Guest RandomPlayer Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Mod version 4.19rc2. BG EE. WeiDU log: // Log of Currently Installed WeiDU Mods // The top of the file is the 'oldest' mod // ~TP2_File~ #language_number #component_number // [Subcomponent Name -> ] Component Name [ : Version] ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #0 // Spell Revisions: v4.19 ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #10 // Deva and Planetar Animations: v4.19 ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #20 // Mirror Image Fix: v4.19 ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #30 // Dispel Magic Fix: v4.19 ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #60 // Update Spellbooks of Joinable NPCs: v4.19 Both wish spells don't work. Djinnis do appear, but no conversation starts and it cannot be started manually because Dao "has nothing to say to you", while djinni from Wish spell is not interactable at all. Quote
jmerry Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Why are you blaming a mod? Those spells just aren't fully implemented in BGEE; they depend on the djinni's dialogue and a number of secondary spells to work, and those weren't all copied over from BG2 like the base spells were. BGEE has enough high-level spells to make NPC mages like Liia and Halbazzar Drin work, but you were never meant to reach those levels yourself. (In the case of Limited Wish, the spells for the repeatable wishes are all copied over, but the dialogue isn't and the one-time wishes wouldn't make sense. In the case of Wish, neither the dialogue nor the spells you get from it are copied over.) Quote
RoyalProtector Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Yes, numerous high-level spells are broken in BGEE. You're not supposed to ever get them. You could say then that their existence does not make much sense I guess. But from a modding perspective, it's nice that they are there. BBOD for example is broken too. Quote
