  1. I'll say one thing, it's a testament to your tenacity that you're still at it seven years later!!! I'm still here, as well, BigRob, and Aklon'll be ready when he's ready, but I'm fairly certain there'll be a couple of fan girls still here, waiting to snap him up when he's released. Good luck with juggling RL and modding, we'll be right here when you get back. :)

  2. Hey, I've been around for years, and I still haven't given up on Aklon, so I'm willing to wait a little longer (especially if it means less potential gamebreaking bugs).

Hang in there, BigRob, we're all rooting for ya! (and Aklon, of course!)

  3. Kudos on the release!!! And thank you for the nod in the readme, but in truth.... *you're* the one who truly, truly rocks! Thank you for all the effort you put in bringing this wonderful, endearing Lathander priest to life!

  4. I agree with Ankhesenpaaten, I thought that was *hilarious*! Even though, I was a bit annoyed when I couldn't manage to resolve said problem in Ust Natha. I thought the solution was absolutely priceless (although Ajantis chose the Shadow Thieves' basement to solve his little problem, maybe that's not the most appropriate spot?).

I won't say anymore, as I don't want to give anything away, but well done!

  5. As far as I know, in v8, as in the previous versions, a PC of a healing class can restore Deheriana. Witness the readme:

If PC is a male or not interested in capturing Kivan's heart, Deheriana's story arc will develop in the end of the game. To see the story in full, please do not miss the talks with Aphril, Demin and Ellesime (in the end of the game). A happy ending of Deheriana's story will occur if Aerie or Cernd are in the party or if PC is one of the healing classes (Ranger, Druid, Cleric or Paladin)
  6. Hooray for progress! :p

I'm still here too, awaiting Aklon patiently (don't care how long it takes, I'm certain he'll be worth the wait!). We all know how RL gets, so we'll never hold it against you!

*hands BigRob some ice cream* You've earned it!!! :p

  7. Short answer, not yet, but I promise we'll stop for ice-cream soon. :D

    Yaaaaay!!! Ice cream!!!!! :D

though I have hit a bit of a snag in recent weeks with the Modder's traditional hard drive crash (am I in the club for real now guys?). Or actually, Modder's traditional hard drive vents fire while attempting a computer upgrade...

Oh dear, that sounds particularly nasty!!! :D

Good luck getting your putter back on track!! As someone who just spent a week tinkering in her own computer (and almost went insane because of it, long story!), I really feel for you. :p

Indeed, technology's awesome until the day it fails you!

  8. I think SisterV is having a little joke with you there, Eleima, given that it was he who did Xan's voice. :)

I am aware of that, but I didn't want to appear over-enthusiastic in my praise, as I often come off as too cheery, gushing, fan girl... Blush.gif

  9. Xan is a terrific mod, except for that irritating voice he's got...but I hear there's a way to restore the original voice from BG1, at least for his select/order lines...

I thought it was the opposite (allowing you to use Xan's BG2 voice in BG1).

Anyway, I found Xan incredibly annoying in BG1 (using BG1 NPC) but I like him much better in BG2. Maybe it's because he whines less, maybe it's because I like his BG2 personal quests (especially the Eldreth Veluuthra one), I don't know...

You can indeed use the mod's soundset in BG1. Just head over here to Xan's page and scroll to "A BG1 Soundset for Xan using the BG2 Xan voice actor (separate download) is also available."

However, I'm fairly certain that you can restore the original voice from BG2, it'd probably take a bit of tinkering in the override folder, but nothing as complicated as brain surgery.

Although... why would you do that?!? :) I really liked the voicing for the mod!

Of course, maybe it's because I played the mod before I played BG1.... ;)

Buuuutttt..... back to Angelo, and that awesome review!

No thanks necessary, Cal Jones, that was well-earned praise for you! :D

    Edit: a silly typo...

  10. As promised, my review is up - I hope this is OK.

Any questions, let me know. ;)

Well, I don't have any questions, but I do want to say one thing: :D

I finally got around to reading your review, and I was impressed with its quality. It really shows that you are a former games journalist, it really seems that this kind of exercise comes naturally to you.

So congratulations on a job well done!!! :)

Oh, and the review would've made me want to play Angelo if I didn't already.... :p (kinda short on time these days, really wanna finish translating Xan... :D )

  11. Thanks! :p You wouldn't believe how much I want to see this finished myself.

(And, please, do not die. Not before playing and giving me feedback, that is..)

Well, I can't give any promises (because as everyone in my profession knows, death can come at anytime for anyone..... No, I'm not a spy, I'm a med student! :p ), but I sure hope to try this little guy out!!! :p And soon.... :( *sigh*

*runs off to play BG1NPC again* erm, well, as soon as I go home to my own putter that is! :(

  12. Just dropped by rosenranken.org and wanted to say I've noticed that we're getting *very* close to the end, and I guess I just wanted to say "kudos"!!

Come on, Jastey, get back to work now!! :p A lot of us Ajantis fans out there are just dying for this mod to come out!!! :p

  13. Just took a quick peek at the Progress Thread in the Rosenranken Forum (sorry, didn't have the courage to register there :( my second foreign language was spanish, not german :( ), and I see a lot of 100%'s!!!! Hooray!!!

I'm really excited that this mod is so close to completion, having enjoyed wooing Ajantis in BG1  (and hating that he died in Windspear Hills ;)), and so I'm really looking forward to this mod! Thank you so much, Jastey!! ;)

Wishing you the best of luck and loads of courage for the rest of the road! :suspect:

  14. That was me, somehow logged out.

    Thank you, too, Kulyok. ;)

How would you mute them? By adding references to a blank audio file?

I'll take the liberty to answer for her, in case she's already turned in. :(

So yes, that's what she uses, references to blank audio files (trust me, I'd know after translating lines and lines of Xan's tra files and seeing so many "[O#XAN000]"). :)

  15. I'm just going by the original character portrait under the profiles. It was a portrait that's all over the place as Drizzt and (I think) one of the alternates for Solaufein, with had hair very deliberately changed to yellow-ish, which was the color I was trying to match. If Domi wants it a different color, it can be changed. However,
The hair looks just artificial to me, and therefore it doesn't accomplishl it's aim.

Am I the only one who likes this portrait the way it is? :)

    :) Tee hee... :)
