Is there something wrong in my walkthrough? Is it some "Vista Issue"? Thanks. Link to comment
the bigg
You're the third user for whom the mod doesn't work on Vista, but does on XP. Try disabling UAC or something. Link to comment
Guest Ankh
(It was me above) Oh my God, I have disabled UAC..... And it worked! Thanks a lot for your great mod ! -Ankh, an happy player. Link to comment
Guest mwtb
Bumping this as I have exactly the same symptom (install claims success, but no actual effect). Unfortunately, although I am on Vista I have always had UAC switched off so that doesn't seem to be the problem. I have set the BGII directory to be writeable also and tried running the widescreen-setup as administrator but with no luck. Is there anything else I could try (other than completely reinstalling)? Guest Guest
One of the stickies should lead to the only answer I can give. Oh well, thanks anyway. I guess I'll have to work out what the mod is trying to do and see which bit of it isn't happening even though it thinks it is. Link to comment
Guest mwtb
It turned out to be just that the ini file wasn't being written or was being reset. I manually updated the Resolution value to 1680 and it works fine. Link to comment

Isaya
Check this message to discover the root directory where Vista writes the modified Baldur.ini if you installed the game anywhere in C:\Program Files. Otherwise follow these suggestions to install the game in a location where Vista won't interfere if you don't mind reinstalling everything. Link to comment
