I'm playing EET. There is several options one is bgee, another is bgee & bge2, another is with pst and finally the more unstable IWD.

im playing ONLY bgee and want to install bgee2. Do i have to do a fresh install or can i just use the EET installer again and add BG2 and mods? Will I lose my current game?

Maybe someone else would like to attempt an answer. :)

Are you by any chance confusing EET with some other tool/mod (possibly Roxanne's extended world install tool)?

  2. My vote was for content only, but honestly it should be: whatever has highest chance of completion.

I have no horse in this race as I'm not particularly invested in the IWD content in EET (I don't think it can be integrated that well in terms of plot / balance but I would like to be proven wrong) but still, I think it is great project for those interested. Yet my understanding is that while IE modding scene is not exactly dying, it isn't "growing" either, and with how things are (and this is by no means criticism of anyone especially k4thos, because modders and supporting community do tremendous amount of work and should be praised for it) I think best course of action is to get something "done" as fast as possible even if it means cutting out some things. This would have highest chance of success and community experiencing said content. And my understanding is that with such "conversion" mod, at later date another mod could bring missing content / rules that were omitted due to complexity / amount of work or missing tools like EEex

  3. I like the idea of a "dream" you get by resting in specific location, that was mentioned. It allows you to consume IWD1 in bite size chunks in between stuff you do main campaign and also lets you do IWD1 even during IWD2 or after, because that stuff already happened anyways, you just "observing it". Also there is a lot of things you can do to play with this idea. For example dreaming could be explained like: you encounter part of some artifact, that when you sleep in specific place pulls you to relive it's history and see where missing part ended so you can fix it. Or instead of artifact it could be that you need to relive past of your ancestor. Dream also allows you to easily explain other stuff, like why is your party there with you (you just replace past party members with familiar faces), potential power shifts when going in and out, why you don't keep items (could potentially get them after ending IWD1, like @Leeux mentioned, hidden in some area)

ofc dream explanation may seem like cheap one, but if done with care it can make sense and it solves a lot of issues present in other ways of handling IWD1 content.

I know this is bit offtopic, but since you already mentioned Polish translation: How much untranslated contend leakage one may expect in non SoD parts of the game in EET?

I'm planing full playthrough (my last one was in BGT times before EE was even on horizon) and while I don't mind playing SoD in English it would be really irritating (ocd) if other chapters had mix of Polish / English dialogs / item descriptions etc. Honestly I'm really torn between PL/EN versions, I consider translation superb, but on the other hand English version gives me consistency which is really nice.

  5. Xam, thank you. Looks like your report contradics skellytz's post which mentions that bpenda.2da is missing in GOG release. Could you please install this code as well and report back if the file is found in your game?

    Installing [BPENDA_check] [beta 0.1]

    CButt.bam exists in game

    BPENDA.2DA exists in game

Somehow missed Skellytz post above, sorry. Anyways, seems like issue is with GOG version incremental patch as opposed to full install.
