  1. not so. as solo sorcerers and solo mages, mind blank would be incredibly useful. especially with the amount of mind affecting magics out and about, not to mention that once charmed you're dead in the eyes of the game. mind blank would be invaluable. vanilla 8th had nearly no good spells, save trigger, wilting and incidiary. now with the pro-elements we have 4. arguably ggoi is usable, but its not part of 2.ed afaik atleast. mind blank is. and least of all it should not be kept out of arcane spell selection because something simillar is in the divine.

    I second this. If I'm the solo arcane caster, how I'm supposed to counter tons of mind-affecting things out there? Don't mention potions, it's for lesser classes like warriors ! :)

    BAM is multi-colored, I'm not sure about changing head colour into blue. But I hope you'll like it. :)

    we all know that red is restricted for offensive spells, so yes, I think you should change color to blue. great job though! :D

  3. Summoned Creatures should grant XP.

    Just for the fact that they're usually much more capable than a spell of the same level.

    Now, how about, instead of having it grant the same XP as the original critter, only grant half the XP or 10% ?

     

    And, I've got to say, I agree with Daulmakan.

    I second this. Killing hostile summons should yield some xp for the party, maybe not 100%, but players definitely should get something.

  4. Edit: and no, this is not a spell for emergencies imo, because 50% of times it won't save you. If you're bout to die and need a quick escape or protection you go for Mislead, Stoneskin, PfMW or similar spells which can really save your ass (100% chance) for a limited time.
    Those are 7th and 6th level spells... the 1st level spell can do the the same 50% of the times. And that's a lot for the party, as it saves a 5&6 or a 7th level cleric spell, 50% of the times, in close combat when the mage needs just a few seconds more so the melee'ers can finish the monster...

    So what is it that you're suggesting anyway? That the low level spells should be useless compared to the high level ones or what? If 50% is too good for you, what percentage do you prefer? 20, 10%? Gimme a break, no one would use your "nerfed" low level spells ever.

In addition to the traditional two, the player may now opt to side with a group even the paladins in the party could have no objection to... or he may opt to skip the whole decision entirely and set sail for Maztica.
