Edwin 3.1 problem (since SHS no longer exists)

Like I said, posting here because I don't know where else to post about Edwin problems since SHS no longer exists.

I left my game running for ~12 hours while I slept then did chores. This usually results in a few love talks accumulated then I continue. Problem is with Edwin this time I am stuck on the talk where you can ask him a bunch of things like the deal with his nose ring and such. And it keeps coming up. I say anything (even "Leave Edwin alone") and a couple seconds after the dialogue is finished it pops right back up again. I can't play like this! I've tried kicking him out of the party and then reinviting him, saving and reloading--including exiting the game, and just powering through a bunch of them saying "Leave Edwin alone" hoping it will exhaust them. Nothing works! I really don't want to continue without him.
