mage buffing script causing crashes?

Hi! I just started a game, and when the party meets Renfeld and the thugs in the city encounter, the game crashes (actually it doesn't just crash, it goes totally black and the only option is resetting the pc from outside). I couldn't check, as it's fast, but I think this happens when the mage fires his buffs.

Tried a few other times, and it seems to be quite erratic. Sometimes it crashes as soon as I enter the area, sometimes a few seconds later and sometimes it works fine.

Can't reproduce locally, sorry. Anyone else have a similar problem?
Well, if you remember I had the same problem during the first beta testing, though it could have been a possible incompatibility with some spell's changes I've made. :) Since then I've always played without pre-buffing mages (i use the 3rd option) because that option didn't give me any problem. :) Luckily even without pre-buffing SCS II is still quite challenging, and I think I like this option the most now (it's the most "realistic").

The same thing is now happening when I enter the Harper hold to fight Galvarey. Perhaps it's a harper quest issue? Btw, Rylock didn't spawn after talking to Xzar the first time and I had to clua him manually.
