Dual classing Nalia to Mage problem

When attempting to dual class Nalia to a mage from an initial Swashbuckler kit, I get stuck on the window of choosing spells because it tells me I have 0 spells remaining before I have even chosen any. The "Done" button never activates, so I cannot proceed.

 

This is after installing the new Nalia romance mod from PPG, which is probably relevant. Any information about the issue is greatly appreciated.

As a followup, I tried it again and was allotted two spells to select, so I was able to complete the change. I was not able to reproduce the problem afterwards.
