  1. I do apologise for the lack of availability of his medical skills (and hope the healing is rapid). As to speaking to other people, he's got this terrible habit of just assuming he can do things without the PC's permission. You'll have to take that up with him, if you keep that collar on. TARDIS....Dr Who owns, nice reference. Wish there was a Dr Who Rpg game I grew up on Who, I did. There is a Doctor Who RPG, of the Pen and Paper variety, as it happens. and I think the BBC put out some games on the Doctor Who website. But you gotta be a Brit to gain access to them, so I can't vouch for those.
  2. Without a wormhole, TARDIS or some other mechanism for traversing time, I'd say sadly on the low side. Chances are pretty good that he'll be talking with Keldorn though, since I've finished up my second banter with him now.
  3. Curse the fetching hue of that collar... Looks like Aklon's going to get a working out (or is that over) on his first few outings. Thanks for hanging in there Abdal! I'll get him done, it might not be amazingly soon, but I'll keep at it.
  4. Hopefully both paths will have something to offer the discerning Bhaalspawn. Though I'm pretty sure Aklon has a preference on how things will go.
  5. Yep, that about sums it up. The PC stuff is for an enslaved Aklon, the friendship path for a non-romanced PC (not so much to do on that since some of the romance stuff is similar, and it's also built into some of the NPC talks, which is partly why some have taken so long). There'll also be some brushing up of the main romance track itself, as I've had some new ideas and thoughts about a few things that I want to fix/improve before release. Sadly, I can't promise a Winter Wonderland Aklon to add a little warmth to the year's end, but I'll do my best to keep moving on things as fast as I can, so you'll all be able to enjoy him some winter soon.

    Progress Reports

What's this? A progress post without six months passing? You bet your sitting appendages it is! Not a major bit of progress, but to let all of you lurking about know, the banters for Jan are all done and dusted, and I'm now moving on to Keldorn's chatting with Aklon. Onwards and upwards, and thanks to everyone who's still here to hear.
  7. I'm trying to keep an eye on the passage of time and at least get some lines down or clear some time to write so I don't get wrapped up in other things and forget for too long. Seems to be working. I was lucky enough to be near my computer when it happened, the idea came into my head while doing some chores. It is good when inspiration strikes in a place where you don't lose it, I have lost a few by a combination of not having writing tools or a decent memory, sadly.
  8. Amazingly, there has actually been progress, with the fourth of Jan's banters done and the fifth started, plus a random Viconia banter that fell out of my head in the past couple of weeks. I'm trying to keep things rolling along, so hopefully main writing will be done sooner rather than later.
  9. Thanks for stopping by and checking (Oh dear, I seem to be on the clock now). I've actually made some progress with three of five planned Jan banters done, the fourth started and hopefully I'll be able to finish them all in the next couple of weeks. Then, we're onto Keldorn.
  10. With Jan talking, there's a distinction between Jan talking with someone, and Jan talking at someone.

    Progress Reports

What? A progress report within a year of the last one? What madness is this? The madness of progress, that's what. *coughs* Just not huge progress. I'm actually a little late in reporting this, but I have now finished up Jaheira's talks and I'm now working on Jan's banters, with some basic ideas already worked out and a little bit of sketching out the banters already. Jan has a lot less to say to Aklon, so I hope to be able to report the completion of his stuff in a much shorter time than Jaheira's took. Thanks to everyone who stops by to check on what I've managed to churn out, I do appreciate your sticking around!
  12. Thank you for the continued interest after all this time. Sadly, I'm not done for this reinstall, but hopefully it won't be too long until I've got something for people to try out.
  13. Thanks for the encouragement Baka-no-Neko and MissBehave, sadly it has been this long since I started, and I really must get a move on if anyone is to see Aklon before BGII is a forgotten relic. I do appreciate everyone still hanging around after all this time, I may not have abandoned Aklon, but I'm not exactly setting a blistering pace on activity either and my apologies for that. I will try to make sure you do get a chance to take Aklon along for a BGII run one of these days, and hopefully not that far distant either.
  14. Thanks Eriberri, I'm very grateful that you and others like Glandire and Kulyok are still hanging around. It's a good thing Baldur's Gate does have this lifetime or I'd never get Aklon done. But I like to finish what I start, so I'll do my best to keep that wait as short as possible. Maybe 2014 will be the year. Well, I hope so.
  15. Thanks Gladire and Kulyok for jumping in to say hello even after all this time. Yes, I'm still here and still working away, ten years and all... Not that I'm really celebrating that particular bit of slowness on my part. *coughs* I'll try to get Aklon done before the release of Baldur's Gate Super-Super-Enhanced Edition on GoodButVeryOldGames.com for the Brain-Vat version of Windows.
  16. She's nearly done talking, it'll be done by year's end. Which at least isn't as depressing as had I posted this in January.
  17. Hi Kai and Cal, Thanks for the votes of confidence and offer of assistance, I appreciate them. If I do need any help, I'll be sure to ask. Life business is keeping me from getting as much progress done as I'd like, but a recent trip provided me with a lack of distractions long enough to make a start on ideas and basic writing for some Jan banters, so once I've properly completed the last of Jaheira's talks (made complicated by the player being able to get involved), I'll be on to getting our favorite mildly unhinged gnome chatting away with Aklon. Things should hopefully progress more rapidly after that, since none of the remaining NPCs have as large a load of banters and talks as the ones I've already done.
  18. Thanks Eleima, I don't know about a throng, I'll just try to make sure those few of you still around get something decent.
  19. Well, I guess that depends on how comfortable you are watching the two of them bantering along. Or how much you care about arguments between a druid and an alchemist. I'll also aim to make those progress updates a bit faster in future, so the "yay"s aren't months apart....
  20. Thanks for sticking with me, MissBehave, I hope the final product won't be disappointing. Jaheira is admittedly a special case, she has a long friendship arc going on with Aklon, most of the other NPCs will be in the 3-5 range for banters, so I'm not completely insane. On that score I've made a fair bit of progress, thanks to a business trip where I spent two days with nothing else to do, so I should be finishing up with Jaheira shortly and getting on with the remaining NPCs much more quickly.
  21. Thanks very much for the encouragement and for sticking with me so long Eriberri. I wish I could promise you him soon, but I am still making progress. I' nearly to the end of Jaheira's talks and I'll be getting on with the other NPCs as fast as I can. Jaheira's got a fair bit to say, so the others should go faster.
  22. I've had a chance to come along a little bit, moving onto a new Aklon-Jaheira talk and getting closer to finishing up with them so I can start work on the Aklon-Keldorn interactions, which should be a bit faster to do, as I have those reasonably well mapped out already.
  23. For sure, I did want to do some banters with Aran, from what I've read of his history and outlook, he and Aklon could have some interesting discussions. And I totally agree with winning the lottery, being a Gentleman of Leisure is so much more the thing for writing serious literature, don't you know.
  24. Ten year anniversaries are for people who make progress. I suppose that means I should probably go and make some.
  25. Can we bet on people? I bet on cmorgan. Thanks for the vote of confidence, I hope to make the waiting at least somewhat worthwhile, even if you have to drop Aerie in a chasm at some point. Then let me say a hearty welcome to G3. Or talking in it, anyways. Thank you for sticking around for my egregiously slow writing. Hopefully it won't be too much longer to wait.
