Nameless one walks backwards

I just got this game yesterday after many years of not playing it, and installed the mod; but I now have an issue with The Nameless One, being that he'll only walk forward if he's heading left across the screen. Whenever I move him right he just doesn't turn around, but walks or runs backwards.

I've completely uninstalled four times now but it still persists. I don't understand it.

 

 

 

 

Any ideas what's wrong with it, anyone? It's really driving me mad.
