  1. Heh, I tried to take on the Sahuagin, but Kivan had like 2hp and SCS is installed, so he was immediately sniped by a crossbow bolt.

Anyway, we still win the fight, but since Kivan is dead, Keth'sim Dawin'anae is stuck repeating "If I have my forfeited life back, I shall use it for one purpose only - killing this sea-monster!" 😂

Maybe CHARNAME could step up with something similar as a backup, since if he dies it's game over anyway.

  2. Hello. I posted this on #mod-discussion on the infinity-engine Discord, looks like this is a better place.

    So, what happens:

I beat Sarevok, and when entering the Ducal Palace, Liia, Belt and Eltan are not hostile, but approaching them with anyone in the party causes Liia's Spell Trigger to fire, and _then_ she and Belt (_not_ Flaming Fist or Eltan, in fact, Liia and Belt attack the enforcers) go hostile.

Another update since this happened, I went back to the save file (attached) and a while after the above happens, ~~Winski Perorate~~ of all people dimension doors in, flamestrikes charname, screen fades and game over movie plays. I found this interesting because on my trek through the Thieves Guild maze, he was _not_ dying by the entrance to the Undercity as expected. Maybe relevant, I don't know.

Additional 'don't know if relevant': during Chapter 7, I had Flaming Fist chase me all through the city, and one of them came into the Ducal Palace with me for the coronation. I walked around to get another enforcer to attack him as not to lose rep and maybe get everyone hostile at me. During the doppleganger fight the log told me he died.

Very funny bug, would play through again 10/10 :)

I don't think those axes have a melee mode... which means using them in melee is using a missile weapon in melee range, which subjects someone to MAJOR penalties.

I don't know if Nimbul actually does that. He has always dropped 20 throwing axes for me, which means he has not used any. Which is good.

Well, in my screenshot he dropped 20 throwing axes and I got the message that he used a weapon that can't backstab, so the melee mode must work for him?

It continues to work ok for me. But if you are doing a hard reinstall, make sure you also delete the weidu_external folder.

On Linux, batch installer also worked like a charm (after deleting line 133) on v24900, using `weidu stratagems/setup-stratagems.tp2`.

If more testing on the platform is needed to enable it by default for next version, I'd be happy to help.

  5. ^ linking to a bug/compatibility issue related to Item Randomizer v7

tl;dr a BG1NPC quest breaks if the "Randomise scrolls" is installed. I tried to have a look at that mod's files but I'm still very much a zero at WeiDU/IE modding, so threw my hands up.

Posting here just in case anyone is familiar with both mods and feels like trying their hand at this one.. 🙂

  6.  Looks like the culprit is the ~RANDOMISER/RANDOMISER.TP2~ #0 #530 // Randomise scrolls: 7 component of Item Randomizer v7. The following installation fixes the problem and the quest goes as expected:

Sorry if this is spammy, apparently I can't edit posts after some time, I'd have rather have edited a single post three times since nobody has replied yet. I just don't know whether posting this here or in the Item Randomizer forum was more appropriate. Should I post a link to this on their forum as well?

  7. Hm. I believe I've narrowed down the problem to Item Randomizer v7.

In the following installation work the Sahuagin quest works flawlessly:

Adding the following - both before or after BG1NPC) breaks it as I described earlier (no dialogue prompt, fight breaks out with black screen, if charname survives long enough, it does eventually fade back, but cant talk to either Seasnake or her mark):

Gonna look at any files related to Kivan quests or the sea elf in bg1npc, but I have zero knowledge of WeiDU, just a junior programming background, fingers crossed I guess 😂

  8. I've hit a problem with Kivan's Seasnake/Sahuagins quest. Seasnake spawns and talks to you (even if you're in combat with Droth BTW, which also broke the quest for me, but that's a different issue) and if you say you'll help she says "Splashing", you get the screen fade to black. Fine.

The bug is that combat with the Sahuagin starts before the screen fades back from black. Often charname just dies before I see anything. (EDIT: Apparently the dialogue when Seasnake comes upon the Sahuagin isn't triggering, everyone comes straight to blows)

  9. Hi, this is my first post here, forgive me if this forum isn't the right place for this kind of thing.

Is this a bug? It was happening on the install of the playthrough I'm doing at the moment (the mod is wonderful, thanks DavidW) so I tried again on a more barebones install just to be sure and it's still there.
