  3. Hello everyone, I've done multiple forum searches and have tried to follow multiple guides and haven't had luck with subsequent Google searches. I hope I won't be adding any redundancies to the forum though I feel fairly confident that I won't be (at least I hope). To explain everything from the start and to provide background: I'm running Debian Buster (testing) and I have a decent-enough of a build to run BG:EE, BG2:EE, etc. I'm relatively compotent with a terminal so this process didn't seem too intimidating (and still doesn't—I feel like I'm missing some sort of obvious detail). The other relevant information follows: I initially began my process of installing mods from the Beamdog forums following the directions from this topic. I first installed the BGEE+SOD Modmerge tool which seemed to go-on without a hitch. I then began the process of installing the BG1NPC mod. I followed the directions from this page. I first installed the WeiDU files and copied them into my /usr/bin/ folder. After this, I began to run into issues. I've attached two screenshots to this topic and in subsequent paragraphs I will explain what I did leading up to the errors. Leading up to the errors, I extracted the contents of the folder into my BG:EE directory (/home/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition/). I then attempted to run the tolower command which came back with a relatively simple error stating the since I'm using the EE of the game, it would break the game if the command were to run so it quit. This made sense to me. My thought process was that the weinstall command would be the next step to take. Here is the error: The installer was unable to find dialog.tlk. In a few searches through the Beamdog forums, I found that some people would move dialog.tlk to the /home/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition/ directory and then move it back once the installer ran. I attempted this but the following error was returned: At this point, I found myself at a bit of a loss. In addition to this, the directions from the readme seem to indicate that one should use wine when booting the game? Is that requirement? Here's a screenshot of what I am referencing: Please let me know if I can clarify anything. Does anyone have any ideas about where to go from here or anything that I am missing? I've reverified the game in Steam so I'm ready to go at it again. Thanks all!

    BG1NPC and EET

    Having a bit of trouble getting these two to play together. I installed with BWS (the only error was due to portraits which I followed the automatic solution), but the mod doesn't start. So I uninstalled and reinstalled with the more updated version of the mod (22.8) than BWS wanted and it's still not working. I've tried installing to the BGEE and SoD directories and it installs fine but doesn't work still. When I try to install it into the BG2EE directory I receive the following error So I remembered that with BGT you'd install it into the BGT folder, so I tried to install it into the EET directory and got the following error: I'm obviously doing something wrong but I can't figure out what it is. Any help would be appreciated.
  5. Hello :> I've almost completed my playthrough of BG1NPC project on BG1:EE and have to say that it's been wonderful! Everyone involved in the project has shown great talent and devotion and have my deepest appreciation for keeping it alive and updated in enhanced editions! Thank you <3 Now to my question: Which mods would you recommend would be fitting to install when continuing the playthrough into BG2:EE? (Not sure if skipping Siege of Dragonspear is the way to go or just romp through it and import my char from bg1 into bg2) Current party: Imoen Khalid Jaheira Kivan Xan Mostly in mind are mods that work and fit with the BG1npc somewhat. I'm not looking for a huge list of mods. Mostly I just want to keep Kivan and Xan if its possible My biggest worry are that most mods may not be compatible at all. So far I've considered: Kivan and Deheriana Companions for BG2 v15 (might not be completely BG2EE compatable?) Unfinished bussiness v25 (appears to be bg2ee compatable from reading some forum posts) Xan for BG2 v15 (appears to be bg2ee compatable from reading some forum posts) Ajantis (BG2, ToB), by Jastey v14 BG2Tweak pack v16 Crossmod Banter Pack v15 (might not be completely BG2EE compatable? looks like cmorgan quit?) Or am I going at this the wrong way? I've been playing BG1EE and installed mods similar to how it was done in the old days with weidu installers but recently heard of the EET project that apparently makes a lot of mods compatible. Getting that to work might introduce even more bugs though and I dont want to install too much. Appreciate any help or tips Thanks

    BG1NPC and BG1 UB Conflicts

    Hey folks Can I ask a quick question about the interaction of the BG1 NPC Project and Unfinished Business, please? Reading this thread: http://gibberlings3.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=27859 it seems that four components from UB conflict with components from Phase II of the NPC Pack and aren't installed when BG1NPC is present, namely Finishable Kagain Caravan Quest Coran and the Wyverns Kivan and Tazok Branwen and Tranzig Can I ask, what are the corresponding quests from the NPC Pack? Are they broadly similar to the missing content from UB, or do they do very different things? Does Branwen / Kivan still tear Tranzig / Tazok a new one, can I finish the Kagain quest or is there something entirely different in store for me when I try? Thanks! Capreolus

    Won't install in OSX

    Hello. I cannot get this to open on OS X. I'm using a 2012 Macbook pro with the latest updates and using BGT Weidu. I follow the instructions, but when I click on the command file, it tells me I do not have access to the file, even though I should. The message reads: "The file setup-bg1npc.command could not be executed because you do not have appropriate access privileges. To view or change access privileges, select the file in the Finder and chose File>Get Info." I do so, changing "read only" to "read & write" wherever I can and making the computer completely accessible, but I still get the same error. Any and all help would be most appreciated. Thanks.
