Emmerich Hawk dialogue bug

So, I just started HoW and for no apparent reason when I try to talk to the archer Emmerich Hawk and say "Let me ask you something else" or either route that reaches "What do you want to know?", the PC's automatically say "Nothing, farewell" or similar and dialogue ends!

 

So how the hell do I talk to him?

 

Edit: Disregard that, I tried it today and it works fine. No idea what got into it yesterday though.
