  1. I've reached the battle with the aforementioned demon, which isn't going well for the aforementioned reason,  Searching around, this was a bug for BGEE 2.6 and SCS v33 (there was a hotfix for it) but this was apparently fixed in SCS v34 (which is what I have).   The fix from the Beamdog forum didn't work for me, so I wonder if anyone here can help with ideas on:

    a) how to make A'L killable again or,

    b) how to advance the game so it thinks I did

    TIA

  2. Thanks for the fix!  (And, also, for the tip to find out which mods have changed a given file).

One query (just so I'm clear): I'm going to install a new list shortly - am I OK to use the scroll components and the bag of spilling or is it one or the other?

  3. I wonder if anyone knows what's going on here:

I wanted to use component 3505 of SCS but this post suggests it's bugged and so I looked for this as an alternative.  However, the scrolls components fail to install.

Here's the debug report and the Weidu log.  DTKDANCE.ITM is (I think) the Dancing Lights spell from SoD;  when I installed only (what I thought were) relevant SoD mods and this tweak everything was fine (no weidu log for that).  Just looking for ideas as to what might be causing this.

  4. So I tried an installation of some mods based on this order.  Project Infinity threw a wobbly when it came to "Faiths & Powers" (v0.84.5) and "Might & Guile" (v5.6.1), the metadata for each saying it should come before the other...

It’s hard work but important. We are all poorer for not having a Big World Guide anymore. A crowd-sourced replacement is a great help to lots of people.

I’m very unclear on all the intricacies of NPC and quest mods, but I feel more knowledgeable about kits and tweaks. As regards my own mods, I think you can rely on my latest install.

...I assume the order in your install is correct @subtledoctor?

Should I add a column to list mods that overlap or share components as this is perhaps different to being incompatible. Examples include cliffkey and eet_tweaks or iwdification and cdtweaks.

It may also make sense to split functional incompatibility from conceptual incompatibility (such as romantic encounters not fitting with some npc mods).

Maybe this is overcomplicating and I should just describe the above in the incompatibility column?

I was looking for a place where someone has compared all the tweaks made by the various tweak mods and catalogued those that change the same thing - it would be useful.

As for the list itself, I noted an inconsistency in the order for "Viconia Revamped" (commented).

Huge thanks for these, I've updated with your suggestions.

    No problem.

    Great!

I thought I'd done those, thanks! Yes that's the 'official' list.

I did look at that originally (2020) but it is extremely unreliable. Quite a few of the mods are actually forks with content changes and 'compatibility patches' and as soon as you try the same order with the main branch things fall apart.

Understood.  One of the other aspects of that tool is it picks up conflicts between mod components; I guess they're all dodgy too, but have they been checked?

Thanks, getting close to being something I may actively share elsewhere. Volunteering to help maintain?

I don't know if my knowledge is up for that, but I'm happy to assist where I can.

re, my mod suggestions, most of them are on this https://k4thos.github.io/EET-Compatibility-List/EET-Compatibility-List.html,  Is this the correct EET Compatibility List? (Edit: added some comments on the non-EET sheet to identify mods that are on this list)

Now, I'm new here and have no wish to reopen old wounds.  But, there is a mod author out there who appears to be unpopular around here because of her "liberal" approach to intellectual property who has a tool (also apparently unpopular) with a suggested install order.  Has anyone reviewed that install order?

  7. @4udr4n This is a stellar effort on your part, it will really help people like me (BG-familiar, understands the modding concepts but not the specific knowledge, which might explain why my  last attempt at a modded EET went awry) put something playable together and keep BG feeling fresh.

    A few observations:

    - the Road to Discovery discrepancy between its current position in the order and the "install after" warnings has already been picked up on; Heroes, Thieves and Moneylenders & Ding0's Quest Pack appear to have the same issue.

    - a few of the mods I thought of including in the next install (Dace, Auren Aseph, Chatty Imoen, Verr'Sza BG2EE) are on your non-EET list but their readmes suggest they are EET compatible. Can you say more?

    - are you adding new mods?  I'd quite like to see Skitia's NPCs on this list. At first glance, they look OK for inclusion in the NPC section but your knowledge may be better.

May you roll natural 20s in all your endeavours!
