Mods Worked On

  1. Greetings, all! I have a question I wish to pose to all of you modders out here, since I haven't seen it asked before, and that is is it possible to change a BGII original mod to be compatible with BGII:EE? (If so, how?) As someone who has never made their own mods before, I haven't the slightest idea of where to begin so any and all help is greatly appreciated!
  2. Guaranteed to work under Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition only. Play under older versions at your own risk. Enhanced Edition Trilogy support added thanks to Guest Henanigan. Now this module actually installs. * Have you ever wondered why, for all the urgency of having to leave and the imminent threat of assassins, the main character of Baldur's Gate is at leisure to stroll across the grounds of Candlekeep, chatting, delivering bottles of cow cure, exterminating pests, even resting at the inn for days and weeks at a time if he has a notion to? Of course, the out-of-character reason for this back in the day was that the Prologue was a tutorial and only intended to teach players the controls and basic how-tos of gameplay. Nowadays, however, hardly anyone perceives it that way or needs to be instructed. Most players probably go from task to task for a little starting experience, if they do not find them too boring, before setting out at some time. This mod brings the Prologue back in-character and makes the urgency very real. You have one hour - sixty game time minutes - to finish your business in Candlekeep and depart with Gorion; and if you do, nothing will happen. One minute longer, however, and very real killers will show up wherever you are and whatever you may be doing - pick-pocketing idle nobles, fighting illusionary monsters, listening to prophesies of Alaundo and so on. All of those activities are very nice, but other people living it out in the monastery are not in the unique situation of being on a kill list. These assassins are much more competent than the pathetic tutorial-type thugs you already know. For a 1st-level character without a party fighting them means almost certain, but not absolutely certain, death. Most players and their characters will just have to pack it on time. If you dig your heels down and take them on, however - and defeat them - you will be treated to a little loot and some new content. Read the dialogues attentively. The most obvious reward is a new 1st-level spell, Vanishing Act, carried by one of the assassins (you will wish you had it before meeting them). If the battle turns out too difficult for your character and you end up having to run away after all, there are two other places where you can get such a scroll. One is far across a sea and another is in the home of the enemy. Taking the assassins on single-handedly is probably too much for any character, but Candlekeep is still your home after all. Think about who might help you. In the time that you have give people a reason to intervene. It also helps to be well-liked to begin with. Of course, not everyone will lay down their lives for you even then. In addition to all this, I took a hammer and pliers to some other things around Candlekeep. The spell Firebead Elvenhair casts on you to "protect you tonight" will really last into the fateful night, and so on. The best way to play this mod is in a new game, but if you load a save in the Prologue, the timer will start from there. You will not be able to win people's loyalty for helping them out, though. 3. Version 1.0

Ace's Enchanters Portrait Pack is a collection of 8 portraits from the character art of the Enchanters book series. They have been resized and packaged to work with most Infinity Engine games. All artwork is used with permission of the artist and author. View the Readme Visit the Forum View the Gallery
  4. Hello everyone, I've done multiple forum searches and have tried to follow multiple guides and haven't had luck with subsequent Google searches. I hope I won't be adding any redundancies to the forum though I feel fairly confident that I won't be (at least I hope). To explain everything from the start and to provide background: I'm running Debian Buster (testing) and I have a decent-enough of a build to run BG:EE, BG2:EE, etc. I'm relatively compotent with a terminal so this process didn't seem too intimidating (and still doesn't—I feel like I'm missing some sort of obvious detail). The other relevant information follows: I initially began my process of installing mods from the Beamdog forums following the directions from this topic. I first installed the BGEE+SOD Modmerge tool which seemed to go-on without a hitch. I then began the process of installing the BG1NPC mod. I followed the directions from this page. I first installed the WeiDU files and copied them into my /usr/bin/ folder. After this, I began to run into issues. I've attached two screenshots to this topic and in subsequent paragraphs I will explain what I did leading up to the errors. Leading up to the errors, I extracted the contents of the folder into my BG:EE directory (/home/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition/). I then attempted to run the tolower command which came back with a relatively simple error stating the since I'm using the EE of the game, it would break the game if the command were to run so it quit. This made sense to me. My thought process was that the weinstall command would be the next step to take. Here is the error: The installer was unable to find dialog.tlk. In a few searches through the Beamdog forums, I found that some people would move dialog.tlk to the /home/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition/ directory and then move it back once the installer ran. I attempted this but the following error was returned: At this point, I found myself at a bit of a loss. In addition to this, the directions from the readme seem to indicate that one should use wine when booting the game? Is that requirement? Here's a screenshot of what I am referencing: Please let me know if I can clarify anything. Does anyone have any ideas about where to go from here or anything that I am missing? I've reverified the game in Steam so I'm ready to go at it again. Thanks all!
  5. On BGEE only, location 0x44 in the "Worldmap Entry" substructure contains an offset to where AR1000 (Ulgoth's Beard) is in the "Area Entry" list. Because it is not present in BG2EE though the SoA map has additional DLC areas, I suspect this was for marking where Tales Expansion areas appeared in the Area Entry list. For modding purposes it doesn't seem important since the area count at 0x0020 (Worldmap Entry) includes all additional Area Entries. The eight bytes between the "BGEE Flags" field and this offset are unknown. That leaves 112 unknown bytes at the end of the "Worldmap Entry".
  6. Version v13

The Ajantis BG Expansion Modification is a mod for original ("vanilla") BG(+TotSC), Tutu, Baldur’s Gate Trilogy (BGT), Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition (BG:EE), and Enhanced Edition Trilogy (EET). For original BG:TotSC, the mod adds a friendship track and the BG1NPC Project romance for Ajantis. The original BG1NPC Project romance was adjusted slightly with regard to the restrictions of the BG1 engine, although overall the content stayed the same. For Tutu, BGT, BG:EE, and EET, the mod adds a friendship track and more romance content for the BG1NPC Project romance for Ajantis. Content-wise, the mod is meant as an addition to the BG1NPC Project, but technically it can be installed and played without the BG1NPC Project. If the player started and interrupted Ajantis's BG1NPC Project romance, the friendship sequence should initiate after that depending on how far the romance went. If you do not have the BG1NPC Project installed, the friendship talks become available immediately. For BG:EE and EET there is a second, independent component with the option to use the existent BG:EE BAM for Ajantis' shield (green dragon on golden ground), if BG1NPC is installed. 7. Version v4

The Mod gives a choice of custom portraits for Ajantis. The Ajantis Portrait Pack is compatible with BG1, TotSC, BGT, Tutu, BG:EE, BGII:EE, and EET. It detects the game install automatically. For the BGII part of the game, the portrait is meant for the Sir Ajantis NPC for BGII mod, but can be installed independently. NOTE: For all games, the portraits have the same naming convention as the BG1 default portrait since with v15 and up, the Sir Ajantis for BGII mod uses the game portrait (which is also present in all BG2 games). This means, that if you installed an Ajantis portrait from another source the same portrait will be used as well in the BGII part of the game without need of further action. Many thanks to the artists for granting permission to include them as alternatives for Ajantis: Amaurea, Azguz aka Azze, berelinde, Casul, Catlepha, Miloch, Senka and wonnimchunha! 8. The EE Mod Setup Tool (for windows) Overwiew EET installs get more complex now that more and diverse mods are available to enhance the basic game. K4thos, the EET author recommended BWS for save installs when he started the project. However, original BWS has lost the supporters it had in the past and slowly decayed. This tool is aiming to provide similar functionality to mod EE games in large scale. The BWS-EE is a fork from Big World Setup (BWS old) which was originally created by dabus. BWS-EE is streamlined to serve EE game installations in a way that is up-to-date and maintainable still. While the tool was mainly intended to support EET, it also can be used to mod other EE games as listed below. Features: - assistance for creating your own customized game with any number of mods - downloading current versions of selected mods - easy mod installation for EET - correct install order of mods/components - merges SoD DLC with BGEE if needed - handle mod and components conflicts and dependencies - apply interim fixes when needed. - use players' tested compilations - save your own compilations for re-use or sharing Supported games: - Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition (standalone game) - Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition (standalone game) - Enhanced Edition Trilogy EET( BG1:EE + SoD + BG2:EE ) - Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition - Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition Supported mods - All actively maintained or properly completed ones! 9. I installed some tweaks from Tweaks anthology for my BGEE SOD, and some of my dialogues with Khalid shows completely different sentences from different dialogues of the game, and some item descriptions (e.g. Full Plate Mail) contains dialogues instead of the proper description. Any idea how can I fix it without reinstalling the game/reinstalling the mods? Or maybe SOD causing these problems? (Tweaks Anthology never caused these kind of issues with BG2EE or IWDEE). Thanks in advance!
  10. IESDP does not yet provide descriptions for many script actions introduced by the more recent Enhanced Editions patches. 12. Hi. I've installed EET using BWS. My install was fairly plain, mostly just ai enhancements and things like rogue and wizard slayer rebalancing. I realized that bws is no longer supported but I managed to manually force it to use updated mods, and it all seemed to work fine. Now, I was playing through a solo run with my fighter/thief and decided to get some points in set snare. Now, every time I use the skill the dialogue box simply says: trap set:charname and no success/failure roll afterwards. When I start up BGII SoA through steam, and try to set traps it works fine. I also restored my install through bws, and when I load a clean BGEE I can set traps fine. Anyone have any idea's which mod(s) may be causing this problem or is it EET itself? If so, I was wondering if I want to play with SCS and RR, etc through the trilogy do I need to install these mods seperately into BGEE and BGIIEE (I'm using the steam version) Any input/help much appreciated!
  13. I have already switched off the "Gore" option in the gameplay menu, but still I see lot of blood on my screen, in human-like npc and even in bloodless monsters such as skeletons - (SoD - Started Catacombs) I just don't like depicting blood in the PC-games, so any idea how I can change at least it's color to green, for an example. Thanx.
  14. Version v9

This mod adds many options to those who use rogues and bards in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, BG2: Shadows of Amn (with or without the expansion pack Throne of Bhaal), Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition, and with the mod conversions Baldur's Gate Trilogy and Baldur's Gate Tutu. The mod makes several changes to thieves and bards as well as offering new items, merchants, and kits. The standalone Sharpshooter Thief Kit mod has been deprecated as it is now included in the Song and Silence mod. Learn more about the mod View the Readme Visit the Forum
  15. Hi everyone, I am using beta 4 and the latest BGEE with SOD. Items added by the mod, such as the bag of holding etc. have incorrect descriptions. Monsters also have wrong descriptions (golemsn are named "what?" etc.) Attached is the debug file. How can this be fixed? Many thanks, SETUP-CDTWEAKS.7z
  16. Version v9

The Tweaks Anthology is a WeiDU compilation of fixes, cosmetic changes, and tweaks that will run on every Infinity Engine game, from the original Planescape:Torment, through the Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate series, and the new Enhanced Editions of the games. The successor to BG2 Tweaks and several other tweak packs, some of these were fan requests, others are needed fixes, and others simply make dealing with the more irritating aspects of the game engine easier. Each component can be installed separately so the player can pick and choose only which ones they wish to install. Forum Project Page Full readme Visit the Gallery

    Glam's NPC Pack

    Version v2

A drow, a dwarf, a halfling, a dragon(?) and a priest of Talos walk into a tavern. What's the punchline? 18. Here's the most recent version: https://www.dropbox....052015.zip?dl=0 - spawns bunnies in most woodland areas - squirrels! - fix for Firebead and Nessie - horses get dialogue, but not much Install: before game start if possible Talking: Cows, Cats, Eagles, Rats Encounters: Rabbits, NE corner of Beregost map; Birds, Coast Way, just north of caravan Potion of Talking: talk to Firebead in Candlekeep, or ask Gellana Mirrorshade for advice Other Points of Interest: Cat-killing doppelganger, Reevor's Rat Quest (Prologue), Nessa the Cow (Prologue) Resource Sharing: Patches dialogue and/or override files into cow.cre, cowh.cre, cat.cre, catp.cre, eagle.cre, rat.cre, rat2.cre The Cow Goes Moo The cow goes moo and ruminates on philosophy, the cats quote Nietzche, the rats... the rats want to be your friend... I've been working on a small joke mod for BG1, partly as a tutorial project. I've tried making it crossplatform compatible - I've checked it for BGT, but don't have Tutu or EE to try it out on. So yeah... if you've got a spare half hour, either Tutu or EE, and feel like hanging out with talking animals for a bit, I'd appreciate the help. Screenshots: Just because the cow *can* talk, doesn't mean it will... Charname, Defender of Cats So far: - The mod is confined to BG1, with plans to expand later. - - - You need to enter an area for the first time for the patches to take, or visit Farmer Ted's Cow at the Friendly Arm Inn or Central Baldur's Gate. - - - This will overwrite any other mod patches to the cows and cats (though I don't know of any atm). - All "Creature has nothing to say to you" replies are transformed to animal sounds. - Using a Potion of Spurious Plot Device obtained from Firebead (Candlekeep), or Gellana Mirrorshade (Friendly Arm Inn) will access the philosophy and Nietzche. - The revolutionary chickens are coming... (not written or coded yet, though). If you're interested, PM me and I'll get you a download link. Thank you in advance, Thimblerig
  19. I see you named 0x2c of the eff v1 structure as 'special' only in the itm fileformat. This field works all the same way in all eff v1 structures (spl, cre) and even eff v2 has the field. This became a very important field in the EE, because it can be used as a third (dword) parameter in eff v1 effects, so a lot of things can be done without external effects. The old engine used it only in a handful of effects and even then it was mostly internal use (there are probably only 2 effects where a modder would ever have access to it). But in the EE, there will be many more such opcodes.
  20. Hey there my BGEE is crashing after installing BGII Tweak Pack. This is literally my only mod. It keeps on saying that I have too many tables. These notices appear yet the game keeps on running. Then a bit later the game crashes completely and I get these attachments (one from character creation; other from opened save game) to my crash folder that are too big to show here. Help plz can't play at all!
  21. It looks like BG:EE and BG2:EE support a couple of new tokens: <BLACK_PITS> unknown? <PRO_CLASS> Returns the main character's class (e.g. 'beast master' or 'fighter/mage/thief'). <PRO_MASTERMISTRESS> Returns 'master' or 'mistress' depending on the the main character's gender. The tokens CLASS and MASTERMISTRESS exist only for the main character. BLACK_PITS didn't return anything in my tests. It might be that it is used internally or only works under certain conditions.
  22. I haven't seen this posted somewhere already, so I want to share a more complete list of override folders and their priorities for both BG:EE and BG2:EE. USER\Movies USER\Characters USER\Portraits USER\Sounds USER\Scripts USER\Override GAME\Movies GAME\Characters GAME\Sounds GAME\Scripts GAME\Override (is overriden by all others)
  23. Yo dudes, How do I modify BGEE.SQL with WeiDu? I need a step by step example - I have noticed that my last version of the Super Ultimate Portrait Pack causes a significant amount of issues with updated versions of BGEE.SQL I would prefer to be able to edit my downloads and fix this within the next 72 hours as I was recalled by the Army and have to go back to the middle east all of next year. The optimal way to do this is to edit BGEE.SQL with a WeiDu mod . . . issue is that I am not sure how to do this a cursory look at forums and WeiDu documentation doesn't really show me how to do this (I've made custom NPC's and other things before so I have a small amount of WeiDu knowledge and can write programs in Java and VBA) My guess is that I need to use the "WRITE_ASCII" command on the BGEE.SQL file (I see that ADD_JOURNAL does edit BGEE.SQL to some degree) but all I have seen about BGEE.SQL documentation is from Cam in this thread at G3: http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=25609 Essentially I just need to insert about 546 lines into the BGEE.SQL for both BGEE and BG2EE from one install file - then copy over the portraits in the override folder - pretty sure I can do that on my own though. Thanks - mod that is being updated is here - your crashing culprit: http://www.moddb.com/members/rodman49/addons/super-ultimate-portrait-pack
  24. I was looking through items with Near infinity and I noticed that there were a few weapon appearances applied to items that aren't available in the generic list of what's available as such GS - a Wizard staff F2 - Short fire sword ZW - Wings -.^ I was wondering where i could find a complete list of each of these Weapon appearances available ? or just the files location ? Thanks a tonne for anyone who can help me
