You start without any protection spells though any potions you drank prior to leaving the pocket plane are still active.

Bhodi sends an insect swarm that prevents all spellcasters from casting any spell. I can't even cast the quick ones like Stoneskin.

I keep getting killed. How are people beating this fight?

Wow! This battle at the end of Chapter 6 is insane. The enemies all start invisible and hasted and come right up to you immediately and do septuple damage killing many characters in 1 hit.

I do manage to get Stoneskin up quickly but nothing else. I cannot get rid of their invisibility quickly.

I have tried turning my entire party invisible but the enemies can apparently see through that.

What strategies have people used successfully?

Does SCS include the items upgrades in the Items Upgrade Mod?

Or do I need to install that one separately?

I have not played BG2 in many years but am feeling the itch!

I have read about other mods like IWDification, Ascension, Rogue Rebalancing Mod,  Items Upgrade (which may be part of SCS already?). Can I install SCS and these other mods?

Is there a specific order for installing them?

SCS has option of:   Treat mages' and priests' High-Level Abilities as innate abilities rather than memorisable spells

Do most people use HLA as innate or memoizable spell?

How do you get the game to install to a different directory?

I got some errors installing SCS. My BG2:EE is installed with Steam.

The error is with Initialize Mod. Later many things get skipped due to error with Initialize mod while other things are installed.

Any ideas?

It might help you, if you give a little detail on what kind of install you are going after ? Though, most people would do well with BiG World Setup... even if it is a few mods they just want to install, as the system is completely customizable...

You would need to tell a little more about your installs to actually say with a definition if the case in question has been solved. Such as version numbers, mod list and other factors, all which mostly can be found in the games folder's weidu.log file... which you probably won't have anymore, as you talk about past games. And don't use w/, it could be "with" or "without" !

It's easier to fix the problem when you ask help when you are facing one, rather than speculate the future and past events.

I have the urge to play BG2 again. I have on 2 occasions played it w/ SCS and ended with exact same problem. When I get to fighting Sendai in ToB i cannot kill Sendai. When he gets to what I think is 0 HP he just stays there while my party beats on him forever. I found other people online with the same problem.

Is this avoidable? Did I male a mistake during install?

I can deal with some weird things of SCS like my summoned fire elementals standing there and not moving or fighting for me but the Sendai issue is obviously a killer. I have twice played ToB w/ SCS and been unable to finish due to the Sendai never dying.

Has this been fixed?
