoen to a decent thief level..
  14. Ok, thank you Not very in-topic, but just wanted to share. For my no-reload EET run, my good-aligned, continuous party through all the game, will be: - Charname (cleric/mage); - Imoen (dual class at level 7 to mage); - Sirene (Cavalier kit); - Sandrah (cleric/warrior); - Minsc (mace dual wielder or archer, we'll see); - free slot for rotation of quest related NPCs.
  15. Sirene is continuous as the creature appearing in EET in Radiant Heart will be the same one you had in BG1/SoD.The above description is generic. A new creature is only created if !BeenInParty("C0Sirene"), i.e she has not been in your party before. You can find all details in the area script of area ar0903 (ar0903.bcs). Thanks Maybe we're off topic here, but considering her continuity, maybe in EET installation, BWS should treat her as a single mod, for major clarity. Roxanne, just to be sure: Sirene for BG1 has the option to change Paladin kit or class, Sirene for BG2 does not have it. The mod author said, when asked about the absence of the possibility to change class in BG2: "I tried to make an optional F/C component. It ended up being extremely buggy due to a certain event which affects her class. It might have worked with different paladin kits but absolutely not a separate class, not without changing some of the script. It can be done, but it's not an option at the moment. I'd say keep her as a paladin if you want consistency.". So, if I make her a Cavalier in BG1, considering what you said, she will stay a Cavalier forever. The answer might seem obvious but I want to be sure
  16. Is Sirene 100% continuous? In BWS Sirene for BGEE and BG2EE are listed as two different mods, and the description of the latter makes me think it is not: "This is a sequel to Sirene NPC for BG1:EE. Sirene is a joinable lawful-good tiefling with a custom paladin kit and several new items, spells and areas. She can be found within the High Hall of the Radiant Heart, in the corridor past the entrance. She will only join a non-evil PC. Her level is dependent on the PC's upon joining. She has both a friendship path and a romance, which can be initiated by a PC of any race and gender with 12 or above charisma. PCs who knew her from BG1 can bring up their past for a few extra talks. If your reputation drops below 9, she will stop her friendship and romance talks and warn you. If it drops below 5, she will leave permanently. She is compatible with all NPCs except Dorn and Hexxat, who she will come to conflict with quickly and force you to choose between them. She also has an optional component that adds reactions to the Romantic Encounters mod, of which only the scene with Anne will terminate her romance. Her romance will not terminate due to interactions with any other NPCs."
  17. I'm reporting a bug about the "protagonist can die tweak". As in the old BGT, if protagonist dies, the corpse is loaded with the party every time you change area. I tried the following: - Kill protagonist outside Candlekeep; - The corpse travels with you and spawns at the next map (where you meet Elminster); - You travel to the FAI area, the corpse still spawns there; - You enter FAI, the corpse spawns there; - You exit FAI, the corpse spawns outside FAI; - You enter the temple, the corpse remains outside FAI (don't know why); - You resurrect the protagonist, and he is resurrected where the corpse was (outside FAI entrance), while the rest of the party is still inside the temple. Is it supposed to work like this?
  18. Yes you're right, but I'm used to having two mages, I think one is not enough. And Imoen can't really be called an archer.. no longbows, composite bows etc. I could solve rolling a warrior/thief (like Coran) as charname instead of a Paladin (my favourite RPGwise), but I'll wait for clarification about that EET tweak, Neera would be nice.
  19. Yes, I completely agree, that's exactly what I was saying K4thos, would it be possible to implement this solution in EET? An option that would sound like "Move unsupported BG2 characters to Friendly Arm Inn after SoD separation", that can be chosen from BWS for example. Maybe with just a little standard dialogue for rejoining. This would mean to either hijack mod NPCs against author's decision or tweak vanilla ones. This cannot be the scope of EET. I don't agree. Instead, letting a player meet a character with the same name but different stats, proficiency points, experience points, equipment, etc would be AGAINST the scope of EET, that is continuity. Above all, it is very immersion-breaking, and thus very bad on the role playing side. Anyway, thanks everybody for the answers As for "old errors", Roxanne, I want to point out, for example, that I remember that Coran BG2 mod has the option to remove the other Coran from Tethyr Forest, so there would not be two Coran. K4thos, would it be possible to detect a few NPCs whose story is not definitively resolved and for which it would suffice a "move to FAI and remove the other character with same name from BG2"? Speaking of Coran, a solution is already present. Anyway, I'm just stressing all the options to be sure not to miss the possibility to have one full continuous party, if there is one, even remotely At present time, for a good aligned party, the only solution would be Charname, Imoen, Sirene, Sandrah, Minsc and Jaheira (Neera is too dangerous for a no-reload game). No mage, no archer. Edit: Hey! Neera is too dangerous for a no-reload game WITHOUT the EET Tweak that allows main character to die, right? Or is it incompatible with Sandrah's Saga? Not remembering how the matter was exactly
  20. what do you think about skipping the dialogue/story continuity, e.g. simply not doing (1), and only going with the creature continuity? why can't it be done automatically? by automatically i mean "find and replace" same with ajantis and other well known BG1-NPC-in-BG2 mods just creature continuity would be a great thing for EET. the tome bonuses would stick, pips, skills, spells, experience, fallen status, death state (if possible)... afterwards, gradually, maybe, dialogue/story continuity can be improved...dialogue continuity isn't exactly amazing with vanilla (EE included) characters either. there's no need to impose higher standards on mods Yes, I completely agree, that's exactly what I was saying K4thos, would it be possible to implement this solution in EET? An option that would sound like "Move unsupported BG2 characters to Friendly Arm Inn after SoD separation", that can be chosen from BWS for example. 21. Yes, Roxanne, I get it. But being able to bring on my party for the whole EET run is for me the main reason to use EET.. this is the real "continuity". I want to see my characters grow as I shape them.. Anyway, I would use Charname, Imoen, Sandrah, Coran and some mage I still have to choose, plus one free slot for quest-related NPCs, so there would be only two "cannon fodders" I am an RPG oriented player, so no need to point out the importance of character depth with me
  22. Pure crap, but still the only way to go on with the same characters, right? When you talk about BG2 content, what do you mean exactly? Banters? Comments from the NPC about what's happening?
  23. Ok, I think I understand. So, let's talk about the following scenario: - My BG1 party is, for example: Charname, Imoen, Minsc, Yeslick, Xan and Finch; - I don't install ANY mod that brings vanilla BG1 characters, or characters introduced by mods in BG1, to BG2; - At the end of SoD first dungeon, I'm separated from some party members (for example Yeslick, Xan and Finch); - Since EET grants one single world with various areas, instead of letting these party members simply disappear for good, picks them and moves them to the Friendly Arm Inn (i.e. stores their .CRE files and makes them spawn there?); - When I'm out of Irenicus Dungeon, I travel to the Friendly Arm Inn and recover my former party members, exactly as I left them. It should be technically possible, am I wrong?
  24. As I feared.. Since you, K4thos, pointed out that moving a custom party to Irenicus dungeon would create plot related problems (since the game assumes that the canon party is captured), is there any way for EET to do something like what follows? - You play with Coran and Xan, for example; - At the end of SoD first dungeon you are separated; - You install Coran BG2 mod and Xan BG2 mod, that make available these two characters beyond the first game; - You encounter again these two characters where the mod authors has put them in BG2; - At the time of joining, EET checks if characters with the same name have been in party, and if the answer is "yes", recovers the last version of them you used, so you get the exact same characters, exactly as you left them. This would allow to respect the plot AND to grant real continuity.. otherwise one would be limited to vanilla characters and two or three more (I don't like the idea of seeing character development reset). I am not a modder, but this solution would seem to me quite easy to implement, but correct me if I'm wrong.
