Guest Joeno Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Hi, In IESDP the arealink 2DA description is missing for all but BG1, where it states that it is thought to be responsible for area links. Looking at the version in BG2 again, you can see that it also mentions other files - most notable files like CD3CREA2. I think that, in BG2 at least, but probably also in the other games, arealink.2da and the related arealins.2da in the first column refer to a biff file containing area-information, and in the third and further to additional biff files that should be loaded or cached whenever that biff file is loaded or cached by the game. The second column obviously refers to the number of (valid) entries. This could be used for the caching that multiplayer games do - PST only has a leftover file from BG1 there.
