  1. I wish to advise moder that I have played through the Horde mod and have been keeping a record of the bugs here (starting June 6):

    http://baldursextendedworld.com/Vanilla_Forums/discussion/343/the-horde-mod/p1

I also thought I had an issue with Horde mod and dorn quests in BG2 (see here for reference: http://baldursextendedworld.com/Vanilla_Forums/discussion/995/dorns-first-quest-in-bg2-and-windspear-hills-becoming-a-paladin-possible-bug-clash-with-mods/p1 ) but I removed Horde mod to hope to fix issue and the issue persists and so it is not related - but as I now no longer have Horde mod there may be more bugs with horde mod beyond where I left off (before going to spellhold)

  2. Just wanted to send a quick message to say that I hope k4thos and the rest of the modding team are going well with all the modding (especially in the crazy times that we are in, IRL)! I am as eager as I was when I last posted at what I think will be such a fantastic mod!

*hands out free potions of mind focusing* :)

years? No, I don't think so. I would label the current progress as "pre-alpha":

    - all dialogs and scripts converted and compiled without errors,

    - spells finished,

    - items on the way (still working on the code that automatically generates EE style item descriptions based on stats and actual opcodes used by the item),

    - all other file formats conversions finished,

    - AWizardDidIt’s writing implemented.

In other words both IWD:EE and IWD2 content is already up and running locally. It's not ready for tests yet since some stuff is still missing:

    - above mentioned items code is still WIP,

    - enemy AI to work correctly requires help of EEex - I will send to Bubb a list of stuff that I hope EEx will be able to solve,

    - I think some people may be interested in IWD2 style custom progression system with feats and free multi-classing that this mod aims to offer - lua code for this stuff as well as lifting engine limitations to allow it is not there yet (IWD2 feats are done though)

No ETAs - it will be done when it's done and only when I feel that it’s in polished enough state to warrant external testing effort. I also don't want to put any pressure on Bubb, so nah, no ETAs.

The project is far enough in development though that I'm now comfortable with asking for help once again. New topic regarding these tasks (missing Tracking lines for BG1, Contact Other Plane strings for BG1/2 and IWD2 content, as well as familiar strings for IWD2 content) will be posted soon.

This sounds very promising! Thank you so much for sharing and all the hard work you and the rest of the Moders are doing.

not sure what you mean by that, Gorion88. EEex existence doesn't change anything for Beamdog who have access to EE engine source code and can already implement whatever they wish in it.

Oh sorry I meant to say in regards to Icewind Dale 2 and how they do not have the source code for that game (or not yet, if it ever turns up in a random computer somewhere!). Because if I understand the IWD in EET, it will not only include parts of IWD1 but IWD2.

some new information regarding the progress (compliable script conversion milestone) as well as EEex dependency clarificationhttps://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/comment/1049817#Comment_1049817

Correct me if I am wrong as I am not familiar with all the modding details, but with this EEex, is it in theory then possible to make an enhanced edition of IWD2? Since you have greater degree of flexibility in being able to modify the hardcoded aspects of the game and it wouldn't take as long to do? Or is this more wishful thinking in my part haha! Because originally I thought the issue was not having access to the source code, but this new program EEex allows you to access more than you would normally be able to in an everyday sense?

That's been my hope and dream for years. I check these boards almost daily because of it. A tool that will allow me to easily make a mega-mod install and play BG1EE, IWDEE, & BG2EE all as one game (plus mods). A "true" Enhanced Edition Trilogy.

I get nerd shivers just imagining it! 😃

I am glad I am not the only one. :)

  7. Thank you for all the work you do modders! I would be very keen to play a full run through of BG1/2/SOD/IWD1/2 in one go beginning in Candlekeep and then going up North before coming back down to the end!

I have been looking around a few other forums and it seems that BWS is a tool that is no longer used but project infinity has replaced it and is now in beta?

Is it correct to say that once 2.6 comes out for all the games (minus IWD2) then work can begin on being able to install them with project infinity using this IWD in BG MOD?

Also just to clarify, am I right to assume this is all possible with the Enhanced editions?
