senior_hombre
This tool is so great (i just found out that this is existing, thanks to all the developers you are great ). I have one question, do i just need the files from my cds (like an other interpreter tool called scummvm does) or is patching still necessary? If so, how do i patch and what is with fixes like BG2 fixpacks? Link to comment
Avenger
Yes, patches (and fixpack) modify the dataset. Many errors have been fixed by them. If you omit these, you will have a buggy game. Link to comment
senior_hombre
ok, what is the best way to patch the game? Do i have to install it first on Windows to apply the patches? My goal is to run GemRB on linux in the moment i only have a Win7 64 bit OS on a notebook available, i think it could be a problem to install the game on this system. Link to comment
alx3apps
You can run mods with WINE or in VirtualBox' windows. Link to comment
Avenger
I think the patches work with Wine. But if you have a Windows available, it is simpler to do the job there. You can install the game on the win7 notebook, probably even play it with the proper settings. Link to comment
