The Drizzt Saga (BG1)

I probably have a bit of a bugged vanilla BG1 install (DSotSC, TDS, BGQE, Xan Friendship, various BG1 Tweaks), but it has me asking the question. Drizzt Saga dialogs and item descriptions work fine, but the "companions" have names and picked dialog texts from BGQE text, and the two area locations on the world map aren't what they should be. So far no other problems, except...

 

If I refuse to allow any of Drizzt's companions to join, or release any one of them, all of them leave! I know Drizzt has to be in party for Regis to send the party to the Nine Hells, and Elminster to send the party to Icewind Dale. Beyond this, is Drizzt required in the party at all?

 

I'd like to finish TDS and BG1 with Vicci and Garrick in the party, but at 20 rep they leave permanently if I kick them out.
