  1. Thank you, Argent77. Removing those last lines worked. I just finished reinstalling on a clone BG2EE (titled EET of course). I do have a few items of note. Since it is a .zip file, when I extracted it I had an EET-master folder with everything in it. I had to manually move the setup-EET.exe and the folders (EET, EET-gui, EET-end) to the root directory. After running setup-EET.exe, I installed my mods (BGEE first, then BG2EE), EET gui, finally EET end. I was unable to install one mod: BG1 Unfinished Business rejected every component. Should I have installed this in BGEE before running EET? WeiDU.log
  2. Trying EET for the first time with no success. I tried from a clean install of BG2EE and a clone with the same result. Attached is my setup-eet.debug file.   3. My ToB installation is from GoG, so no DRM. I also have BG2EE from Beamdog. No problems with either in C:\Games. I've checked out C:\Users\<username>\AppData\(Local, LocalLow and Roaming folders) for anything other than Beamdog games, and nothing shows. Going from XP (desktop PC) to 10 (laptop) is a bit of a jump, and this is where my problems seem to begin. I can neither install nor uninstall SoA from DVD or hard drive without the flags noted in the opening post. Is there somewhere else I can look, or something I can do, to rectify this issue? Edit: Also, where can I check the system registry and perhaps delete the SoA game from the system? I can't do it from the Control Panel\Programs and Features section. All I get is the catastrophic failure message.
  4. Sorry, I should have also added that I'm trying to install from C:\Games\BG2_DVD to C:\Games\SoA. I stay away from any folders named \Programs or \Program Files. I've had no trouble installing or modding in C:\Games until now. And only with the SoA reinstallation. I will, however, check the Windows Login status.
  5. I have a problem with the DVD edition of Shadows of Amn, from the Baldur's Gate 4-in-1 box set. I was able to install it once, but since it required the DVD to be in the drive I uninstalled it, copied the disk to my hard drive and tried to install from there. Now I can neither install or uninstall the game, but get a message: "An installation support file could not be installed. Catastrophic failure." When I try again I get the message: "The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed. IKernel.exe could not be copied to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine\6\Intel 32'. Make sure that you have the appropriate privileges to copy this file to this folder. (0x20)" The game disk has an iKernel.ex_ file, and the indicated Intel 32 folder had an iKernel.exe file. Could someone give me an idea what's going on, and how to fix it? I'm trying to check out separate installations of SoA, SoA-ToB and BG2EE.
  6. Thank, Cam. Fixpack installed nicely on both v1.03 and v1.42. Seems WeiDU v241 had the same bug as v242.
  7. I've a similar problem, though I'm installing the fixpack to a basic (v1.06) as well as a TotLM (v1.42) installation on a Win 10 laptop. In basic, Hrothgar gives his introduction and leaves, and everyone in the Winter's Cradle tavern goes hostile. In TotLM, Hrothgar doesn't even move before the party is teleported into the Whistling Gallows Inn and everyone goes hostile. This occurs on my laptop with Win10, but not on my desktop with WinXP. Any fixes for this?
  8. Downloaded v4 (noticed the fix for fighter/druid multis) and it seems to work fine. At least on XP. Had some strangeness with IWD Fixpack and this mod on Win 10 I'll have to look further into.
  9. Don't know if anyone's tried this one, but the Merchant variant fails to install in the non-EE versions. Tokens installed just fine. I've attached my debug file (from v3).
  10. Thanks for the reply, argent77. When I changed to DirectX the game wouldn't start and I got the message "Could not complile DirectX shaders." This is on my desktop PC, Windows XP with a Radeon 9550/X1050 Series video card. Looks like I'll have to delete the Baldur.ini and try again, this time with the link you gave. Edit: Just tried the Lighting Pack with no luck. I tried moderate contrast/lighting/gamma, greatly increased each individually, and neutral settings.
  11. I just purchased and installed BG:EE on my laptop. Imagine my surprise when I started a new game and found the area too dark to play. So I installed the game on my desktop. I found the same problem. No mods are installed, and I can't find any option to brighten the screen, though the options screens appear reasonable for brightness. Have I missed something in the options screens, or is there a line in the .lua file I can change to bring the games brightness up? Edit: I don't know what happened, but now the play screen (at least on my laptop) is now normal. Have there been issues with Windows updates interfering with the game? Just wondering, since I had problems with accessing my antivirus because of one...
  12. Just tried installing on a new install of IWDEE, new laptop with Windows 10. Aside from making the download from here disappear each time (and the wiedu 241 exe file as well when extracted), I had five spots that caused install to fail. Since four don't apply to IWDEE I commented them out (lines 2657, 8688, 9809 and 13009, each "near IF_EXISTS"), but the last one ended it ("no rule to identify PSTEE"). Two things here. Since I'm new to Win10, is there some setting I need to check to not have the exe files disappear? Also does weidu 241 have the "rule to identify PSTEE"? Edit: I have my answers now. First, a pending Windows 10 update blocked access to my antivirus, which made both this mod's exe download and the weidu241 exe disappear. Once the update finished (and I restarted the next day) I was able to bring both out of quarantine. My second answer is, yes, the current weidu exe has the rule to identify PSTEE as well as clear the other four faults.
  13. The barrier is so you can't get the Crenshinbon, the crystal. The mirror is supposed to be accessible, since it leads to the final combat. Ask the right question there and this will be explained (don't want to give spoilers).
  14. How did you access TotLM, if you didn't get past Lysian (or so it sounds in your post)? Several reinstalls and Hobart's dialog was always empty, and that means every time I talk to him or he to me the game will freeze. And his conversations set several necessary Globals.
  15. Just to be sure it wasn't a mod that hosed Hobart's DLG file I reinstalled IWD-in-BG2 v8. Nothing more. The file comes up empty of dialog (even though the sets and calls and triggers are there and in the proper places). Definitely a converter problem.
  16. Finally finished the Sea of Moving Ice and HoW. AR9602 - The altar near Xactile had two Mourner's Armor. AR9603 - I had 3 CTD's before I finished the battle that starts with the Ice Golems, none after. AR9604 - The game froze with the cutscene of the dragon's soul moving to the gem. I believe it was a failed animation since it ran properly when I reran the battle. I could not start the Trials of the Luremaster. It seems Hobart's DLG file has no dialog text in it, thus making that expansion unplayable. When I talked to him the dialog window would open, but with nothing there the game froze...
  17. Gloomfrost, Hengorot and Lonelywood are now finished and I'm off to the Sea of Moving Ice. The only problems found are with mods. Winter King's Plate, Full Plate +1, Plate +1 and Chain +2 (from Tiernon) doesn't appear to be modified by the "Arcane Casting in Heavy Armor." Kieren took Cynicism and an Emotion: Hope scroll, but didn't return the modified blade "Gloom."
  18. Just finished the Burial Isle. The speed of the Drowned Dead and Barrow Wights needs to be checked (too fast and too slow, respectively). Also Vexed Armor cannot be worn by bard, mage/thief or fighter/mage, though Arcane Casting in Heavy Armor is installed. Now for the Gloomfrost...
  19. Finished the main game with two more items of note. False Pomabs - I could injure them all to barely injured, but none disappeared. I was able to kill Pomab with melee weapons, but the false Pomabs remained even after his death. I had to use the Kill hot key on them to continue the game. When Belhifet finally fell and I finally returned to the main menu there was no cursor to select anything. Now on to Heart of Winter.
  20. Finished Lower Dorn's, and getting ready to confront RBP now. I have two items, both relate to mods, not the game. Studded Leather of Resistance +3 disabled my bard's spells, even though the Arcane Casting in Heavy Armor tweak is installed. Is BG2 Tweaks updated for IWD1 equipment? I could not give the Voices Bones to Sister Calliana to fulfill his last wishes. There was no dialog option, and later when I talked to the Brother in the Fallen Temple he summoned the Voice...again. That's 3 Voices Bones I've now collected... Looks like the globals are amiss.
  21. Finally finished Malavon. Two bugs found. It seems one of Malavon's protection spells is already active when I entered (a glowing globe with no one inside it) and the golems failed to attack once their Cloudkills were released, even while the party was disassembling them. One last item, I encountered Durdel Anatha again, and again he left his bones...
  22. Finished the Fallen Temple, most of Marketh's Palace (waiting for Ginafae to switch rings) and the Artisan District (preparing to deal with Malavon). The only problem I ran into was the umber hulk ambush that gains access to Pale Justice. It didn't trigger, probably a result of the Voice component of IWD UB (I thought this bug was taken care of...).
  23. Finished Wyrm's Tooth without further problems. I entered Lower Dorn's and had some graphic slowdown problems until most of the fire salamanders were killed. The only other problem so far is in the Gnome Refuge Camp (AR8004). Beorn moves only a little way toward the Temple and stops, and "has nothing to say" to me so I can't get the Guello quest...
  24. @ decado - TotLM may come with the GoG version, but it's an optional install. Finished Upper Dorn's with no other problem than the bad description of the potion in Bandoth's store. I was even able to return to talk to him after finishing off Terikan. I'm in Wyrm's Tooth now, having just finished the Aquarium, and have encountered only one problem so far. I gave the key to Gareth, everyone left, went down to the Temple of Dugmaren and fought the trolls there, but when I went up to the Aquarium proper nothing happened. Every troll, ice salamander and winter wolf was still neutral, unaware I'd just released the slaves...
  25. Since I'm *not* playing recreationally (at least not completely) I'll continue. Just so you know, I had no problem with Lysian/Kresselack. Finished the upper areas of Upper Dorn's with only one problem - Bandoth's store had one potion with a bad string (Magic Protection).
