  1. Have you tried installing it on a different computer?
  2. Yeah, I understand this is probably very frustrating. I'm kinda hoping Demi will tweak MSIX to summon something else rather than basilisk. My main gripe against how AI mages play is that most of them are piss-poor weak w/o some meatshields if they're solo like Lavok, which is the main idea behind this tweak. While I can uderstand that original SCS idea isn't to beef up such encounters; I'd probably rework some of them. Example of what I'm pointing at: Lavok is supposed to be an ultra-powerful mage. With SCS, he has levels, he has spells, he has "brains" to use them, yet the battle is very easy since he can be overwhelmed by sheer numbers - and this makes all his levels, spells and "brains" moot since after he eats a Breach spell he's pretty much dead, with the player witnessing approx 20% of what he CAN do, but usually fails to. If he's that powerful, couldn't he create some creatures that assist him? Has some deal with a Demon from the Planes? Just imagine this battle now vs one where you'd have Lavok + a Pit Fiend or two. A Lich could also be there. Now you've got a worthy battle, not some solo schmuck mage with a unique animation. There are quite a few such encounters in SoA. ToB is (imo) much more balanced regarding; mages are rarely alone there. Improved Anvil goes around that by increasing enemy immunities so they last much longer, but that's not really the direction I want to go. Thus, I went for instant summons to at least give mages some backup. If I find the time and willpower to learn more about scripting (I do already know a thing or two; I just need to learn the finesse stuff) I could probably make an optional component; or a mini-mod for "more beefy encounters". Be careful not to confuse SCS with tactics however. Tactics' goal is make every encounter as hard as possible. The aim is for you to be kinda forced to reload to find the cheese to that encounter. SCS aims to make it so the enemies aren't dumb, or at least not as dumb as the vanilla game. Even a very powerful mage can be surprised/taken off-guard, and that's when mages are at their weakest. After playing revised SCS for a while I think the level of difficulty sounds about right. Sometimes, even my powerful characters die because an enemy mage so went off with the right combination of spells, and I didn't have the right spells prepared. Sometimes, they kinda fail and I unleash the fury. > A Lich could also be there. Now you've got a worthy battle, not some solo schmuck mage with a unique animation. I love this Also, remember that, technically, you're supposed to fight Lavok quite early in the game. If you buff him too much... Bad things could happen
  3. I'm on EE latest steam version, if that helps.
  4. Hey kreso, I tested Vithal again last night and it seems he returned back to his old self: auto-attacking with his staff. I have the latest SCS + SR from BWS, where, for example, LICH01 is a high-level conjurer and not lvl 9 doing nothing, and Dispelling Screen works properly (blocks 1 dispel magic) Do you know why this happened? Maybe you forgot to include his fix in the latest build? Hopefully that's the answer! Also, the mage in spellhold, Lonk the Sane (when you go back upstairs to rally the inmates) ... he doesn't do anything at all, and he's level 18. Same problem as Vithal, he just attacks with his staff or whatever.
  5. Too specific in my opinion, only useful against the highest levels of casters and then, only against conjurers. And it still isn't that good...
  6. I think high-level conjurers are the hardest right now They've got the same protections as the others except... you've also got 1-2 pit fiends, 2-3 cornugons and other stuff to worry about. They're not really good at killing you... but their hired hands are, however
  7. three Pit Fiends, four cornugons, a Fallen Planetar, 2 greater basilisks, bunch of mordenkainen's sword and an efreet* (in addition to the Lich and 2 greater mummies). I think that's all it summoned, maybe I forgot ogres and whatnot. didn't work so well at first, I died twice but I managed to kill the Lich with triple dispel magic and other pierce spells spam and all my summons attacked it. Then I hid behind a door and waited for the summoned crap to disappear haha, then killed the mummies. The Pit Fiends are so annoying, I had 0 buffs by the end, so I had limited time to dispel the Lich and kill it. The disadvantage that comes with having all the NPC mages running "Chain Contingency - See Enemy" is that once you successfully dispel their things, they don't have it as a back-up when they lose their buffs/take damage Also, 3 Gates means the Lich doesn't have much other level 9 spells. It won't, for example, cast Wish into double-length timestop into spam into time stop into more spam into time stop into you're dead xD
  8. Hey kreso, I stumbled upon the Spellhold Lich random spawn today and it had HLAs Problem is, I have this installed: ~STRATAGEMS/SETUP-STRATAGEMS.TP2~ #0 #6021 // Add high-level abilities (HLAs) to spellcasters -> Only selected spellcasters in Throne of Bhaal and Shadows of Amn get HLAs: v30 BWP fix + K4thos' EET compatibility + kreso's Spell Revisions compatibility It shouldn't have HLAs I think! Here is the list in strategems > mage > hla > soa_spec.2da Do you know what went wrong? If it helps, it was a Conjurer Lich with lots (LOTS) of Gates & Summon Fiend. It summoned 3 Pit Fiends in total, and 4 cornigon. xD BUT, it's better than having a Lich doing nothing so I'd definitely take that before a Lich walking around doing random crap spells edit: if Lich01.cre is the one that spawns, then it has HLAs while it shouldn't IMO
  9. Demi can you edit the original post in this thread telling people that the real latest version of kreso's modified SCS is in this post: http://gibberlings3.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=28249&page=8&do=findComment&comment=249008 Because I had the one in the original post and it's not as good right now, there are quite a few bugs!
  10. To patch kreso's SCS I have to re-install right? I mean, I have to run the "Update as needed" bat, but if I just run BG2 nothing will update I think.
  11. What are the differences between the new SCS+SR and the one currently on BWS? Because mages are already pre-summoning stuff right now, and that's great!
  12. Sorry for double post but it's been 2 days and I gotta update! So, I installed everything in the right order after a full, clean uninstall, and now everything works wonderfully well! Right versions for everything too, so it really was the old exe lying around, I think, which messed up the installation. We had a player crash after chateau irenicus (with Skip Chateau Irenicus installed) since we play multiplayer but it only happened once so... nothing more to say here. Multiplayer + lots of mods = a few crashes will happen. Surprisingly, multiplayer works really well right now, apart from that one crash. We played about 3 hours with main quest and side quests, no problem. Great job agb1, kreso, demi, and other modders Can't wait to finally meet those random-spawn Liches, kreso, and see what they're capable of this time instead of doing... well, nothing much!
  13. Hey demi, I just had an idea for Globe of Invulnerability. I see you added a Greater version of it but I say... don't! Instead, change the level 6 Globe of Invulnerability to be 5th level and under. Here's why: http://engl393-dnd5th.wikia.com/wiki/Globe_of_Invulnerability Per PnP 5e rules, Globe of Invulnerability (spell level 6) protects against spells of level 5 and lower. I think it would be fine if BG2's version did that as well. What do you think?
  14. Great idea! I will install everything I had installed and report what happens after! It's not gonna be until later tonight or tomorrow though.
  15. I got BWS from that link yes. And my Spell Revisions archive is named exactly the same as that one from the link: "Gibberlings3-SpellRevisions-v4b13-0-g4a737a9" I had a loose, old spell_rev.exe in my BG2 folder, maybe BWS used that .exe instead of replacing it with the new one? edit: BTW if I boot "updateifneeded" I don't need to re-download BWS right? Also, I just re-installed BG2 so there won't be loose exe files laying around
  16. You might have the older version of Spell Revisions in your BiG World Downloads folder. With my changes late yesterday it should be smart enough to get the newer one now, but I think your install predated my changes. Please let me know if it happens again. That would be surprising since I installed BWS yesterday and the mods I downloaded entered the folder for the first time at that point. I had never installed BWS before or any mods through it, so the Downloads folder got created yesterday and thus, there was nothing in it. But I will try re-installing and see what happens! edit: on that subject, is there a best way to uninstall mods via BWS? I'm quite reluctant to do the whole "delete your BG2 folder" strategy.
  17. "WARNING: File "spell_rev/setup-spell_rev.tp2" contains 'VERSION ~v4 Beta 11~' instead of expected 'VERSION ~v4 Beta 13~'! This is the file targeted for patching in "SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2.PATCH" in "Big World Fixpack/spell_rev". This might mean that the patches for this mod were made for a different version of the mod than the one that you are using, or this might mean that the mod was already patched and then removed from the list in the "BWP_Fixpack.installed" file without restoring the original pre-patched files." This happened yesterday night when trying to install Spell_rev, I pressed "y" so it patched anyway, it's probably the reason why I have the wrong version. It also did the same with SCS, I also pressed "y" to patch anyway: "WARNING: file "setup-scs.tp2" does not exist (this is the file targeted for patching in "SETUP-SCS.TP2.PATCH" in "Big World Fixpack/scs"). This might mean you did not extract all of the files of the mod, or it might mean that the patches for this mod were made for a different version of the mod than the version that you are using (you would see this message if the version you are using moved or renamed the tp2 file)." Big World Setup downloaded the files automatically for both mods so I doubt the problem comes from me. I just told BWS to install SCS and Spell_rev, nothing else. I had to retry downloads for cdTweaks and Skip Chateau Irenicus but they didn't pop any error messages and seem to be working fine. I could try it again but I don't have much time today, it would be tomorrow. edit: I used the " _ApplyPatches.bat" file btw when installing BWS.
  18. > This is fairly odd what's happening, but I don't think it has anything to do with SR.... I re-installed everything and it's still happening. Do you think I can fix that via EEKeeper? I could try unequiping all my gear (I have items which grant more spell slots), unmemorizing everything, saving, then trying again or something. Nice list btw. I don't understand half of it but lots of work! @agb1 I think the Big World Fixpack confuses versions of Spell_rev! Here's my weidu for Spell revisions after running Big World Setup: ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #0 // Spell Revisions: v4 Beta 11 ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #10 // Deva and Planetar Animations: v4 Beta 11 ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #20 // Mirror Image Fix: v4 Beta 11 ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #30 // Dispel Magic Fix: v4 Beta 11 ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #50 // Remove Disabled Spells from Spell Selection Screens: v4 Beta 11 ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #60 // Spell Deflection blocks AoE spells: v4 Beta 11 Is it using the .exe with gibberlings icon by any chance? Because it's the wrong one and installs an old version. edit: Or maybe this latest beta version of SR says v11 when it's not?
  19. I have the strangest of bugs, on my level 8 spells, I can only memorize 6 out of 8 spells. Here is a video showing what happens: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9xwr4te7jqfsss4/MemorizeBug.mp4?dl=0 Happens on both my characters right now. Any idea what's wrong? Weidu: Important: I have recently uninstalled everything then re-installed everything, but my version of Spell Revisions is quite old because I installed it via the gibberlings exe (v11), maybe a re-install is simply in order and it is the cause? I am a bit reluctant to re-install because 1. I have to do it on 2 computers so it's long and 2. I am waiting on kreso's tweaks!
  20. Can't wait to stumble upon an Undead Archmage when doing low-level quests Mine won't cast HLAs though, only specific mages do! Is this Lich mage kit still random? Like Conjurer, Evoker, Necromancer, etc
  21. The Tweaks Anthology (which you should install after IR anyway) fixes the item stacking that IR breaks, but yeah, this is quite an unneeded change.
  22. No, I mean he could be summoned by Summon Monster 9 Sorry, I was following your conversation not announcing a bug! haha edit: Are there more tweaks to come or am I ready to install everything?
  23. There is a very powerful and tanky Ogre (worth 10,000 xp) in the Illithid City. He's the one who announces who you gonna fight next. Might be worth looking into.
  24. Except that it has chain contingencies, contingencies and spell triggers loaded with spells above level 5. It just can't cast anything above level 5 because it's only level 9
