Playing BG2 For The First Time Ever

This is a very helpful thread. the vast number of mods, patches, and other addons can be overwhelming. I'm not the OP, just someone looking to revisit BGII after several years.

 

What I have for an order of install is this:

 

Offcial SOA Patch (not needed with TOB install)

Official TOB Patch

BG2 Fixpack v1 (gibberlings 3)

eSeries v1.8 (www.cirerrek.addr.com... builds on the gMinion update)

Moinesse's Avatars v1 (gibberlings 3)

NPC Tweak v3.0 (gibberlings 3)

Banter Pack V6 (pocket plane)

NPC Flirt Pack V1.01 (pocket Plane)

Divine Remix v5 (gibberlings 3)

P&P Celestials v4 (gibberlings 3)

Oversight v9 (gibberlings 3)

Quest Pack V2.3 (pocket plane)

BG2 Tweak Pack v3 (gibberlings 3)

Virtue v18 (pocket plane)

I just noticed eSeries has a pre-requisite of Detect Stat (http://america.iegmc.net/bpdetectstat/).

 

However, I noticed the install errors out if you have already installed other updates. I installed this in front of the BG2 FixPack. Not sure of functionality though.

oops, please disregard my last post about BPDetectStat... it will not install with BG2 FixPack installed, nor will BG2 Fix Pack install if BPDetectStat is installed first.

 

I'm not sure how that affects eSeries.

One mod not mentioned yet is Ease of Use from Weimer's Weidu site

Also item upgrades from the same site, but maybe save that for your second playthrough (or 4th, or 5th!)

 

These mods may be a bit cheesy for some, but have made the game a lot more playable in my opinon!

 

don't over look the available NPC's:

Amber + Auren (they are so well done they are almost indistinguishabe from the original Bioware NPCs)

 

by the way, will the crossover mod allow banter between these two ladies?

Well the reason it hasn't been mentioned is that EoU is already included in G3's BG2 Tweak Pack (in an improved and bugfixed form).
