Salk Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Hi DavidW! SCS II automatically skips the component "Smarter Yaga-Sura" writing this: SKIPPING: [Smarter Yaga-Sura] Point What does that "Point" word mean? And I am pretty sure that the last time I tried installing SCS II, this component was not skipped... Oh and one more thing, like you have recommended, I had installed only Detectable Spells from SCS and not again when I run SCS II. The result is that it didn't let me install the Smarter AI components so it's a no go.
DavidW Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Hi DavidW! SCS II automatically skips the component "Smarter Yaga-Sura" writing this: SKIPPING: [Smarter Yaga-Sura] Point What does that "Point" word mean? And I am pretty sure that the last time I tried installing SCS II, this component was not skipped... Assuming you've installed since July, this must be a change in your install, since the mod hasn't changed since then. In any case, "point" is due to a typo in the TRA ref; what it should say is "The non-Ascension version of Yaga-Shura is already improved by the "Smarter General AI" component of SCSII" Oh and one more thing, like you have recommended, I had installed only Detectable Spells from SCS and not again when I run SCS II. The result is that it didn't let me install the Smarter AI components so it's a no go. Well, that was always an "unofficial suggestion", not something supported. If you know how to edit the tp2, just delete the whole DS component and replace it with a dummy component with the same DESIGNATED code. (Still not recommended, exactly, but should work - as I recall, this is because you don't want SCSII to tag items as detectable.)
Salk Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Thanks for the answers, DavidW! About not wanting the AI to tag the used items, I was suggested to make the file autolib.slb completely blank after SCS installation. I am giving this a go in my just started game.
DavidW Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Thanks for the answers, DavidW! About not wanting the AI to tag the used items, I was suggested to make the file autolib.slb completely blank after SCS installation. I am giving this a go in my just started game. Blanking it after installing the whole mod will have absolutely no effect. Blanking it after installing DS but before installing tactical components will probably work.
Salk Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Hello again, DavidW! I have installed DS from SCS and then manually blanked the autolib.slb file but when I try installing the Smarter Mage component I get this error: Copying 1 file ... Salk Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 DavidW, no luck. Salk Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 UPDATE: If I just leave those triggers from the original file alone then everything will install fine. Have you any idea why perhaps? Salk Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 UPDATE 2: While the trick worked fine through the SCS installation, I had not the same luck with SCS II. I did the same. I installed DS and then I just replaced the autolib.slb with the one above. The first error comes when I try installing "Fiends have fast, uninterruptable magic": ERROR locating resource for 'COPY' Resource [dw#demnab.bcs] not found in KEY file: [./chitin.key] Stopping installation because of error. Stopping installation because of error. Then the next error unsurprisingly comes from "Smarter Mages": ERROR: error compiling [scsII/mage/ssl_out/dw#mage.baf]: Sys_error("scsII/mage/ssl_out/dw#mage.baf: No such file or directory") ERROR: compiling [scsII/mage/ssl_out/dw#mage.baf]! Stopping installation because of error. Stopping installation because of error. Stopping installation because of error. Sorry to be a pain in the ass with all these officially unsupported troubles but after many many months I was looking forward to play the game under almost ideal (for me) conditions!
DavidW Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Pass. I'm afraid you've reached the limits of my friendliness in supporting unsupported installations!
Salk Posted February 6, 2009 Author Posted February 6, 2009 It's perfectly okay, DavidW! Thanks anyway!
Salk Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 Just in case anyone is interested, the following SCS II autolib.slb takes me through the installation without a single error message: TRIGGER=Silence True() TRIGGER=ConfuseProof True()
