Mods Worked On

  1. The BGII Enhanced Edition Tweaks Anthology used to work for me no problem but now the instant it gets to the part where you press 0 for English and 1 for Czech and I'm forced to closed it because it freezes. Anyone know why this might be happening? The installer I was using was cdtweaks-v9.exe if it matters and my OS is Windows 10 Home 64bit.
  2. I would like to get your feedback, thoughts, and experience regarding the installation routine of WeiDU mods. Assume that we have a mod called "MurphyLaw" , version "1.1.1" with the description of "Anything that can possibly go wrong, does." Most players have this mod installed with version "1.1.1". After a long time, there was an update to "v2.0.0". Players want to update the mod. For every possible case that might exist, what would be the safest and least error-prone workflow in order to have a successful mod update? Case A - Single mod or the mod that was installed as the last one A1 - What players do: Extract new 'MurphyLaw v2.0.0' version into the game directory, overwriting old 'MurphyLaw' files Re-install the same components by launching Setup-MurphyLaw and selecting "Re-install" for every component (WeiDU will then reinstall updated MurphyLaw) A2 - Proposed workflow: Keep the names of the currently installed components Uninstall the old version of the 'MurphyLaw' by launching Setup-MurphyLaw --uninstall Remove old 'MurphyLaw v1.1.1' directory from the game directory Extract 'MurphyLaw v2.0.0' version into the game directory Install the same components again by their names Case B - Updating and reinstalling mod that was installed between other mods: B1 - What players do: Extract new mod version into game directory overwriting old 'MurphyLaw' files Re-install the same components by launching Setup-MurphyLaw and selecting "Re-install" for every component (WeiDU will then reinstall updated MurphyLaw and all mods installed after) B2 - Proposed workflow: Keep the names of the currently installed components for the 'MurphyLaw v1.1.1' and for all other mods installed after Uninstall all mods after the updated mod by launching Setup-MyMod --uninstall in reverse order from WeiDU.log Uninstall the 'MurphyLaw v1.1.1' by launching Setup-MurphyLaw --uninstall Remove 'MurphyLaw v1.1.1' mod directory from the game directory Extract 'MurphyLaw v2.0.0' into the game directory Install 'MurphyLaw v2.0.0' using the same components Install all remaining mods that were installed after updated mod Explanation: Why uninstallation and removal is required instead of simply overwriting the mod files? The first reason would the way how WeiDU handles reinstalling mod components. WeiDU keeps 'uninstall information' inside sub-folder name of component index number or mod DESIGNATED number if exist. "MurphyLaw v1.1.1" comes with 3 components: "Weapons", "Armors", "Shields". WeiDU.log contains the following: ~MURPHYLAW/MURPHYLAW.TP2~ #0 #0 // Weapons: v1.1.1 ~MURPHYLAW/MURPHYLAW.TP2~ #0 #1 // Armors: v1.1.1 ~MURPHYLAW/MURPHYLAW.TP2~ #0 #2 // Shields: v1.1.1 "MurphyLaw v2.0.0" comes with 6 components components: "Armors: Mail", "Armors: Plate", "Shields: Large", "Shields: Medium", "Weapons: Sling", "Weapons: Spear". The indexes of those components are 0,1,2,3,4,5. So If you do 'Extract> Overwrite and Reinstall' you would actually install completely different components of "MurphyLaw v2.0.0": "Armors: Leather", "Armors: Plate", "Shields: Large" The next thing would be the code loops. Mods often contain code that has some sort of loops: for (every file inside MurphyLaw/ITM directory) COPY file TO override directory. If the author of "MurphyLaw v2.0.0" removes some files from the MurphyLaw/ITM directory and the user simply extract the new version into game folder, the old files won't be removed. Mod re-installation via weidu will still copy old files that should no longer exist. This also can lead to problems and false bug reports. Questions: Assuming that even if I A2 and B2 workflows are complicated and manually preforming those steps require multiple actions and is time consuming: Do you think that those are correct or there are some missing steps that I should include? Do you think such A2 and B2 workflows should be the default and forced when the players re-install mods to achieve safest and least error-prone mod updates? @Wisp Could you provide insights?
  3. Hello everyone! I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post this issue here or email someone, but I figure if I got it wrong someone will point me in the right direction! =) I've recently been on an IE games binge and have reinstalled the BG series. I decided to try the Ajantis mod and downloaded it from the G3 page...everything seemed fine during the file download, but once unzipped, I realized that there was only a folder and no Setup-ajantisbg2.exe file! Was I supposed to download more than one zip file? If so, where do I find the second one? Thanks for your time! B
  4. Hello I am writing in the name of my friend who have problems with this mod on installation level. At some point it doesn't successfully install components which ends up with characters gibberish in numbers, and even ruining sound drivers. Without the mod, game itself runs fine. I suspect the problems lies in pc itself since i used same mod version 23.3 with bg and it runs without any problems. But I am not sure as i don't have knowledge in IT, and I want to get what could be the problem, how to fix it, or at least wheres should I look to find whats wrong. More detailed: the installation crashes at part where Tiax is suppose to show up, and time between the characters banters.
  5. The installation program gives me a load of error message related to the unsuccessful parsing of some files in stratagems_external/workspace\ssl_out\. Examples include: [tb#_compile_eval_buffer/stratagems_external/workspace\ssl_out\dw2ms3ba.baf] PARSE ERROR at line 2044 column 1-41 Near Text: ) [CheckStatGT] argument [ENCHANTMENT_IMMUNITY] not found in [stats.IDS] [tb#_compile_eval_buffer/stratagems_external/workspace\ssl_out\dw#1tmg5.baf] PARSE ERROR at line 16999 column 1-96 Near Text: ) [CheckStatGT] argument [DW_ITEM_MM] not found in [stats.IDS] which all point to some missing items within stats.ids, and in which I actually cannot find any item such as dw_item_mm or chantment_immunity I am not sure whether it is because that I run vanilla BGT instead of EE or EET, so the program skips some files during installation-- i have no error messages when i install SCS on bgee. Or that it is an error specific to my system or my copy of bgt, or that I have not installed some pre-requisite elements. I am running vanilla BGT with but BG2 fixpack installed. I set my non-unicode language code to japanese but i doubt that matters because those items referenced in files that have parsing errors are not to be found in stats.ids in the first place. i cannot find out what enchantment_immunity or dw_item_mm mean on the net and i just want to be reassured that they wont cause problems for me. // I have also encounter a really weird glitch during my playthrough, but i am not sure whether its caused by scs, or tweak anthology components that i installed after scs, or conflicts with bg2fixpack or that it is inherent in bgt. Kagain in my party, when we are at fisherman's lake where drizzt is about, would spout whole lines from the quest completion journal entry of that quest where you go fetch a book for elvenhair....but when i reload my save he doesnt speak like that anymore.....and when i reload again (my main char died).. he again speaks....my journal entry.. after each time he speaks the party would gain and lose an item, which i cant verify what exactly it is since there are a load of loot we are carrying and also the item removed might also be that item we temporarily gained. It doesnt sound like problems caused by scs or tweak anthology since i didnt install anything that alters npc dialogues or npc location....but other than those two mods i have only fixpack and trilogy mod... // one more odd glitch that i am not sure whether its caused by scs, tweak anthology or inherent in trilogy with fixpack.... that injured hobgoblin in fisherman's lake, turns hostile as soon as he is spotted, and gives no dialogue to advance his quest. I could only find a forum thread related to this bug but its apparently for bgee instead of trilogy, so i suspect that bgee inherits this problem from adapting elements of fixpack and trilogy...but i can find no other mentions of this glitch in bgt and no fix either. SCS is the only one that changes AI behaviour so I have doubts that it could be related but i am not sure. .............here is my weidu.log............ // Log of Currently Installed WeiDU Mods // The
