  1. While tralating in Ita a huge mod (DSotSC), i found several lines from the original game example @25 = ~Quarter Staff~ @27 = ~The simplest and humblest of staff weapons, the quarterstaff is a length of wood ranging six to nine feet in length. High quality quarterstaves are made of stout oak and are shod with metal at both ends. The quarterstaff must be wielded with both hands. etc... so i toke a look to other big mod (Drizzt Saga) and i found that there, in english, the lines from original game are still present, but them are not in in the other language traductions... example from Drizzt saga (same line as DSotSC but with different numbering) @279 = ~The simplest and humblest of staff weapons, the quarterstaff is a length of wood ranging six to nine feet in length. High quality quarterstaves are made of stout oak and are shod with metal at both ends. The quarterstaff must be wielded with both hands. line not present in other languages _____________________________________________________ Just to be sure.. if i skip those original lines, will them picked up from the original game in the language i'm playing, right? (since it would mean a lot of less work to do, i hope so) cheers
  2. by the way... i'm entering in the Skyrim's loop: i'm spending more time in messing with mods than playing the game itself
  3. @jastey I had an hard time to find a BG1EE version i found it here http://downloads.chosenofmystra.net/bg1/ version (1.06)... although i'm not sure it's the latest (but anyway, it's the most recent i could find)
  4. is it possible to integrate a translation of a mod if the author is no longer active?if yes, how? i'm making the ita translation of BG1EE version of Darkside of the Sword Coast (avaible here, by the way: v1.06 http://downloads.chosenofmystra.net/bg1/)
  5. You could try in this forum https://community.notepad-plus-plus.org/ if there's a suitable unicode, someone there should know about it
  6. @jastey Done. The file is at the top of the thread.
  7. @jasteyI no problem... i'm using word just to read better, but i'm making the work on notepad++ directly in one day or two i should have checked it all Thx
  8. @jastey i think it was me : you informed me of my error on the Bugthread. To be exact, i didn't really know the matter of the two line at all (i played BG in 98, and then there were dinosaurs, not mods... i've only taken it up since this summer... ) anyway, few minutes ago i had an epiphany, and now i'm using word to find errors (Gods bless autocorrect) ... it should help for missing ~ too, since i there i can read without loosing my eyes
  9. @jastey yes: i often used french translation, and russian one too... however we were talking about some particular situation, such Alec or Hull, where they seek for intimacy with the PG, even if he is a male... i said that, in absence of explicit gender restrictions, i put both the lines... Heroes can also be open-minded (after all, Achilles was offended by the Briseis thing, and maybe he liked her... but it was when it came to Patroclus that he got really pissed off ).
@jastey I'm testing it too (found and corrected a few errors in TICam - a line with a little part still in english - and Messenger too - error in the temple's name) Excluding actual errors, a few mistakes can only be noticed by playing , seeing the lines in their real context here the latest file, with the above errors fixed... anyway, i'll read again all too, at least to find missing ~
  11. @jastey I'll start translating BG2re soon... ANSI format there too, right?
  12. I used copies of the files from the english folder.
  14. no prob I understood it Now I will review the files already processed to insert female gender's lines, then i'll continue with the rest.
  15. OoooH! I found it strange (clunk) that develpers hadn't considered this problem for some languages, and sometimes I went crazy to find ways to make some sentences no-gender (clunk) I will, as soon as I get out of the chicken coop thx
  16. Another minor bug caught (inconveniences that occur when an unfortunate person has the wicked idea to translate a million-line mod ) French translation, file c#eltan, line 208 @208 = ~Mais cela veut-il dire que vous n'êtes pas emballé de me retrouver en vie, en pleine forme ?~ ~Mais cela veut-il dire que vous n'êtes pas emballée de me retrouver en vie, en pleine forme ?~ Doubled phrase (really, i'm not sure it's a "bug" since it's entirely possible the red part doesn't appeare ingame) cheers

  18. Minor bug In the english traduction, Thalantyr quest, at line 297 "I should come back in two says to collect it" instead of days cheers
  19. mmm.. it's the program recommended in several modding community for translating but, just in case, i'm attaching a worked file, so, if you don't mind, you can tell me if it's it suit edit... i toke a look, and it's like u said: now i set it to convert files in ANSI. Thx
  20. Thx for the tips. I'm using notepad++ to modify a copy of the english files, so there shouldn't be problems, since it keep the original format. I'm already comparing it with those in other languages, from time to time, when I have doubts or perplexities, and to be sure there are not missing lines. Some lines I had to reinterpret, of course, that especially some puns and expressions don't work well if translated literally in my language It remains a mystery to me that none of my lazy countrymen have done this yet... If, after this, I'm still in the "rain man" mood, I'll do the BGII version too.
  21. To the author: Thx for this awesome mod r u still active? I'm working on italian translation... to any interested Italian users se qualcuno è interessato ad aiutare, faccia un fischio: lo faccio anche da solo ma, più mani, meno tempo...
