DrAzTiK Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I have installed only Weapon Changes component and : I ' am not sure that 2d6 for twho handed word is correctly applied. I have tested with some word with Minsc (++ in two handed weapons, no item boosting STR) and : -Lilacor : 2d6 it's ok (13-23) -Silver Sword : do 1d10 (12-21) - sword of chaos : do 1d10 (11+1, 20+1) - Warblade +4 : very strange : Minsc do between 13 and 24 damages . It should be impossible. (warblade should do 14-24) Can you test ? I have do many test. Maybe it's coz of my configuration (mods etc...) but it's very strange. I have not installed many mods. Maybe there is the same pb for anothers weapons. Maybe it's coz i have not an english version ??

Testing with Fixpack + just the Weapon Changes component, all 1d10 damage 2-handed swords mentioned are adjusted to 2d6 damage. Warblade is left as 1d12 due to the nature of the check (change 1d10s to 2d6s). I suggest you grab Near Infinity so that you can see if there's anything actually wrong with your .itm files.
DrAzTiK Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 I have installed Near infnity . I can see and open my Itm files for two handed sword. Where can I see what is wrong ?? ty

Mike1072 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 In "item abbility" : some swords are patched and some swords are not patched. (especially SOA swords) . Very strange.... Same for hammers. Just half of them are patched. erfffff Try running a change-log on some of the items that didn't look like they got patched. In your BG directory, make a copy of one of your setup-modname.exe files and rename it weidu.exe. Then open up the command prompt (Start->Run->"cmd"). type: cd "c:\path\to\bg\folder" then type: weidu.exe --change-log yourfile.itm This should a) tell you what mods have edited the file and b) create numbered copies of these files from each stage in the installing process, so you can open them individually to see where things might have gone wrong. Post here the results of a), and anything you can make out of b). If you can't figure out b), I may be able to look at the files in a few days.

Mike1072 Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Re ! Sorry I had some difficulty to understand this manipulations. Some friends helped me. Here the result of "a)" : There shouldn't be a problem with just SCS II. Could you email me (via hotmail address in profile) the following files? BGII - SoA/override/SW2H16.itm BGII - SoA/SW2H16.00001.itm These will be "Sword of Chaos after Weapon Changes" and "Sword of Chaos before Weapon Changes".
BloodBeast Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 I have read from somewhere that 2 handed swords do 150% DMG.
BloodBeast Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Just don't know how that's calculated, like 150% after strength bonuses or before? BG2 is such a number crunching game, I am surprised the developers don't add tables and calculations right into the game, for easy reference. The in game descriptions such real bad.
BloodBeast Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Like when you equip a wpn, should show xx to xx dmg When you choose a spell to memorize, should show xx seconds duration, not 2 rounds + 1 per level. Shouldn't have to calculate in your head, the computer is there to facilitate the calculations.
BloodBeast Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 In fact the computer should show how much time you have left in a spell, before expiry.
Mike1072 Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 OK, I've taken a look at the files you sent me, DrAzTiK. SW2H16.ITM: Sword of Chaos which should be from override This file appears to be the standard game file, before SCS II, IR, or any other mods have been installed. Either you've managed to do something truly strange that's reverted this file, or perhaps you've been viewing files in Near Infinity with the option 'Ignore Overrides' turned on, and chose to Export/Save this one? SW2H16.0001.ITM: Sword of Chaos after SCS II, before Weapon Changes This file appears to be fine. When I stuck it in my override and installed the component from v2 + hotfixes, it turned out as expected, with 2d6 damage instead of 1d10. Since it seems that the component is working fine, all I can suggest would be to try re-installing it.
DrAzTiK Posted February 14, 2009 Author Posted February 14, 2009 I have reinstalling weapons change and it's ok now. It's cool , even if a litlle strange ^^
